Photoshop Elements :: How To Delete Older Cache Files

Jan 24, 2013

I am running out of space on my SSD that elelments likes to place all the cache file onto. Is there a way to delete the older cache files just keeping the most recent which I assume has the latest catalog information? Is there a way to move the cache files to a different location that has more space keeping the system in its current state?

Photoshop :: Delete Legacy Cache Files?

Jun 24, 2009

I've upgraded from CS to CS4 and find what I think are local cache files in photo directories from both versions.  It appears CS wrote AdobeP8M.md0, AdobeP8P.tb0 and AdobeP8T.tb0, while CS4 writes .BridgeCache and .BridgeCacheT.  Can I delete the many GB's of Adobe P8* files with no ill effects?  I no longer use and have uninstalled CS.

Photoshop Elements :: Delete Multiple IPhoto Files From Organizer?

Jan 14, 2014

I downloaded a trial version of Elements 12.  I used Elements 6 a few years ago on a PC, now I have a MAC and there's a lot of difference between version 6 and 12.   I downloaded all of my I-photo files into the Organizer but would like to delete them now that I realize they are all jumbled up and basically useless.  There are 5,000 photos & several hundred folders.   I can't figure out how to select multiple folders to delete them from the organizer.

Photoshop Elements :: Set Catalogue To New Larger Internal Hard Drive And Then Delete Files From Smaller?

Mar 19, 2014

I have just had a new 1TB internal hard drive installed in my PC and then the original smaller internal 500GB hard drive cloned onto it. The new 1TB is now Local Dick C and the smaller 500GB has been changed from C and is now Local Disk F. PSE11 is running from the new C and all my pictures are on both C and F but the catalogue is pointing to F. I want to delete all of the old files on F to free up space since they are all cloned to the new 1TB C, so I want the PSE11 catalogue to point only to the pictures on C. I have tried creating a new Catalogue and importing my pictures from C. The images come in and look connected to C but, when I close PSE11 and then reopen that new catalogue, the image path reads F, as does the original catalogue. So, now I have two catalogues apparently point to F but I want to: 1) have only one catalogue pointing to C; 2) the delete catalogues pointing to F; 3) then reformat F: so I have a clean 500GB old hard drive for future expansion.

Lightroom :: Selectively Remove DAT Cache Files For Certain Image Files?

Feb 2, 2013

I'm using LR 4.3, and would like to know how to determine which .dat cache files are associated with a certain folder of images. I don't know programming code, and, when I open a .dat cache file, I cannot determine which image file it goes with.

I've noticed that when I remove a folder from Lightroom, the cache files for the images in that folder remain, because the size of the cache doesn't change.  I know I can flush the cache, but I don't want to have to reload tons of .dat files already present in the cache.

AutoCAD LT :: 2013 Unable To Save Files For Older Versions?

May 24, 2012

I have a newly downloaded version of AutoCAD LT 2013 that will not save files in older formats for autocad 2004 and 2007. When trying to save the user gets the following error message "One or more objects in the drawing cannot be saved to the specified format. The operation was not completed and no file was created."

I did some searching in the discussion groups and it appears that this is a known/common issue with autcad lt 2013. Is there a work around to saving it in a format that older autocad applications can view?

Lightroom :: Importing Older Camera Raw-adjusted RAW Files With XMP Sidecars

Feb 26, 2013

When I import CR2 files (Canon RAW) that have XMP files alongside them into my Lightroom 4 catalog, Lightroom correctly reads image adjustments from XMP files and assigns them as Develop settings for the newly imported photos. This is how I expected it to be. Lightroom assigns older process version to these files, as it should be.

One quick question I have though: once I imported all these CR2 files into my collection, is it safe to delete all those XMP sidecar files immediately? I assume that Lightroom stores all Develop settings in the catalog file at the moment of the import and that XMP sidecars are no longer necessary. Is that correct? Or do I have to enter the Develop mode with each imported file first, before deleting the XMP in order to make old settings to "stick"?

Illustrator :: Creating 100s Of Invisible Cache Files OS X?

Jul 11, 2013

We have 8 designers all running identicle systems, but one user is constantly using up their disk space quota, I've traced the problem to the fact that when they use illustrator it writes loads of 16.8 Mb files to their Library > Cache folder all called .afpdeleted followed by a series of numbers.

This doesn't happen with any of the other users.

He is using:

Mac Pro 2.66Ghz 12Gb RAM
OS X 10.7.5 ( this is as far as this mac can be updated)
Network Home Login

It is happening on illustrator CS6 and also on illustrator CC. What is happening and why it is only happening to this one user?

AutoCAD .NET :: Can Cache Files Manually / Faster Xref When File Cached

Jan 15, 2013

I have noticed that a file is xrefed much faster if the file has been opened at some point. (Wtih the file I tested with it was 45 sec vs 1,5 sec) This must mean that the file is cached and can very quickly opened later if it has been opened.

I have an application that xref other files as overlay xref's. This is very slow since the xrefed files haven't been opened. And it will be this slow every time i xref them since they are never opened. Is there a way I can cache the files manually or something like that?
