Long time Photoshop user, now CS6, trying Elements. All Adobe programs are up to date. How do I view the NEF files in Elements 11 or the Organizer? The thumbnails are there but blank. They do process into Elements fine, but I can't see any picture in the thumbnails.

I had originally installed it to an external hard drive expecting that I could just hook up a new computer when the time came and everything would work as before.I contacted Adobe and got the program re-installed. Now, when I open a file, I am unable to change the view in the View Menu to 'thumbnail' because 'thumbnail' is no longer an option. How can I get that option back?

Imported some media, and no problems with thumbnails.Only the next time I tried to add media, the thumbnails show 'hourglass' .. when I click on the hourglass, the photo's are there. View 2 Replies View RelatedMost the the Creative Suite misbehaves with respect to the Windows 7 taskbar. One behavior that's particularly unproductive is seeing a bunch of gray icons for open application windows, and having the associated full size peek image grayed out too. I frequently work with many open image windows that I prefer to keep undocked. If they're minimized, more often than not there's a gray taskbar preview.
Once I click on the thumbnail and activate a window, the thumbnail taskbar image updates. But when I switch between applications, the updated thumbnails will usually go blank next time I peek at the PS6 taskbar.
How do I get my thumbnails in Media to show the file name of each photo and also the date taken? Right clicking on the thumbnail reflects that the "show file info" box is checked. I have Elements 11 (was using Elements 6) and the operating system in Windows 7 and the photos are in jpeg format.

Win XP computer.
Previously ran PSP 9 and PSP X1. All was FINE with thumbnails in Windows Explorer.
Purchased and installed PSP X5
It seem to be doing some hatchet job on pspimage files that I've had stored for several YEARS on this computer. These are files I have NOT opened in X5.
They are showing up as icons for PSP X5 although they were created with earlier versions of the program.
I NEVER authorized any type of conversion. Why would I?
And how do I get the view back without having to install any other program since the view was FINE before installing X5?
When I open my lightroom, I am not able to view any thumbnails to select for importing. I am able to view slideshows though? How do I view my thumbnails so I can import?

you click on a date and the thumbnails load, but as you click on the image, it pauses and then shows you the real image in the Navigator (in this screencap, the image has not yet refreshed in the navigator).
i tried rendering previews, but it didn't fix the problem (after hours of the processing). I've rebuilt the catalog when moving to a larger harddrive, but I don't want to reimport everything to a new catalog because i don't want her to lose her edits to her photos. i'm not entirely certain if "Optimize Catalog" will fix the problem.

It happens more when i import eps files:
the 'layers only' toggle of the object manager will go blank; the toggle where the master layer and all objects are listed still works, just the layers only listing goes blank. All files opened after the event will do the same, requires a shutting down of CorelDraw and restart to bring things back to normal.

So far so good. When I click in the sheet to set the location the viewport goes empty. I can stretch the viewport to top left to get the drawing within range and then move it back to where I want to place the drawing.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI've recently installed X4 (running it on Windows 7) and for some reason when I open the scrapbook I can't preview any of the thumbnails - they just appear as a generic symbol (see below). How do I change this so that I can view the thumbnails properly?
I've also changed the settings so that once a bitmap has been inserted, I should be able to double-click to open the bitmap in Photo paint - but this doesn't work either!
I have Lightroom 4.4. and Windows 7--both of which have been working fine for several months. Starting a few days ago, however, thumbnails have refused to load for any NEW photos I import. They appear gray/blank in both Grid view and the film strip. However, if you click on any of the film strip thumbnails (while in either Grid view or Develop mode), that thumbnail and corresponding image WILL load--until up to three have done so. Then they begin disappearing again, allowing you to view no more than three images' thumbnails at any one time.
I can't review a shoot via Grid mode this way. I'm also afraid to use Lightroom while it's misbehaving, for fear of corrupting the catalog somehow (though all the images appear to be there). Searching this forum, I found several people who experienced having all of their thumbnails blank out and who were able to correct this by either reinstalling or removing their color profiling software. However, 1) I did this (and it didn't work), and 2) it isn't that all my thumbnails that have disappeared. All the thumbnails and images imported prior to the bug, still initially display correctly.* And I can get three thumbnails of the newer images to appear at a time.
*The asterisk is because after I poked around some more, I realized that if I opened other folders and began post-processing images from older uploads (vs. just viewing them), the thumbnails that initially displayed correctly everywhere also blank out and begin appearing in this up-to-three-at-a-time fashion.
