I'm having trouble with PE 12. It is not saving new versions of files in version sets even though I select the option to do so when I save-as from the editor.
Also, when I create a new file, say a photomerge panorama, it does not include it into elements even though I have selected the option to do so.
This appears to be a bug (or 2).
I have a newly downloaded version of AutoCAD LT 2013 that will not save files in older formats for autocad 2004 and 2007. When trying to save the user gets the following error message "One or more objects in the drawing cannot be saved to the specified format. The operation was not completed and no file was created."
I did some searching in the discussion groups and it appears that this is a known/common issue with autcad lt 2013. Is there a work around to saving it in a format that older autocad applications can view?
Do i use back up, export or copy/move .i want to have just i merged set pf files with no duplicates and no omissions . then i will just run one version in organizer as its so much easier.

I am able to open the file in the upgraded version but it states that it will open as a student version. Also I cannot copy and paste anything from the student version to the upgraded one. View 3 Replies View RelatedI am using PSE-11. I have been editing many pictures (cropping and enhancing) before I send them for printing. I select 6 or 8 images and send them all to the PSE-11 Editor. When I have done all the editing, I select CLOSE ALL and apply my answers to the first file to all of them. I want them to be in Version sets with the originals, and most of them are correct. However some images are stored, with the words 'edited-1' added, but they are not in Version sets, nor in the catalog. The Organizer tells me that it has found new files. Also, when saving some of the images, PSE-11 freezes and is shown as not responding for several minutes.
Yesterday, the Organizer froze for several minutes soon after I started using it.I am using my desktop PC: HP m9452p with Intel Core-2 Quad Q8200 processor, 8 GB RAM, 750 GB hard disk, and Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit.
I have over 35000 images in my catalog.
Having edited photographs in editor and saving the edited photograph, it says processing but does not save the edited version and i am left with the original.

Our IT deletes these folders from our server, so I would like to have them save to my hard drive.
After using "edit in" to take an image from LR3 to CS5, I would then save the edited image by "save as" then add -1 for an edited version, -2 for b&w, -3 for a funky edit, etc. (i.e. name-1 or name-2 would be typical file names) They would all save to lightroom. However, since I upgraded to LR4, I can't do that anymore or it doesn't save the image in LR. This has thrown my whole workflow out of whack - especially since I want to use the album module and need those versions of the images for the album.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI upgraded from CS5 to CS6 when it was released. A couple of weeks ago I uninstalled both CS5 and an old version of Photoshop Elements v7 that had been on my machine.
Even though I use CS6 I just noticed that when I look for or open a PSD file from CS6 that my PSD files are defined in the "Type" column as follows "PhotoshopElements.PSDFile.7"
I no longer have Elements 7 on my machine and I'm concerned that there might be an artifact from that old app that is being used by CS6 instead of current versions of PSD.
How to confirm I am using only current CS6 PSD conversions?

I have heard that the new Photoshop CC uses a new file system that is not compatible with older versions of Photoshop so you can only edit them in the new Cloud version of Photoshop CC.

I've recently become aware that other people are getting an error message when opening many of my my psd files if they are on earlier versions of PS and also on PSE, (including the latest version). The message is:
This document contains unknown data which will be discarded to keep layers editable. To preserve the original appearance instead, choose flatten to load composite data as a flattened image.
Three options follow: Flatten Cancel Keep Layers
When 'keep layers' is selected the file opens as normal. However, people with much earlier version (CS version 8) don't get the option to keep layers, and the layers are flattened when the document is opened.
I still have CS5 on my mac, and I find that if I take my finished file into CS5 and save it there, the customer does not get the message above, and the file behaves as it should. Those on very early version of PS can also open the files without any issues.
I've been using CS6 since it was released and have had to delve through all my files and save them in CS5. Not every file is affected and I've been unable to find a common thread.
I use Elements 7 and recently upgraded my OS to Windows 7. I now cannot save an existing .tif file as a .jpg file. The drop-down menu for "Save As" has a JPEG2000 option, which I cannot open, but no .jpg option? How come? I can open an existing .jpg file in Elements 7, so why can't I save files as .jpg? Do I have to upgrade to a more recent version of Elements to be able to do this, or what?

I made a photoshop file, saved it, and when I tried to save it as a JPEG I get an "cannot complete request due to a system error" type message.
