I bought elements 11 and while in editor, i cannot get the "guided" tab to initialize. The other tabs work jut fine, but the guided tab will not open. This is the one that will probably be used the most. What do I need to do? I am using the MAC version.
View 2 RepliesI have installed actions / effects which i have paid for and have finally got them working in EXPERT mode but now when I go into GUIDED mode into PSE 11, I have no editing options to chose from (for example the cropping option, straightening, vignetting, EVERYTHING is gone)
What have i done and how do I get these options back?

View 5 Replies View RelatedI have Elements 11 (version 11.0), running on Mac OS 10.7.5. The QUICK and EXPERT modes work well but the GUIDED mode never stops initializing. I see that the initializing window opens when I switch to QUICK but when I switch back to GUIDED the Initializing bar is always somewhere in the middle and never moves to the end.
View 10 Replies View RelatedI have a Mac running OS 10.7. I have Photoshop Elements 10.
When I select the Guided Edit tab, there are no options available. The only tools are zoom, hand, and set foreground color. Everything else is gone. The open file is centered in the blank page, and most of the menu items are unavailable, with the exception of filters.
I have uninstalled and re-installed the program and rebooted. I have also deleted the two database files, as suggested in another post, and they were rebuilt.
I have read enough of the help file to know that there are supposed to be guided edit options available, such as actions, enhance colors, etc. The menu bar has very few options available from the guided edit window. In fact, the only way to get back to the full edit window is to shut down and restart the program.
When I try to use the guided edition start to load but neves finish.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have used PSE 5 happily and greatly liked the auto sharpen feature. I have been forced to upgrade to PSE 11 due to Windows 8 incompatibility with 5.
I am appalled to find that the sharpen feature, including auto, does not work in Quick or Guided modes. The small previews in Quick mode show the correct sharpening effect but clicking on them or using the slider does not transfer to the main image. I either have to go into full unsharp mask, which I hate for quick fixes, or use the 'adjust sharpness' option under 'filter' in Quick or Guided Mode, which increases sharpness by an unspecified amount on each click.
Just getting used to elements 11 - the tilt shift in the guided edit does not change when I click on the icon, then click and drag. I am sure I am following instructions correctly, but nothing changes when I try to rezone the area I wish to have showing without blur. I could do in operation in the expert mode, but it should work in guided edit.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI bought and downloaded PSE11. However, I don't think I disabled my virusware. It took an especially long time to download and I don't know if it downloaded correctly. My blur tool does not work and my "guided" options are not there. What is the easiest fix- uninstall and remove the serial number then reinstall using same serial number? My question with this is- how many times can I do this, and or is there an easier fix? I have PSE11 and LR4 and I am going back and forth between which one to use. I really need all the options to work from PSE11.
View 3 Replies View RelatedA few months ago I successfully loaded Elements 11 onto my desktop. As we are going on holiday decided to load also onto my laptop. As laptop does not take discs, I decided to download as a trial and then put in serial number. It seemed to download alright but every time I have tried to instal I get the message "Installation failed to initialize". This has happened many times and I have tried rebooting etc. At one stage they got me to download Adobe Application Manager, but it was not explained, or identified, why. Adobe Application Manager seems to be for more advanced Adobe products. I have also got Adobe Download Assistant, which seems appropriate.

However, I had not used it for a couple of months because I was using the CS6 beta, which finally expired. When I tried to open PSE9, the splash screen loads fine and finishes loading everything, but when it disappears I get a dialog of "Cannot open Photoshop Elements because of a program error."
This is while running on my main admin account. It opens normally on another admin account which I do not use often, except for some text encoding issues which were not present before.
I only had Adobe Photoshop for about 2 months now. I have been using the Low Key tool in guided alot. Here recently I went to edit a photo and my reduce effect button tool will not work. I tried everything from restarting my computer and the program. I love using this tool but I can not get the reduce effect to work.

When I try to start the program for the first time - just installed it - I get the error message "Could not initialize Photoshop Elements because the scratch disks are full". The error is a fatal one - big cross on the left had side - program closes when you press OK
View 12 Replies View RelatedI`m having trouble selecting the correct constraints which will allow the pin to move up and down with in the guided slots.
Another issue i cannot seem to get perfect is the ends of the guide slots.I used fillet (fillet 2) but i do not think the pin will hot the top as there is a slope.Could the coil sketch be causing this problem.
I've recently started receiving the error message "Could not initialize Photoshop [CS] because there is not enough memory (RAM)" on a Mac with 4GB RAM. I've tried holding command + option + shift at startup to reset the preferences, but it does not seem to have fixed anything. What else can I try?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am using Photoshop 7 on Windows Vista. I just bought a new computer and installed Photoshop (which worked fine on my old computer running XP). It installs correctly but wen I launch it I get the error "Could not initialize Photoshop because the scratch disks are full." Then Photoshop immedietly shuts down.
My C drive has 1.3 TB free, my D drive has 145 GB free and my E drive has 5 GB free. I've tried defragmenting all the drives and deleting any temp files.
This message suddenly appeared when I tried to open Photoshop CS3 (Vista 64 bit) today together with advice to unlock the file using the 'properties' tab in windows explorer. Prior to today Photodshop was working fine and the only thing I've done since I last used it is to update Cammera Raw to 4.4 - reverting to to 4.3 makes no difference.
I can't see anything in Windows Explorer that does this. But ticking 'run this program as an administrator' in the 'compatibility' tab part resolves it - it allows the program to open but only after presenting me with a 'do you want this program to run?' dialog box each time it opens.
I get this error whenever I try and run Photoshop CS3.

I have a new computer that is running Windows 8 and has 32 Gigabytes of ram. Whatever the problem actually is, it's not because I don't have enough ram! I tried to remove an old version with Revo uninstaller, and when trying to install that one after, it just did that
Theres the error, in Danish though, but it says:"An error occurred the installationsprogram could not be initialized, Download Adobe support advisor to register the problem"
The problem is, i have downloaded it, but it does not fix it..
I had to get a new hard drive on my Mac and I backed everything up and reinstalled it all when I got it back. Photoshop is the only thing not working now. I try to open it and get this message:
