How do I transfer both the tags and the ratings (stars) from PSE 5 to PSE 11? I have years worth of pictures tagged with names and rated with stars and can't figure out how to transfer them all to PSE 11. I'm on Windows 8.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI use a iMac to capture and tag photos as finalist. I then transfer the folder to another machine for editing. When I add the images into the editing machines lightroom, all the tags, ratings, stars, colors don't show up.
When I was on Lr3 on both machines, these tags transferred. Even when a client used Bridge, they showed up. Now, not so much.
MAc OS 10.8.2
Lr 4.2
Camera Raw 7.2
This is true of both machines.
I know it can be done, and I think I've even done it before, but I cannot remember/figure out how to maintain tag info when I transfer files. I have a new computer and would like to transfer some photos, but want to keep the tags attached, so I don't have to retag! Please help! I've written the tag information into the file and tried backup, export, and burn. The photos transfer, but no tag information.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm using Organizer 11. First time evething was ok, persons/faces were detected correctly, then after a few month Organizer doesn't detected new faces and said every time that all faces were detected already also when I imported new fotos from my camera...
(I use the german version, so I can not tell you the exact error message in english, hope you unserstand what I mean.)
As I found no solution, I created a new catalog and imported all photos including their tags newly to this empty catalog. But allready tagged persons are not persons anymore - their tags are now in the "imported keyword tags" (German: "Importierte Stichwort-Tags") and not in the "person/face tags".
How can I tell the organizer that the imported Tags are persons/faces to having no douplicates in the person-tags and normal keyword-tags?
Here some Background Information about my system:
PSE 11, Windows 8, 64 Bit 8GB, Intel i7.
3 catalogs with each 8000-10000 photos.
I have just upgraded my Swedish PSE7 to an English PSE11. Of course the people keyword tags did not get converted into people tags because People is called Folk in Swedish. I was not aware of this mechanism prior to upgrading. How can I convert those keyword tags now?
View 2 Replies View RelatedWhen I use the ratings filter with the CIB catalog of photos it works fine. But when I apply it to my own it doesn't. I follow the exact procedures but it doesn't seem to work the same way. After I have applied some star ratings to my photos, and I have all media displayed in the media browser, I go up to the filter by ratings stars and click on one of them (for example, I click on five stars). I would expect that the browser would eliminate all the images except those with a five star rating. This is how it works with the CIB images. But with mine, only some of the displayed images are eliminated, and the ones with five stars are scattered amongst the remaining images. For all of them that did not meet the criteria, there is a small circular badge with a slash line through it at the upper right of the thumbnail. I cannot get this function to perform correctly despite numerous attempts. The only thing I see as different from the CIB work is that I have stacked my photos into 5 stacks. But when I try using the ratings filter, I have expanded the stacks to show all 116 images.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI just converted from PSE 10 to PSE 11.
Now, in the Media view, over in the Tags/Info pane, I have Events, Other, and Places Tags, but no People Tags. However, when I look at individual photos in my converted catalogs, the people's names are still attached to them; the people icon is still associated with each photo so marked.
In PSE 10, when you imported new photos, you could drag People Tags from the Tags pane to one or more selected photos to quickly tag the subjects. Now, apparently, I'll have to group any new photos with people in them by hand and retype names over and over again — although those tags are already available in the catalog.
This is clearly insane. Surely Adobe hasn't taken something easy (dragging a people tag over from the right pane to a newly added photo) and turned it into something cumbersome and inefficient?
How do I get the Media view to populate the People Tags in the Tags pane along with the Existing Events, Other, and Places Tags?
I have Photoshop 11 and wish to put the star ratings to my photos. They are presently not being shown. I followed the video which states to go into View and click on Details. I did this and all the showed up was the date

I have just upgraded from PSE 9 to PSE 11 and have imported some pictures that I have tagged in another program. Importing tags for everything other than people works fine (already used tags are recognized and reused). But importing tags for people proved to be a problem. They did not merge automatically with my previous people tags in PSE. My imported people tags ar now placed under "Imported Keyword Tags" in the "Media" workspace. How do I merge or move them to the "People" work space where the people tags for PSE 11 is placed?
I also wonder why people and other tags are put in different places. Is it possible to view all keyword tags in one list/place?
i have pse9 on a xp machine. what do i need to do to have it work on my new windows 8.1 machine? i downloaded the program originally so i don't have a cd.

Instead of the listing as per the Adobe tutorial as follows: FILE (then) Get Photos & Videos, (or) New, (or) Open recently edited in Editor, (or) Catalogue
My new software lists the following: FILE (then) New, (or) Open, (or) Open As, (or) Open recently Edited File, (or) Duplicate.
[No sign of Catalogue to be found anywhere -- hence impossible to transfer files/catalogues.]
Note: I use elements for its catalogue function with Photoshop CS5 and Bridge CS5. New camera required updated RAW-read ability from the old Elements 5.
how do I transfer my photo library from photoshop elements 10(on my external hard drive) to a new installation of photoshop elements 10 on a new computer? The first installation was on a computer with low virtual memory. I tried top fix the problem by putting in on my external hardrive. Ten, I just got a new computer and reinstalled elements, buit can't figure out how to transfer my library over to the new one.

I would like to transfer my catalog of pictures to him and have it look just like it does on my computer with Album titles, keywords, etc. When we tried to do this by using a backup of my Photoshop Element files, it transferred the pictures and keywords but not the album titles or album organization. Also, the keywords were not in the same keyword categories that I had set up on my computer. I set the Preps in Aperture for PSE 11 and the PSE 11 opens but no picture in the box or photo bin or in the top left "open".I changed the Aperture setting to the PSE Organizer and the same thing happened Organizer open BUT there was no picture to be found.
In Aperture it shows the file being transferred.I looked in the PSE 11 preps and file but could not find anything.The fact that it opens the PSE 11 app tells me it is being recognized but the picture (file) is going somewhere else.
