View 8 Replies View RelatedI use Elements 7 and recently upgraded my OS to Windows 7. I now cannot save an existing .tif file as a .jpg file. The drop-down menu for "Save As" has a JPEG2000 option, which I cannot open, but no .jpg option? How come? I can open an existing .jpg file in Elements 7, so why can't I save files as .jpg? Do I have to upgrade to a more recent version of Elements to be able to do this, or what?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI've been using an old version of Photoshop for awhile (Photoshop Elements 5.0) and it hasn't been buggy until now. I made a photoshop file, saved it, and when I tried to save it as a JPEG I get an "cannot complete request due to a system error" type message. It's a normal file, simple layers, contrast, brushes, etc., but I've tried opening normal JPEG files, drawing on it, and saving, still nothing.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm having trouble with PE 12. It is not saving new versions of files in version sets even though I select the option to do so when I save-as from the editor.
Also, when I create a new file, say a photomerge panorama, it does not include it into elements even though I have selected the option to do so.
This appears to be a bug (or 2).
After using for a few weeks, I have had a few crashes, but this morning, I could not save a photo "Due to program Error" (no codes etc). Closing out that file and losing the edits, but now I cannot open any new file? Again "due to program Error". Working on Christmas cards and gifts. Running Macbook Pro with ample disk space and hard drive availibitly.

With my main (non-administrator) account, the extension is there, but it's always in uppercase. I've tried to select the "Use lower-case" option, but it always comes in upper-case, and when I go back to the preferences, the "Use lower-case" option is unselected. In my administrator account, I can't even get the "Always use an extension" option to stay selected.

View 1 Replies View RelatedURL....I am using PSE 12 as a photo editor for Aperture 3.5.1 and the photo is duplicated (as a tiff) in Aperture and PSE editor opens with the image. When I close the file and say to save the file it brings up the save as window.
I tell PSE 12 to "on first save -- save over current file" it now brings up the "save as" window and won't save over the file (changes the file type from .tiff to .tif)
I have Photoshop CS6 and Elements Premiere 11 and both were showing estimated file sizes properly up until a couple of weeks ago, and both stopped at the same time. Using Image, Mode I have verified on both that the images I am trying to save are 8 bit and not 16 bit images. I am on Window 7, 64bit.
View 9 Replies View RelatedWhy my photoshop CS6 64 bit in windows 8 can't SAVE and SAVE AS any files?
it's ok for my Photoshop cs6 32bit,but there is not reaction when i use command file->save or file->save as ,also CTRL +S and SHIF +CTRL+S in Photoshop 64 bit
I'm running Photoshop CC 14.1.2 on Mac (OSX 10.8.5) and whenever I use "Save As…" Photoshop marks the original file as edited and asks me to save it again before I close it - even if I have not made any changes before or after using "Save as…". This behavior is breaking some of my actions and bothering me quite a bit.

It just does nothing, when I choose to save a file under "something.cpt". It works, as long as it is a JPG, but not as a CPT. I am working on a Win7, with CorelX5 in german. Support told me to reinstall.
View 15 Replies View RelatedI have just recently installed AutoCAD LT 2014 on Windows 7 (Running on an intel iMac through Bootcamp). Ever since then i am receiving notifications when performing a save.
AutoCAD is telling me it cannot perform the save and is creating a .tmp file in the same location on the server as the file should be.
this is causing major performance issues and happens almost every second time I attempt to perform a save. The issue is that we are getting multiple versions of the same file duplicating on the file server which is very quickly going to cause capacity issues considering most files are 2-4mb in size.
I am using Photoshop Elements 10 Version 10 (20110831.m.17215) and everytime I plug in a memory card to upload images it wants to upload every image on the card, even though it has previously uploaded images from that card, even though I have the "Copy New Files Only (Ignore Already Imported Files)" box ticked in the preferences Camera or Card Reader section. This gets very frustrating and time consuming when I have to go through the images every single time to uncheck the images that have already been uploaded.

View 3 Replies View RelatedPhotoshop CC will not allow me to save any files. It will bring up the "save as" window, but then it immediately disappears when trying to select a save location. No error messages, it just disappears. Running it on a Mac OS X Mavericks. Have tried uninstalling, reinstalling, created a new profile which worked for a few saves, but started doing it on the new profile as well.
View 3 Replies View RelatedWhen saving files using Photoshop CS6 I randomly receive an error message that states 'Could not save image_name.tif' because of a program error'. Sometimes a save-as works but not guaranteed. The file is being saved to a mounted server volume and sometimes the only way to get the file on the server is to save to the desktop and then copy the file back to the server. The error message does not appear on any other Adobe applications, just Photoshop.

