View 1 Replies View RelatedI suddenly got problems with saving files in .jpeg format. I use camera raw in my camera, and edit photos in Element, and then save a .jpeg version of the photo, and until recently that operation has went on without problems, but suddenly I got no other alternatives than .psd. Why?

View 5 Replies View RelatedBasically I open a jpg file for editing in photoshop elements and then use "save as" to save my edited project as a jpg with a new filename in a local picture folder.
My new file however shows as
File Type: File
It will not open! the file wants me to associate a program to open it with and If I select photoshop to open the file I get a warning dialogue "Cannot open 2.5 3 Core TQ Rubber Flex because it is the wrong type of file"
This is the version of photoshop and my system info
Adobe Photoshop Elements Language Version: 10.0.0 (10.0 (20110831.m.17215))
Operating System: Windows 7 64-bit
Version: 6.1 Service Pack 1
Here is an example of one of these image files as seen on my pc.
I am working on a 3' x 10' banner with 300dpi in Photoshop and it takes all of my time to do the extra tools to do, and it takes 10 minutes to save it or more. I have powerbook and CS6 on me. I put the highest memory in Photoshop preference. So I am bearing to work with it for hours for one small assignment, but why does it takes so long? is there a better way to do to save time and speed to make the poster banner to look greater than life? even in 200 dpi?
View 10 Replies View RelatedI don't have photoshop or any tools available to me to convert files to CMYK format from RGB. Everything I've tried hasn't worked and I need these done to send them off to be pressed (it's my bands cd cover and cd print).
View 1 Replies View RelatedI made an image using CMYK (for printing later on), and the color is fine when I try to print it onto printing paper by just selecting the Print button on PS. However, when I saved the image as a .JPEG, the color changes drastically.
View 2 Replies View RelatedThis has started to happen to me recently, working across indesign and Photoshop, for some cutouts it is easier to have a "pure white" background (0%c, 0%m, 0%y, 0%k) rather than transparency, it keeps down file sizes and speeds up workflow etc - plus sometimes press images just come like that.
recently I have noticed that some images, despite being saved as a "pure white" background, are coming out with 1%c, 1%m, 1%y, 0%k backgrounds once I re-open them. Doesn't matter if I save, Save as, copy the image, duplicate it, I keep getting the 1% color back in. This is occasionally causing problems with printers.
When I save a PDF file in Photoshop CC in CMYK color with JPEG compression (quality = high), it will save without any errors. However, when I open the file in Acrobat, I get an "Out of Memory" pop up error. I press Ok, and the document is just displayed as a blank white image.
I'm using Win7 64-bit, Photoshop CC 64-bit. Plenty of memory (24GB) and allocated RAM in preferences, and I've done some troubleshooting that leads me to believe the error is not due to system memory, but rather a specific bug in the software. I have Photoshop CS6 on the same machine, and if I open the PSD, save as PDF with the above settings, everything is fine when I open it using Acrobat. This seems to just be for Photoshop CC, not CS6.
Here is the troubleshooting I've done so far:
PDF format, RGB color, any other settings --> Acrobat can open the file.
PDF format, CMYK, no compression --> Acrobat can open the file.
PDF format, CMYK, JPEG compression [medium] --> Acrobat can open the file.
PDF format, CMYK, JPEG compression [high] --> Acrobat can NOT open the file because it encounters the "out of memory" error.
PDF format, CMYK, JPEG compression [maximum] --> Acrobat can open the file.
How can you format or resize the photos as wide screen format so they will display in wide screen mode on Sony photo frame players?
View 1 Replies View RelatedAbout once a year I ask about a capability to output a file fromGimp in pdf format and the CMYK color model. In addition it would benice if this output was in the PDF X/1-a:2001 format, to satisfycertain fussy printers. I know there are external converters likeImageMagick. It would however be nice if after all these years Gimpcatered to the needs of the printing industry.
View 4 Replies View RelatedWhen I convert an RGB psd to CMYK color mode in photoshop everything works normally, but when I save as a TIF and open the file in any application other than Photoshop any white space in the image background is yellow.
I am running Photoshop CS4 on Mac OS 10.5.8.
I am saving my images (assembled in GIMP), exporting as jpgs then converting to pdf pages. My end product needs to be one pdf, so I will be inserting these separate pages into one 44-page pdf.
I need to retain the 300 resolution (actually, somewhere the resolution has slipped to 299.98 which I'm hoping will be so near it'll look fine). (using MacBook OS 10.6.8 with the GIMP 2.8 version)I think for the ebook, the RGB of my GIMP images will be best. So, I've got that, or will have as soon as I do all the export/saving.
(as an alternative, for the paper printed version which will precede the ebook), how do I save the RGB images to CMYK which I understand will print more true to what I'm seeing on my actual paintings > images in GIMP on my computer screen (the two of which look the same at present)? And at what point in these steps is it best to do the new CMYK version?

