I have an Epson 4870 scanner which I'm using with my Vista Home Premium (32 bit)software. When I first installed it, it worked fine. However, some update came along and made that a thing of the past. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling. (The drivers are said to be Vista compatible, and they were for a while) I've searched the forum and Googled, but the only new advice I've seen is to turn off the Vista UAC or whatever, which opens the computer to security risks. Even with UAC off, it still doesn't work. I've considered getting a V700 or V750, but the reviews I've read don't show a significant difference in quality over the 4870, and I don't have enough 8x10 transparencies to warrant purchasing for that alone. I've also uninstalled and reinstalled CS3, trashed preferences, jumped over the moon while spinning counterclockwise, etc.
My scanner, Epson 4870, is not in the import section in CS4. It's there for CS3. Instead I get a basic low tech wia option - which is ,well, too low tech for any practical use.
Does CS4 see your scanners?
The scanner will load up separately and I can still scan but it won't import into photoshop cs4.....
I converted my operating system from Windows XP to Windows 7 and I cannot get my Epson Perfection 4870 photo scanner to work with it. I downloaded the driver and it took, but my scanner does not appear in Elements 11 as an import. I used Elements 3 and 7 before and these worked fine with the scanner.
When I select my R1800 printer in CS3 (it is not my default printer) all the dialogue forms throughout the printing process take about 2 minutes each. It practically freezes the computer. It happens immediately when I select the R1800 and disappears completely as soon as the last dialogue form is done (and the printer starts reacting).
I have Vista and CS3 working fine at home with an R2200 Epson. It works fine with the other printer on my network (a Ricoh Multi-function system).
I was using this card in a previous machine on Windows XP 32bit and the OpenGL feature worked great! Since then, I've upgraded to a Quad Core AMD machine with 8 gigs of ram; same video card but on Windows XP 64bit to make use of the additional ram. However, even with the newest ATi drivers, the OpenGL feature is greyed out. I've done some reading and it seems like I'm not the only one with this problem. In Catalyst Control Centre, it says OpenGL version 6.14.10.8664.
IÂ am trying to use Epson perfection 4180, which I used for CS2, The download of the TWAIN plugin from the Adobe website, which is promised to make this function, does not work.
I bought an Epson R280 printer that can print directly on the DVD. But when I try to print from Photoshop, it always comes out off centre.
I tried to print using the software that came with the printer which worked perfectly. But I prefer to use Adobe (photoshop,encore, etc.). Has anyone else had similar problems or know of solutions?
I am unable to print from Photoshop CS6 to two different Epson printers - an Epson 9800 and an Epson 7880. I have tried to print from three different computers (OS 10.6 and OS 10.8) and have also tried three different USB cables. Each time I get the same results - the computer acts like it sends the data to the printer, but the printer never prints anything. I am not getting any error messages. I am attepting to print a 3960x2160, 720 DPI RGB TIF image. I tried printing from Preview as a test but that didn't work either. Â I have tried reinstalling drivers, turning the computer and printers on and off, cleared my caches and repaired permissions, but so far no luck.However there is ONE situation in which I am able to print - if I save the image as PDF and print it from from Acrobat, specifically with "Acrobat Color Management" selected, it WILL print. If I try to print from Acrobat with "Printer Manages Colors" selected, it will not print.
I am having problems printing from Photoshop CS6 to an Epson Pro 3880 in paper sizes 13x19 and 17x22. I have not had this problem several weeks ago, but it has shown up in the past week.Â
I worked with Epson Tech support and we were able to determine that the problem was with Photoshop which took several days working with tech support. We downloaded new drivers several times and reset the printer to factory settings. Then we tried printing and still had the same problems a small print in the lower left hand corner of these larger papers. The printer prints fine on 8.5x11 paper. We then tried printing from Lightroom 4 and it did fine. So next we uninstalled Photoshop CS6 and reinstalled and still found the exact same problem.Â
My new MacBookPro using Photoshop CS4 prints just fine to my Epson 2400 and 1900 however when using my new 4900 I click "print" and the printer icon bounces once in the dock and then disappears. The printer then gyrates and makes noise but puts out no image.Â
I can print documents and images from Preview and Pages and the web on the 4900 so I know the printer can print. I have reloaded CS4 several times from my disc and the Epson driver several times to no avail.
