View 2 RepliesI have finished scanning a number of old family photos and have used Adobe Photoshop Elements 9 (PSE9) to “tag” and add “captions” to each photo. The photos vary in size and are saved in tif format. All of the work I have done so far was using the Organizer in PSE9.
When using the slideshow function of PSE9, I can view the photos and see the caption written over the bottom of the photos. Using other software to view the photos does not show the captions.
I have gone to the Edit screen of PSE9 and under File there is Process Multiple Files. Clicking that I have selected the options in the Labels section to add a caption, checked description, default font, 75 Opacity, default color. Having processed the multiple files, I thought when opening the processed photos I would see the caption I entered in the Organizer along the bottom of the photos. However, the caption does not appear when I view the photos. Am I misunderstanding something here? Would the captions only appear if I print the photo?
Its a jpg, I need to add it to about 400 photo's quick.I know how to add a watermark using process multiple files, but he wants his logo on the photo's.
View 5 Replies View RelatedAfter getting straightened out about getting my catalogs in order, which I've done, I've run into another problem. I have three catalogs one for People, one for Things and one I call Workplace where I try out things that are new to me so I don't mess up my main catalogs.
I've straightened out the files in my Things catalog. I have one catagory that contains images of autograph book pages from the late 1800s. Those scans were done in JPEG some time ago. I've tried using multiple processing to change these 55 images to psd in the original file to be consistent with the rest of the catalog. Each time the process fails.
In order to see what the problem might be I have copied the catagory file into both of my other catalogs and have been able to process the catagory file back into itself as psd. I have also created another small file in the Things catalog and tried to convert it and had the same result. The warning info box that appears when copying back into the same file states that the original files will be overwritten. The psd files do not overwrite the jpg files. They are added to the original file. That may be the way it is intended to be. That's not a real problem.
The real question is why can't I process multiple files in the original catalog. I have looked at the error file and, although I don't know much about most of it, I found the following in the first part of the file.
crash exception="EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION"
I run XP SP3 and PSE 8. I am a single user with administrator rights. I find no mention of a permission filter in the PSE 8 program.
How do I activate "process multiple files" ? in the PS Ele 11 editor?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am trying to figure out how to batch process multiple files with Elements 11. I have installed Imagenomic Plug Ins with Elements 11. I have also installed the supplied ATN action files created by Imagenomic for Photoshop. These actions work fine with Elements 11. I need to figure out how to utilize, or select, the Noiseware Plug In option within Elements Batch Process configuration window. It appears I can only apply the default mods provided by Elements and can't see any of the Imagenomic Plug Ins as Batch Process options.

View 2 Replies View RelatedIs it possible to take 3-4 effects, all mixed together, like brush stroke, solarise, warp sharp, neon... mix them all together, and process a number of pictures while changing the mix level of each effect, and also varying some of the effect settings, such as brush size, brightness, etc...
are there any scripts that can do that? any macro plugins that can control other plugins? is there a crafty programming trick that could be fashioned to vary and mix effects across a task of batch processing?
I am trying to create a C# program to do batch Title Block attribute updates on selected AutoCAD drawings.
What I would like to do is keep the AutoCAD interface hidden, and just display my custom form which would allow the user to select the drawings that they wish to process.
And then the custom program would load each drawing behind the scenes and update the Title Block attributes, but the AutoCAD interface would remain hidden.
Is something like this possible with AutoCAD 2010? Are there any examples doing something like this (showing a custom form at startup, etc.)?
PS We do have newer versions of AutoCAD available if needed. Our engineers use AutoCAD 2010, but we could use a newer version for this standalone tool which would only be used by 1 or 2 people.
I'm using Elements 11. In order to add watermarks to many JPG pics at once, I use the function "Process Multiple Files".
I select a source folder and a destination folder, and adds a three digit serial number to each file. I do NOT tick the checkbox marked "Change picture size". After that I define the watermark I want printed on my pics and hits OK. All the files in the source folder are processed and saved, with a new name in the destination folder. Fair and square.
But. The file size of the new file is heavily reduced, compared to the original. It goes from 10 MB down to 500 KB (in general). Why is that? Is there any way I can prevent it?
Question: How do I “Add” multiple TIFF files to a Batch Process so I don't get the "what page" question? The PP9 Batch Process Added – OPENED - files, processed according to my script, then saved the result to new type & folder.
X5, a recent purchase, does an IMPORT of TIFFs instead of an OPEN and wants to know what page I want to load. Answering this on each file defeats the purpose of batch processing. How I should write the script?

View 9 Replies View RelatedHow the PMS color palettes "simulate" on screen how the color will print on different substrates (glossy vs matte vs uncoated paper). That's great for comps, but if you convert it to CMYK to print it, and the values are representing a "simulated" color it won't look correct (by that I mean come close to matching the spot color). For example, the uncoated palette simulates the color by making them appear a bit washed out on screen - pretty good visual simulation. But it might do so by adding black and cyan to orange for example, etc. - effectively dulling the original color.
So if I convert that to CMYK within the new Pantone + color palette, and then send it to the printer - it won't appear as it did on screen, it will dull the end color even more because it's converted the color to the dull simulated version - what a disaster! It's only doing half the job - showing us what it should look like on screen. In order to be truly efficient for design professionals the CMYK conversion might remove black and cyan completely to effectively brighten the color in the final output on uncoated paper. I would prefer it just stick to the standard conversion, which Pantone did have as a standard palette option (PMS to process), and then I can adjust if I think it's necessary.
Any corporate branding system will likely start with a PMS spot color palette for the identity. Then it will build into many different adaptations - full color brochures, large format banners and trade show graphics, website, advertising. So any corporate branding system will need to have PMS, CMYK and RGB versions of their main corporate color palette. There was a standard for these translations that was automatically consistent in the Adobe software and that is now all over the place, so it relies on individuals manually adapting the color mixes for final use - what a great way to screw things up.
I can get Photoshop CS2 to open up and work fine. Only, I cannot get it to open any files up. .jpgs, .pngs, and even .psds don't open. It says that there is a program error, and it doesn't say what that error is exactly.
I've tried "Open As" and tried to open the files as something different but that didn't work at all. I can open up images in ImageReady, yet I can't transfer them back to Photoshop to work on them. It also won't allow me to create a new canvas, (the same message pops up).
I recently moved, but I'm not sure if that would have caused any issue for Photoshop to act up like this. Everything else on the computer works fine and dandy. And it hasn't ever done anything like this before.
I'd rather not have to uninstall and then reinstall it,
I use Lightroom 4 to start my workflow on a MacBook laptop. I export my RAW image as a PSD file, then open the PSD in PSE 10. When I'm done working on the PSD file I want to save it as a JPG. But I can't find the JPG option in the Save As dialog box. This is my normal workflow using LR4 and PSCS6 on my desktop PC. So why can't I find the JPG option in the Save As dialog box in PSE10?
