View 3 RepliesLost the action bar on bottom of the screen totally and the information that used to oocupy a column on the left. This situation makes it impossible to switch to the Editor.
When I start from the Editor screen all is normal. I already re-installed the program without resolving the problem.
Assistance is needed to restorew to the original installation
Adobe illustrator CS5 on Mac OS X 10.7.4.
I used to be able to do something like effect->3d-> revolve, then go to the actions panel and bring up the 3D revolve, click on it and edit it again. Now, when I open the actions panel the simple 3d revolve is replace with a long long list of actions of course I can't bring up the 3d revolve effect and edit it.
I have removed all of the Illustrator prefs in my library file; but, it still does it.
Sure wish you could manipulate the Column Offset of an Array Action with a Stretch Action.

i am trying to build an action where the end product is a channel listing that has all the channel (R-G-B-L-C-Y-M-K (forget LAB a-b)). this will allow me to look at all the channels for contrast and subsequent extraction. i'm actually able to do this as i RECORD the action. but when i RUN the action, nothing happens.
in recording the action, i create a DUPLICATE IMAGE, then convert the new image to LAB. i then drag the "L" channel to the original image. it goes into the original image as an alpha channel which i rename to "Lightness." i then convert the duplicate image to CMYK and then one-by-one DRAG the individual channels to the original image. at the end of this process, i have all eight channels visible in the channels palette. this is what i want.
but then, when i RUN the action on a new image, the action fails to RECORD the "drag step and drop" step. the "L," "C," etc. channels are not dragged during the running of the action.
why does the "drag" step not record in the action
needs to overlay a grid over a photo and then save it as another file. In CS5.5 or earlier, no problem, but in CS6 it is not working for either of us.
The batch action (run from either Photoshop or Bridge) stops and prompts at the Save command every time no matter what format we save it in (psd, png, jpg, save for web, etc.).
I have been through the Web and the Adobe Forums and cannot find a work around for this. He cannot just hit enter everytime the popup window comes up because he has over 2700 photos to put this grid on.
So, after many hours of work, and many saves, it seams I have lost a PSD file. After the program was responding very slowly, I decided to close and restart. While saving my file, there was a save error. I don't remeber exactly what it said, but it was something similiar to the filename was invalid. I thought nothing of it, since I had saved just prior, and closed the file without saving. When I go to reopen what I though would be the most recent saved file, it is missing. It's not there at all. There is nothing in the autosave folder either. I have yet to restart Photoshop, hoping there is something in the memory I can recover.

I accidentally deleted Bridge. When I try to run setup.exe from the CS2 installation disc I get: Error 1606 Could not access network location. My network access is live and other programs can connect. In CS2 Updates is greyed out.

View 13 Replies View RelatedUntil I installed Aperture everything worked fine. I would alter an image, use Save As, specify the folder where it was to be saved and then select the type of image (jpeg, png etc). The image was always in the folder I specified. Now when I do the same thing I can't find the image. I use the Finder and it says the image in question is in the folder where I save it but it's not there.
Is there a PS setting that might have been altered when I did the install. That said, maybe the Aperture install had nothing to do with this and it's just a coincidence. Either way all my 'Save As' images are disappearing. Any ideas would be appreciated.
Part 2: Another anomality is that I used to be able to move images from the desktop to a folder. Now when I do that I am just moving a copy of the image and the original stays on the desktop. I did not change anything so how and where do I make the change to actually move the original, not just a copy?
playing around with the brushes and I think I must have hit something and now I cannot find some of the default brushes.
I know I did not hit delete or anything and I have hit 'reset brushes' but they don't come back.
Is there anything I can do to get them back?
I have an old computer with PS CS installed (an upgrade version based on an original PS 7 install). I now have a new computer (instead of, not in addition to the old one!), need to install CS on that, and cannot for the life of me find the PS 7 install disk. I have the CS install disk, and I have the S/Ns for both, but not the PS 7 disk. The CS disk won't install because it can't find an installed product.
View 4 Replies View RelatedAs a result of the Adobe's updater advisement of an update, I updated CS3. Upon initializing CS3 everything looked as if all settings had been reset to defaults, and I lost custom actions. Does anyone have an idea if the actions are permanently lost and if so how to prevent future occurances after and update.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI've just reinstalled Windows on my PC, and have to reinstall photoshop CS2 as well. But, I've lost my install disc. I've called Adobe to get a new install disc, but they only have CS3 and up :(
Is there anyone who can copy the CD for me, because as Adobe said, this would the only option left, otherwise I must upgrade my license to CS4 :-(