The Epson tech guy says what appears obvious, that the printer is working fine but that PS cannot communicate with the 4900.
I have recently upgraded my Mac Pro 3.1 to Mountain Lion (10.8.3). I have Adobe CS4 Design Standard and I used to print to my Epson SP9900 (using IP connection) from Photoshop CS4 without any problems using native Epson drivers. I downloaded the most recent drivers from Epson for SP 9900 on Mac OSX 10.8 but now prints come out as shattered, garbled or offset multiple times. Only from Photoshop, as Illustrator CS4 prints fine. As are other applications, including browsers and Microsoft Office.
I removed all the drivers and printer queues, reinstalled Design Standard CS4 and newly downloaded drivers from Epson and the first print came our OK. Then the second printed the same as before - garbled and offset.Should I try CS5 (I have the installer disc and license), or would I have the same problem? Am I facing the prospect of going back to Snow Leopard (if that is possible without completely reformatting my drive), or are there configuration options not apparent during standard installation?
I use a MacBook Pro to print to an Epson 9800 roll printer.All of a sudden, the Epson is laying down huge quantities of ink, especially when I print onto film (for screen printing). It puts down so much ink, the ink dribbles down the film and drips off the printer, pooling on the floor, until I leap up and cancel the job. What's more, the printer is printing a light-colored background to images that had no background to begin with. Â Here's the catch: *this only happens in Photoshop.* (I'm using CS 5.1.) If I take the same image file, place it in Illustrator, and print it, it comes out just fine. So the problem lies in Photoshop's print options.
It does, however, print happily to a USB Epson 2200 plugged into the same machine. All other apps on this Mountain Lion Mac Mini, including CS4 Illustrator, print fine to the 4900. I have tried both a USB and a network connection to the printer with the same result. There is *some* small output to the printer (just a flash on the print monitor), but no output results.Â
Photoshop will not print on my epson 837 but will print on other printers and other apps can print on this 837. Â I do get an error message that I should reset the Printer's color management in the Printer's dialog box, but when I click Print to get to the dialog, it just disappears. Â PS - I have uninstalled and reinstalled the printer on the mac; then again after downloading a fresh driver from epson...though this is unlikely to be the problem since I have now confirmed that every other app prints just fine. Â I deleted all of my paper presets and tried making new ones... I keep getting this error msg and don't know what it means or how to correct the color sync: Â ColorSync color matching may produce different results than printer color management. Either Photoshop color management or printer color management is recommended.
I cannot print landscape mode images to my Epson from Photoshop 5.5. None of these combinations work: Choose Landscape in both PS and Epson dialogue: results in a portrait format cropped image. Choose Landscape in either one of the two dialogues: same thing happens. Print from Lightroom to Epson: results in correct landscape format print but there is no method of printing actual size. As I print DVD covers it is essential that the printer prints actual size! I used to be able to print correctly to my KM laser printer, but they have not bothered to upgrade their drivers to Win 7, so that makes the printer worthless. I have already talked to Epson at length. They insist the fault is with CS5.5 and not with their drivers. (I have the latest Epson drivers installed.)Â

I want to buy and Epson 4000 printer for my art photos - I've always done film but I'm switching to digital finally and got 2-3 years worth of stuff scanned. I want to make nice, high-quality, archival prints. Should I buy the regular 4000 printer or the Pro? There is something about Post RIP devices in the Pro - I don't use InDesign, at least not yet, but I have heard that the colors and color targets are better with the Pro. I am still learning the all about digital stuff so I am a little uncertain but I have been doing photography for a long time and I want to make excellent prints. Is it worth the extra $350 or so?
