Sep 9, 2013So when I booted up this morning and logged into the CC desktop application it told me that there was a Photoshop update available. I installed the update, opened Photoshop, and my workspace no longer exists. All of my custom settings (scratchpad color, menus, docks... EVERYTHING) has been reset to the "Essentials" workspace. And when I tried to "sync settings" to hopefully pull back my custom workspace from the "cloud" it showed that I had never synced before and seemed to have no information to pull from the cloud. So that did absolutely nothing. I had also saved my custom workspace, but it isn't an option to select in the drop-down menu.
Now I have to spend time trying to remember all of my custom tweaks before I can even get started on my work. At this rate, I'm going to have to screenshot my setup just so I have a record of my workspace in preparation for the next update that wipes out everything. I thought the whole point of "sync settings" was that a backup was kept of everything so this wouldn't happen.My experience thus far with CC has been that every update breaks something in my workflow.

Nov 16, 2011I have setup and renamed the chapters in the timeline using the Chapter Point Manager. I enter the Share section to author the DVD. Create Menu is check marked. I enter the Add/Edit Chapter to Automaticall add chapter info. I click OK and click next to choose a menu template and discover my renamed chapter info is gone and set to the default Chapter 1, chapter 2.........
I go back to the project to check on the chapters points I renamed and discover all the renamed chapters are gone. Is this a bug?

Photoshop Elements :: CR2 Files Are Being Saved As PNG And Not PSD
Feb 22, 2014When I import files into Elements 12 Organizer, I want to use the Instant Fix Smart Fix option. The CR2 files are being exported to the PNG format, and I want them to be PSD files, I don't have a way to return to the options of how to save my files by using the Instant Fix button.

Mar 17, 2013Each time I leave photoshop elements 10 (bought on Apple Store), A windows says that I don't have the required rights and my preference are not saved. Each time I restart the program it is re-installing the effect as if it's a new install. Any change done in preference window is not taken into consideration. I understood that this is because Photoshop is trying to save on root directory, which is not possible as protected. How can I change the right or tell photoshop to save the preference file somewhere else? I use Mountain Lion.

I then went back and tried to make a best of show album with my 3 star pictures and every time I sort them and save them (with Done), they go back to the original sequence (not the one I want and I saved!). The 3 albums I created earlier are now out of sequence as well and cant be resorted either.

Jul 18, 2013When I edit a picture and save the result (using either "save" or "save as" and making sure there are ticks in "Save in Elements Organiser" and "Save in version set with original"), the edited copy is often (perhaps 3 times out of 4) treated not as a new version but as a new file. When I close the edit, I am told that there is a new file in a watched folder. When I accept this, I am offered any tags which were applied to the original (which works a bit) but then have to find my way to the edited file and the original, and manually make them into a set. It adds a couple of minutes to each edit. I am using Photoshop 11 on a Windows 8 laptop with a 1000GB hard disc (with about 100GB free). My catalog is quite big- about 70,000 items. I am a long-time Elements user (since the original?). This problem is fairly new (ie months not years)- certainly since I moved to V11. This is independent of the format of the original (in my case, RAW or jpeg) or the edited file (in my case usually jpeg).

Further, why does every version of Photoshop Elements need to save older images and "convert" them for the latest product version? Jun 21, 2013Every-time I save something in PSE 11 that has text or graphics, I feel like the clarity is not even remotely close to what I was seeing in PSE. The whole thing often has a blurry/pix elated look to it. I am sure that any graphics are large files for clarity and in PSE 11 they appear very clear and sharp, I am usually saving in .png The resolution is 300.
What can I do to make sure that they save crystal clear and sharp so that once they are uploaded (to somewhere like Facebook for a timeline cover) that they don't loose that sharpness to text and graphics that I see in PSE? What is the best format to save in? I don't have this issue with pictures I am editing, it seems to just be stuff I am making.

After my first test run to edit a file, I did a "Save As" in a version set with the original. I then closed the file, but when I went to the organizer, it was not there. When I go to the folder in Windows Explorer, the edited file is present - I just can't get it to appear (alone or in a version set) in the Organizer. (FYI, I am running Windows 8).

I understand that if I save without changing the file name or type, it should put it back in the same origin file.
I tried setting my save settings in PSE to write over original and it still didn't show up. I tried making a duplicate in iPhoto and editing it .... nothing.
In the destination box that opens upon asking it to save, everything looks good. ie it appears to be saving it in an extension on an extension of a numbered file in the iPhoto library.

Dec 23, 2011I saved a photo book and while I was working on it it got closed by accident. Now I cannot open it back up into the photobook program I was working on it in. I can find the "photobook" in my saved files and when I open it, it separates each page as a file so I have to open each page separately and work on them instead of having the whole book to look at and then I can flip through the pages of the photobook and decide which page to put my photo on. I have typed this into all the help systems but nothing comes up.