I'm working on a Mac in Photoshop 7. I also have CS3 but I haven't created any brushes in 10 yet.
I just purchased Photoshop Elements 7, hoping for a simpler piece of software.
1. It comes with no manual so I'm no better off than with the company installed Photoshop 7 software from several years ago.
2. When I go to save a photo I have no option to save as a jpeg/jpg file.
When I try the Help tab, I eventually find that PSE 7 does supposedly save in jpeg/jpg format. If it does where the heck is that option in my save/save as menu?
I can't seem to save anything as a GIF file on Photoshop, not even regular ol' GIF images I haven't modified at all. It's not listed as a possible extension in the Save As window.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI created an action that includes changing the format in the Save for the Web feature to .png. When I run the action independently it works fine and saves the file as a .png, when I run this same action as a Droplet it saves the files as .psd. This has worked in previous versions, but I can't figure out why it does not work now. Perhaps something has changed in the File Naming section?
This fails to maintain the .png format in both the Mac and PC versions.
I just recently updated to the Creative Cloud and now when I'm trying to save my file in Photoshop to any file format other then PSD, it will randomly choose a file format that I didn't choose.
For example, if I choose to save the file as a jpg, the file extension after the name at the top will say iff. No matter what I choose, nothing matches the file extension being shown at the top. So, I have to go through each file format to see which one will show the jpg extension
When trying to save a .CR2 file into JPEG format, CS5 automatically switches to the 'hand' icon for resizing the image in the window.
Sometimes it is possible to 'escape' from this, but the problem repeats and the only way out is to 'close' the image (the only option available). CS5 then crashes out. (64bit CS5 on Win 7 Ultimate).
I have downloaded CS6 on two computers Running 10.7.5. I have been operating on CS5 with no problems.Running CS 6 when I open a nef and try to save as it shows png as the save as if I try and change it a jpg it shows as.iff. When I open a tiff and try to do a save as the, format is empty when I click and set as psd it will do the psd. If I try and save as jpg it changes to a .ff file

I made lots of gifs a year ago, the problem is now I want to edit them, but in order to do so I will have to degrade quality futher as I will have to work directly on these gifs.
I want to prevent this from happening in the future, is there any convenient way to save frames that will compose the gif as well as the text elements in a consistent format that will ensure the quality?
I already tried to save into a PSD file, unfortunately it appaears that the frames are not included into the PSD file, they stay in the original folder.
My method is Open > Image sequence > I do what I have to do > Save as...
I have started editing photos using the Photo Fix Options in Instant Fix. I have then switched to Photo Editor to fine tune my edited picture. When I use save or save as, to save the edited picture both the edited and original appear in the files. If I start in in Photo Editor and save there is an option to uncheck that reads "Save in version set with Original" However I am more comfortable with beginning in Instant Fix and then switching to photo editor. For some reason when I go to save after switching from Instant fix to Photo editor the uncheck feature is no longer available. step by step instructions to save revised photo afterusing Instant Fix first then Photo Editor.
