Photoshop :: Lost My Color After Install
Mar 1, 2008When I boot the computer - dell - running xp sp2 - the colors are normal - but when I log in it goes to all gray scale...
Here is what happened:
I loaded an older version of photoshop 5.5 and then opened it up - it asked me to calibrate my monitor and walked me through a wizard. before I was even finished it turned everything gray and that's the way it is now...

Oct 4, 2007Have worked within Photoshop for about a year now and just recently lost dynamic colors in the color Library. Example: no longer can get cherry red. My Illustrator still shows this bright color, web based images show this red, so it's not the monitor. My RGB 255 red, 0 green and 0 black comes out orange.

May 24, 2005I was recently using a dual monitor set-up with PS 6.
Since I switched to using 1 monitor, I haven't been able to locate my color picker window.
I click to change the foreground color, the eyedropper tool is selected, but no color picker window.
I've tried to go back to the dual monitor set-up, but I still can not find the picker window.
I have also tried to reset all windows, but that does not reset the location of where the window displays.
Is there anyway to bring this window to the forefront?

Apr 27, 2005In my PS7.0 I have lost my greys...It always shows brown even when I enter #333333 or anything grey. If I transfer the color to Image ready it shows the color in grey like it should be seen.

Apr 17, 2013I'm trying to put a GIF into a Kindle book. The GIF itself looks great, and I'm pretty darn good at formatting books if I do say so myself.
For some reason, the black in my GIF images are becoming transparent once loaded to a Kindle mobi file. Now I've used GIFs from Gimp like this before, so it doesn't really make any sense... I've not done anything (as far as I know) to make it transparent, and it's definitely not transparent in the GIF itself.
I tried changing the color of the text, but that hasn't made any difference, so I'm led to believe it's something I'm doing wrong with the text tool, but what that could be.
Lightroom :: Color Labels Lost On Transition From One PC To Another
Feb 18, 2012I started using a mac laptop in the field and always used windows pc at home. A portable hard drive holds the lightroom catalog. It's fat32 formatted so it can be used by both mac and windows.
A catalog made by the mac lightroom opens fine in windows. However, all the color labels are lost. The flags and stars are retained.
If a color label is changed on a photo by the windows version of lightroom, then when that catalog is opened on the mac, that photo has no color label. (even though the mac originally gave it a color label)
And all the original color labels that were made by the mac magically return as they were assigned.
To trouble shoot this, I installed the Lightroom 3.6 trial on 2 other pcs - one runs windows 7 32 bit and the other windows 7 64 bit. These installs see the mac created catalog properly.
All the color labels are there and changing one on a windows box is properly reflected on the mac when that catalog is opened.
This is so annoying.My main pc must have an allergy to my mac. I removed and reinstalled lightroom on my pc-same problem. Now i have to figure out what is interfering with my main pc lightroom install.
It cant be lightroom cause i removed it and reinstalled it. but it might be one of the plug ins i use. these magically reappearred even after i reinstalled lightroom after removing it.

1. When we copy / paste text within illustrator all color information is lost.
2. When we save documents in Illustrator CS6 then re-open text with color attributes changes to different random colors!!
For example: If we save an Illustrator document with a paragraph of text that is part red and part black when we re-open the same paragraph might be all gray, or orange or (you pick a color).

Photoshop :: Lost PSD File CS6
Jun 4, 2013So, after many hours of work, and many saves, it seams I have lost a PSD file. After the program was responding very slowly, I decided to close and restart. While saving my file, there was a save error. I don't remeber exactly what it said, but it was something similiar to the filename was invalid. I thought nothing of it, since I had saved just prior, and closed the file without saving. When I go to reopen what I though would be the most recent saved file, it is missing. It's not there at all. There is nothing in the autosave folder either. I have yet to restart Photoshop, hoping there is something in the memory I can recover.

Oct 24, 2012I accidentally deleted Bridge. When I try to run setup.exe from the CS2 installation disc I get: Error 1606 Could not access network location. My network access is live and other programs can connect. In CS2 Updates is greyed out.

Dec 5, 2005Until I installed Aperture everything worked fine. I would alter an image, use Save As, specify the folder where it was to be saved and then select the type of image (jpeg, png etc). The image was always in the folder I specified. Now when I do the same thing I can't find the image. I use the Finder and it says the image in question is in the folder where I save it but it's not there.
Is there a PS setting that might have been altered when I did the install. That said, maybe the Aperture install had nothing to do with this and it's just a coincidence. Either way all my 'Save As' images are disappearing. Any ideas would be appreciated.
Part 2: Another anomality is that I used to be able to move images from the desktop to a folder. Now when I do that I am just moving a copy of the image and the original stays on the desktop. I did not change anything so how and where do I make the change to actually move the original, not just a copy?
Photoshop :: Lost Some Brushes
Jan 7, 2005playing around with the brushes and I think I must have hit something and now I cannot find some of the default brushes.
I know I did not hit delete or anything and I have hit 'reset brushes' but they don't come back.
Is there anything I can do to get them back?

Sep 17, 2008I have an old computer with PS CS installed (an upgrade version based on an original PS 7 install). I now have a new computer (instead of, not in addition to the old one!), need to install CS on that, and cannot for the life of me find the PS 7 install disk. I have the CS install disk, and I have the S/Ns for both, but not the PS 7 disk. The CS disk won't install because it can't find an installed product.

Upon initializing CS3 everything looked as if all settings had been reset to defaults, and I lost custom actions. Jul 13, 2012Having no previews when opening a file from Windows Explorer? I realise Adobe wants us to use Bridge but I'm sure I am not alone in finding this unstable and slow.
Another forum recommends intalling Sagethumbs which is great for showing thumbails in Windows folders, and also shows really tiny thumbnails when opening a file in Detail view. But I really miss having the preview pane to see full size images when selecting a file to open in Detail view.
