View 10 Replies View RelatedBasically I open a jpg file for editing in photoshop elements and then use "save as" to save my edited project as a jpg with a new filename in a local picture folder.
My new file however shows as
File Type: File
It will not open! the file wants me to associate a program to open it with and If I select photoshop to open the file I get a warning dialogue "Cannot open 2.5 3 Core TQ Rubber Flex because it is the wrong type of file"
This is the version of photoshop and my system info
Adobe Photoshop Elements Language Version: 10.0.0 (10.0 (20110831.m.17215))
Operating System: Windows 7 64-bit
Version: 6.1 Service Pack 1
Here is an example of one of these image files as seen on my pc.
For no apparent reason my PSE 11 application seems to have developed an annoying glitch whereby part way through an editing process it stops doing as requested in the "Save" options, by not saving edited files as version sets of the original file in the Organiser. The files are saved OK to My Pictures and I then get advised that a file is available to import and I have to import each one, stack it with the original, and put the edited file on top. This is driving me nuts as I have about 1000 photos to edit. My only thoughts are that I have c.30000 picture files in the Organiser (but this hasn't caused any problems in adding new files) and that the problem seems to have arisen since I started editing files directly from within an Album.

View 1 Replies View RelatedOpen an .AI file saved on a netapp or windows shared directory with full permissions (prior to saving I noted that all security groups are intact in file properties as we have 2 for read and write access)Make any changesTry to save and get the prompt: Can’t save preview, but all other information was saved successfully. The file couldn’t be found. ID = -43 (file is now corrupted and looking in security group file properties the 2 security groups designated for read and write access for the directory is now gone and shows an unknown security group????)
Save as works without a problem. Try to press save again and get This file has been modified outside Illustrator. Do you want to continue?Continue and prompted This file cannot be foundObviously the file preview icon goes from a thumbnail of the file to a generic iconWhen I try to open the file I get: Can’t open the illustration. The file is locked or in use.It led me to believe the issue was either OS X or CS5.5. I was able to open the file fine on Windows Illustrator CS5.5 make a slight change and resaved (which fixed the file and opens again in OS X and read/write security groups show up again?)Optionally, I was also able to fix the file to where I could open it in OS X by simply giving myself Read/Write access to the file from Get Info
Notes:No issues with the same file in 10.7.x.
I've tested on all available Mac Pro / MacBook Pro machines and issue doesn't seem to happen on MacBook Pro retina?Photoshop and InDesign not affected
When i edit a picture and save it, it saves both copies in my organizer as edited rather than leaving the original as is.
View 1 Replies View RelatedWhy won't my photo album copy to a disc or another folder on the hard drive. It shows that it copied but when you try to open it it says no files found. For some reason adobe element 11 is blocking my album from going anywhere but to shutter-fly or to stay in the create of 11. I have worked 2 day on my album and not i can't get it published into a book.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI just recently updated to the Creative Cloud and now when I'm trying to save my file in Photoshop to any file format other then PSD, it will randomly choose a file format that I didn't choose.
For example, if I choose to save the file as a jpg, the file extension after the name at the top will say iff. No matter what I choose, nothing matches the file extension being shown at the top. So, I have to go through each file format to see which one will show the jpg extension
When trying to save a .CR2 file into JPEG format, CS5 automatically switches to the 'hand' icon for resizing the image in the window.
Sometimes it is possible to 'escape' from this, but the problem repeats and the only way out is to 'close' the image (the only option available). CS5 then crashes out. (64bit CS5 on Win 7 Ultimate).
have been asked if it is possible to save jpg or TIFF files in CMYK EPS format to drop into a layout ready for PDF-ing for print using PSE 12?

View 10 Replies View RelatedI have a photobook made in PSE 8 but can't open it in Elements 12. What to do? I get the note "can not open this multi pages file".
View 2 Replies View RelatedRecently I've noticed, when uploading some photo's to my web site that the file size is rather small. I know that cropping, processing, and saving to jpeg results in file size reduction.
So ... I did a test. I took one photo shot in the raw format (the file size was about 21 mp). I then took it into Photoshop CS5 and just saved it as a jpeg ... and the file size went to 9.9 mp. I found that to be a questionable reduction.
My image size details of the test photo is:
Pixel Dimenstions:
5616 px x 3744 px
Document Size:
18.72 x 12.48 and 300 px Resolution
All of the following are checked:
Scale Style
Constrain Proportions
Resize Image
I have selected:
Bicubic (best for smooth gradients)
I saved the photo at the highest quality setting of 12
So the Question: Is this test reduction normal or am I doing something wrong with my "save as" settings
When trying to open a raw file in PSE 5 I receive the following error message
“Could not complete your request because the file format module cannot parse the file”
I checked and my camera Nikon D3100 is listed as a supported camera.
