I've been trying to post this so if it gets posted twice Just installed my new CS6 PS6 and where the thumbnail view is? I have to use Bridge to see the thumbnails which adds an extra step. I know the thumbnail view is probably still there, because they wouldn't delete something like that, I just can't find it.

I had originally installed it to an external hard drive expecting that I could just hook up a new computer when the time came and everything would work as before.I contacted Adobe and got the program re-installed. Imported some media, and no problems with thumbnails.Only the next time I tried to add media, the thumbnails show 'hourglass' .. when I click on the hourglass, the photo's are there. With the same folder open in Scrapbook and Connect side by side within Draw as a test , PSD and RIF thumbnails are visible in Scrapbook but not visible in Connect.
I would prefer to use Connect over Scrapbook but these are the two main file types I use.

Win XP computer.
Previously ran PSP 9 and PSP X1. All was FINE with thumbnails in Windows Explorer.
Purchased and installed PSP X5
It seem to be doing some hatchet job on pspimage files that I've had stored for several YEARS on this computer. These are files I have NOT opened in X5.
They are showing up as icons for PSP X5 although they were created with earlier versions of the program.
I NEVER authorized any type of conversion. Why would I?
And how do I get the view back without having to install any other program since the view was FINE before installing X5?
When I open my lightroom, I am not able to view any thumbnails to select for importing. I am able to view slideshows though? How do I view my thumbnails so I can import?

you click on a date and the thumbnails load, but as you click on the image, it pauses and then shows you the real image in the Navigator (in this screencap, the image has not yet refreshed in the navigator).
i tried rendering previews, but it didn't fix the problem (after hours of the processing). I've rebuilt the catalog when moving to a larger harddrive, but I don't want to reimport everything to a new catalog because i don't want her to lose her edits to her photos. i'm not entirely certain if "Optimize Catalog" will fix the problem.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI've recently installed X4 (running it on Windows 7) and for some reason when I open the scrapbook I can't preview any of the thumbnails - they just appear as a generic symbol (see below). How do I change this so that I can view the thumbnails properly?
I've also changed the settings so that once a bitmap has been inserted, I should be able to double-click to open the bitmap in Photo paint - but this doesn't work either!
I have Lightroom 4.4. and Windows 7--both of which have been working fine for several months. Starting a few days ago, however, thumbnails have refused to load for any NEW photos I import. They appear gray/blank in both Grid view and the film strip. However, if you click on any of the film strip thumbnails (while in either Grid view or Develop mode), that thumbnail and corresponding image WILL load--until up to three have done so. Then they begin disappearing again, allowing you to view no more than three images' thumbnails at any one time.
I can't review a shoot via Grid mode this way. I'm also afraid to use Lightroom while it's misbehaving, for fear of corrupting the catalog somehow (though all the images appear to be there). Searching this forum, I found several people who experienced having all of their thumbnails blank out and who were able to correct this by either reinstalling or removing their color profiling software. However, 1) I did this (and it didn't work), and 2) it isn't that all my thumbnails that have disappeared. All the thumbnails and images imported prior to the bug, still initially display correctly.* And I can get three thumbnails of the newer images to appear at a time.
*The asterisk is because after I poked around some more, I realized that if I opened other folders and began post-processing images from older uploads (vs. just viewing them), the thumbnails that initially displayed correctly everywhere also blank out and begin appearing in this up-to-three-at-a-time fashion.
Why would psd thumbnails all of a sudden start not showing up as thumbnails, just as psd icons?

With previous versions I could get the position of the shape just by looking at the thumbnail in the layers palette but now they are only generic icons, I have tried to resize them and set panel options ( Thumbnails contents) but without any luck. It's really a problem if they are many shapes in the document.

Files will open but I need to see thumbnails to be able to select the image easily. ACR v 7.3.0.71 is installed and I have checked that this is the latest version. I am able to see NEF thumbnail images in Lightroom 4.

This mostly occurs with jpgs, made from tifs/ psds, but on rare occasion has occurred in tif/ psd too. This is not a constant issue, and I cannot fathom a pattern. I can process several images at same time and only one might be affected. I have emptied my bridge cache, so that doesn't seem to contribute.

This is only a recent problem with three of the many directories of image files. Preferences are all set the same, and the files show up in explorer. None of the attributes are set to "hidden"?