I was working with 3D 6 hours ago and it worked just fine. Now, after the update, it won't.
i lost in PS6 my bar with the three colored 'balls'. And PS stuck on the finder bar of Mac osx. I can not move the complete PS frame any more. I tried already the 'F' key, Tab button with or without the Shift key, restarted my system, but nothing seems to work.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI edited a lot of pictures and saved them somewhere in my external hard drive, but don't know where, i'm afraid i might have overlaid the folder with a previous version of it so, my question is, is there any way to see where you've saved your edited pictures, or, does Photoshop save it in somewhere else besides the folder that you've "save as…"'ed ?
View 4 Replies View RelatedHaving no previews when opening a file from Windows Explorer? I realise Adobe wants us to use Bridge but I'm sure I am not alone in finding this unstable and slow.
Another forum recommends intalling Sagethumbs which is great for showing thumbails in Windows folders, and also shows really tiny thumbnails when opening a file in Detail view. But I really miss having the preview pane to see full size images when selecting a file to open in Detail view.
when resiging an image I no longer have pixels as an option, just picas inches etc. no pixels
View 1 Replies View RelatedLoving all the features there in ,so many to look and learn I was playing around in after effects last night, and i got stuck when it came to mixing two different videos as one, i found and played around with the effects settings but when i went to put some text in i had no idea where i was i got lost then confused and ended up just closing the program without saving anything.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm using Mac OSX10.6.8. I have an Epson Perfection 2400 scanner that I would access in Photoshop CS4 under File/Import/Epson 2400. And then scan.
After I installed PS CS6, that palette option is gone. How do I access my scanner again?
Just got CS6 and I cannot find the little percentage figure that used to sit at the bottom left corner to give an indication of the image size you are viewing and allow you to alter it. I'm sure it must be in there somewhere but I can't find it - and believe me I've looked.
View 6 Replies View RelatedSomething corrupted my installation of CS5 a month or so ago after it had been working correctly and I lost all the image file associations. Photoshop worked fine but only if I directly opened files from within. Also all the other image packages were missing from the file association list in the Windows 7 file associations tool, not just Photoshop. Using the Windows tool to find the programmes dot exe file and create an association also locked up at the select the right package phase.
I have fixed this now and my reason for posting is that several previously suggested fixes in both the MS Windows fora and elsewhere on these Adobe forums were either very complicated requiring direct registry editing or didn't work. It has taken me a while to find a work-around that worked, hence this post.
1) Firstly - as is stated elesewhere the obvious answer of simply reinstalling Photoshop over the existing copy doesn't work! Unfortunately it was a while before I found this out, with several time wasting retries of this as a fix attempt.
2) Not saying this is guaranteed to work in every case but I ran a 3rd party free Registry Cleaner tool, this appears to have fixed the bug in the registry allowing the Windows 7 File Associations tool to work properly again. Once that was fixed linking up each graphic type was simple.
Reason for posting is I wasted lots of time thinking the issue must have been a legacy from my earlier instal of a trial version of Master Suite or the older Photoshop 7 being replaced even though my CS5 edition had been working Ok for some time. because this is what is given as the usual cause. However I think in my case it was after loading and then deleting other graphics software, possibly Real Player, which had grabbed the associations and corruped registry settings somehow at uninstall. It appears registry cleaner restored the corruption and allowed the standard Win 7 tool to work again.