View 2 Replies View RelatedSome of our employees are using Photoshop 7 to do some work. We just installed a new server 2 days ago (Windows Storage Server 2003) and when trying to save files from Photoshop 7 we get the error "the disk is full" now the server has 1.27 TB of space left so we know its not that.
Now the strange part of this problem, its only going on with Photoshop. the users are able to save the files to their desktop and drag them in the folders on the server with no issues, and can save from other programs to the server without issue so we know its not a permission problem.
when trying to save a file to an external hard drive directly connected to my mac g5, I get an error message sating that Photoshop can't save the file. The only way around this is for me to save the file to the desktop and then copy it to the external drive.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI've been using PS 7 for a few years and have never experienced this problem. I received a CD of client photos today (JPGs) from one of our photographers, a photographer I've been working with for a couple years. I'm able to open the files in PS 7, but when I try to save any of them after adjusting, it gets to the final SAVE prompt, I click SAVE and get an error saying "Could not complete your request because of a program error". This happens with every file on the CD. I checked the file properties and they're correct. Nothing locked.
I tried opening one of the files in PS 5.5 and was able to save with no problem. Then when I opened that file in PS 7, I was able to do a save. But none of the others will allow a save...just that one file I'd opened and and saved in PS 5.5.
Also, in PS 7 I'm able to save the files as TIFs, but when I try to resave the TIFs as JPGs, I get the same error. Odd
I'm not having problems with other JPG files on other CDs, just this one. Our salesman told me the photographer said he's using "new software", so I'm wondering if it's possible the new software could be doing something to the files that PS 7 can't handle but PS 5.5 can?
I'm using WIN XP Pro.
PSE 12 has a new feature under Preferences/Camera or Card Reader called "Alutomatically Stack RAW and JPEG." Checking this will stack a RAW & JPEG file combination, i.e., when shooting with the camera's RAW + JPEG setting checked. In my case PSE 12 appears to stack my Panasonic RAW files and each JPEG thumbnail shows the right facing arrow to expand the stack. When I click the arrow the arrow disappears but the stack does not expand to reveal the RAW file. The RAW file still exists on the hard drive, but I can't find any way to reveal it in PSE (I've not tried to re-import the RAW files because there are a lot of files in a lot of folders.) This is rather critical and needs to be fixed.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have been using Photoshop for years and I have never had this problem before. Just recently after finishing up a private commission I proceeded to "Save to Web" with convert to sRGB selected. This was always the way I did it before. However the result was different, for if I viewed the file (PNG, JPEG or gif didn't matter) it looked super saturated on my computer when I viewed it with windows photo viewer or I uploaded it to Facebook.
However, it looks fine if I look at it with quicktime, dropping it in a browser, or other viewers. I even opened the saved file (the oversaturated one) inside Photoshop and it looked just like my PSD file. When I uploaded it on Facebook, I went to a different computer and it looked the way it was suppose to.
My concern is two fold, first I like using windows photoviewer because I can cycle through draft files quickly to make decisions and second if some of my viewers are seeing it incorrectly then that may be true of other people. I am currently using photoshop CS5 and I and my OS is Win7.
My color settings are
RGB: sRGB IEC61966-2.1
CMYK: US Web Coated (SWOP) v2
Gray: Dot Gain 20%
Spot: Dot Gain 20%
Color Management Policies: All are set tro Preserve Embedded Profiles.
I have the CS standard suite CS 6.
When I save a file the "date modified" only on photoshop comes up as 8 hours behind.
I also use other programmes like 3D studio max and vray and the usual office suites, with no issue.
I have used a PC for many years and saved files in JPEG with Photoshop CS4 and then CS5 no problem. Recently I bought a mac and upgraded to Photoshop CS6 and then upgraded again to Photoshop CS6 Extended.
Now when I save files as 'JPEG' in Photoshop CS6 Extended they save okay but when I try to open these files in other programs they can't read the file. If I try to attach these JPEG's in an email they send a script and no image.
The only way to send JPEG's by email on my mac seems to be if I right click on the JPEG image and send it that way by email - I can't add it to emails though. Am I saving in the wrong format for a mac ?
In Photoshop CS6 when I save a TIFF file it saves with the .sgi extension. When I save a png it saves it with the .raw extension. I haven't had this problem with previous versions of PS. I'm on a Mac with OSX 10.6.8. I also noticed that I have a plugin in the Plugins folder that's called SGIRGB.plugin. What's going on with saving in these file types or what this plugin is?
