how do I transfer my photo library from photoshop elements 10(on my external hard drive) to a new installation of photoshop elements 10 on a new computer? The first installation was on a computer with low virtual memory. I tried top fix the problem by putting in on my external hardrive. Ten, I just got a new computer and reinstalled elements, buit can't figure out how to transfer my library over to the new one.

I have PSE 11 and I am creating a Christmas theme with various pictures. I have my main photo with 6 layers including a tree and figures which I can move independantly and the background is the checkerboard as the main layers are turned off with only my selections showing. I also have another photo where I have selected part of it and also turned off the main layers leaving a small part with checkered background. When I have the main photo loaded and drag the other one from the photo bin with the move tool, nothing appears on the main picture. I have already dragged the Christmas tree in the same way and that worked. By the way, all the files are .PSD.

I have done the following multiple times with same results. Note: I have CS6 on my personal Macbook Pro, my wife’s Macbook Pro and my work PC also running CS6.
I created an original image on MY Macbook Pro using CS6. I saved this image at the highest resolution possible to my computer. I can reopen and at all sizes of zoom there is no pixilation.
I saved this file to a thumb drive (also tried emailing) and opened the file on my wife's Macbook Pro and when I zoom I begin to see pixilation. This can also be seen on the printed copy of the image whereas that is NOT the case on my MacBook Pro.
I attempted the same process to my work PC however I received the same result. what I am doing incorrectly that is causing the image to become pixelated on any computer other than my own?

After finally running out of space on my computer I've shifted my photo library onto an external hard drive. I did this outside of lightroom as I did not expect there to be too many complications
There is a general folder named "Photos" and within are the sub folders for the photos. I did a simple drag and drop from my computer to the hard drive and expected Lightroom to simple show the new directory in the folder panel.
What would be the simplest way to re-access the files since moving them to the new hard drive?

My new software lists the following: FILE (then) New, (or) Open, (or) Open As, (or) Open recently Edited File, (or) Duplicate.
[No sign of Catalogue to be found anywhere -- hence impossible to transfer files/catalogues.]
Note: I use elements for its catalogue function with Photoshop CS5 and Bridge CS5. New camera required updated RAW-read ability from the old Elements 5.
How do I transfer both the tags and the ratings (stars) from PSE 5 to PSE 11? I have years worth of pictures tagged with names and rated with stars and can't figure out how to transfer them all to PSE 11. I'm on Windows 8.

I would like to transfer my catalog of pictures to him and have it look just like it does on my computer with Album titles, keywords, etc. When we tried to do this by using a backup of my Photoshop Element files, it transferred the pictures and keywords but not the album titles or album organization. Also, the keywords were not in the same keyword categories that I had set up on my computer. Is it possible to do what I want, or do the pictures have to all be reorganized and put into albums again on his computer?

I set the Preps in Aperture for PSE 11 and the PSE 11 opens but no picture in the box or photo bin or in the top left "open".I changed the Aperture setting to the PSE Organizer and the same thing happened Organizer open BUT there was no picture to be found.

View 19 Replies View RelatedThis is from an online tutorial and is a typical view of the Library Filter. Notice that there are photo counts to the right of each of the search criteria. For example, All (2 Cameras) - 487 photos. Canon EOS 5D - 404 photos, etc.
Now notice a screen shot from my iMac with Lightroom 5.2 on OX 10.9 Mavericks.Notice that there are no photo counts after the search criteria. WHERE DID THEY GO? Or for that matter, were they ever there in this iteration of LR?Incidentally, I am aware the count will appear in the filmstrip (see the next photo) but that is not nearly as useful.

View 5 Replies View RelatedIn lightroom 3 I had a border around any photo in loupe view when I dimmed the background using the "L" key (seen only when dimmed). I don't remember ever setting it, it just seemed to come that way. I cannot get this border (which really worked to separate the photo from the background) anymore. I tried all preferences and tried to find this out in Lightroom Help before submitting this question. The border looked like the one you can add in the print module. I notice that when using the "L" key to dim, I also lose the ability to display the information overlay, even when cycling through the "I" key. Am I overlooking a setting or is this just a change to LR4?
View 2 Replies View RelatedWhen trying to place an image into a new document in photoshop elements 12, I select all-copy-paste the image (or even drag it) over to the new doc created. However, when I do this - the image does not paste in at the same size. It typically shrinks down in size. Do I have to save the file, close out and then open the new doc and PLACE it in the document in order for it to keep size? There must be a better way to do this. Basically, how can I drag a photo that is 4x6 over to a new doc while keeping the size at 4x6.