I am using a trial version of CS4 that I just downloaded & installed (works fine). I tried installing Epson's ICC color profile for the 1280 printer with the P.I.M. II Plug-in v2.2 installer from the Epson website (http://www.epson.com/cgi-bin/Store/support/supDetail.jsp?BV_UseBVCookie=yes&oid= 14387&prodoid=28907797&infoType=Downloads&platform=All).Â
It doesn't install and gives the following error:"Adobe Photoshop 6.0/7.0/CS or Photoshop Elements 1.0/2.0/3.0 was not found on your computer. The plugin was not installed." Has anyone else encountered this? Epson tech support was no help ("...Call Adobe").
Q: Does this error happen with the full CS4 version (not just the trial?)
Q: Perhaps CS4 includes the Epson ICC's with no separate installation of Epson software? If I select print from CS4, there is a Epson Stylus Photo 1280 available in the Printer Profile drop down. I wonder if I am missing anything by not being able to install the PIM ICC profil?
I am having a very difficult time getting color matched prints with CS4 and my R2880 Epson printer. I had no issues with CS3. I have tried every combination available to me and I get very drab almost browinsh prints. I have the latest drivers and also have upgraded to Vista, no change there at all. I am using the proper ICC profiles as well.
Photoshop 7.0 imported the first image very red. Then it wouldn't import saying "Could not complete the import command because of a problem with the aquisition module interface". I am using Windows XP, Photoshop 7.0, and Epson Perfection 3200 Photo, trying to scan a color photo.
Is anyone using the Epson Stylus Photo 890 with Vista 64 bit? I cannot find drivers or profiles for that combination of OS and Printer. I have searched everywhere on the web.I need drivers or this printer is history ( yes it already is history but still works fine otherwise).
My Epson Stylus Pro 9600 has a problem with CS3 printing. When printing large images (i.e. 36x60) a portion of the image would be missing at the bottom (blank) The 10.01 update addressed this issue but it seems not completely. The problem was attributed to using a "Custom" print resolution however I still have this problem and after much testing I have narrowed it down to the "Finest Detail" check box under the custom, advanced tab. Checking this "Finest Detail" check box reproduces the problem.
I have a problem with CS3... When I want to print a 100x300cm or longer banner with Epson 9800 the print preview of Epson doesn't show the complete document. A1 to B0 jobs has no problem. At the print preview 1/3 or 1/4 of the banner is blank...With CS2 there is no problem.
I install the updates for CS3 but problem is still on.
I sellected the PDF printer as default.(I read this in a forum)
I have 2 9800, 1 9880 and 5 4800 on a network...
With CS3: If I save the banner in PSD, PDF, JPEG, TIF format doesn't matter. Same problem.
I try the job on Corel X3 as JPEG it doesn't read anything on some PC's, the print preview is blank. Some PC's read the document with Corel X3.
I cannot print photogrpaic images with my desktop MAC (OS X10.8.4) from Photoshop Elements 9.0 to my new Epson XP-800 printer. Printing is not a problem with Word text or images from iPhoto- it is only with PSE that there is a problem. The problem persists even if I try using a cabled connection rather than WiFi. I have ensured latest software from Epson has been downloaded. This problem did not occur when using the same system with the previous printer (Epson Photo Stylus 1290).  Any workaround of moving the edited PSE image back to iPhoto & printing from there (which admittedly does work but shouldn't be necessary).
I am using Photoshop CS4 and trying to print using my Epson PX710W with my New MacBook Pro (OS X 10.8.2 - Mountain Lion) but every time I send a photograph to print it comes out blank? Â I am trying to print on to Epson Premium Glossy (4x6) Paper and I have tried other types of paper and sizes but every time it is blank. I always select the correct Paper Profile in the Print Menu depending upon the paper I am using and I select the correct size and paper tray. The print will print from Photoshop if I dont select an Epson paper profile but whenever I use the Epson Profiles it wont work. I even tried reinstalling the paper profiles but nothing happened, and the print remained Blank! Â The Printer works with all paper through any other programme just not Photoshop CS4!
printing on my new 3880 through Photoshop CS5 on an iMac 10.6.8. Using Photoshop CS5 as 'color handling'-- the color mode is greyed out (can't change it) in the print settings. How can I change the color modes? Mostly turn off color management so I can use ICC printer profiles?
