Photoshop Elements :: Installing 10 Without A Disk?
Feb 15, 2013
I have a version of Photoshop Elements 10 that I wish to reinstall on my netbook after having to do a reformat. I have no external DVD drive, so I need to be able to download it to install it. Before, I just downloaded a trial of PSE 10 and then converted that to a full version. Now I'm unable to find any link to a trial version of 10 that doesn't just redirect me to 11 (including urls suggested in the PSE 10 users manual that came in the box). How the heck to I go about reinstalling my software?
I've buy a new computer with and SSD Disk for SO (Winwos 7 Ultimate) and a Secondary Disk. How is the best choise to install the CS4 Suite (Photoshop, Dreamweaver etc)? Installing on primary disk (SSD) or on secondary disk?
I would like to install an upgrade version of Photoshop CS (3,4,5, etc) on a Mac Pro. I have an older version of Photoshop on a Power PC type Mac. Can I install the newer version of Photoshop CS if I have the old install disk? Or will only a full installation disk work?
I put the elements 12 disk in my DVD drive and it spens about 4 minutes trying to get going. The lights on the drive flash occasionally, and you can hear it trying to go. I go to "my computer" to check the "drive" folder and it never appears for me to click on it and open it. It also doesn't automatically load which I have turned on. I have verified it is a DVD drive.
I have had Elements 12 running previously on my machine. I have just upgraded the hard drive and am in the process of reinstalling. My version is an upgrade to V11. This installed correctly and is running. Whenever I try to install V12 it gets right to the end and install an icon on the desktop and then just runs. I have left it for 3 hours and it still won't finish the installation.
I have recently installed Photoshop CS6. I already had Photoshop Elements 8 on my PC. Before installing CS6, I could quite happily scan photos etc via my scanner, from within Elements 8, but now when I go 'File > Get Photos and Videos > From Scanner' within Elements 8 (with Photoshop CS6 not open at the time, incidentally), I get a message saying 'Software for this device could not be launched. The device is not connected or is busy'. I would like to be able to scan from either Photoshop applications.
Just got a new computer running windows 8.1. Have installed actions many times before and they work great, but now when I install them it shows that its building content but the actions are not there.
Windows 7, had everything working fine. Added SSD and installed system from scratch on SSD. Old drive is now my second drive.
Trying to put the scratch disk on the second (old) drive to reduce wear on the SSD. But every time I do, I get the disk error message and it erases all my settings (so annoying!)
I figure it's a permissions thing since I've had to deal with that already to some degree, but I don't know how to fix it since I don't know where adobe is trying to save the scratch file.
I bought photoshop elements 11 and I backed it up on a disk when I got rid of my old computer. But the disk seems to be empty. I made a mistake somewhere. Can I download Photoshop elements 11 ? Now there seems to be only elements 12.
It's installed but when I look at DVD templates I only get several choices and it's trying to download the templates - I thought the content disk contained many more...how does one access that content?
trying to install photoshop elements 11 and it says my serial number in invalid. i've typed in every number i see on the back off the case the dvd came in.
I have moved to a new PC running Windows 7. Is PE 11 compatible with Windows 7? When I try to install PSE 11 I receive this message 'Error opening installation log file. Verify that specified log file exists and is writable'. I have tried all of the fixes in Microsoft and on the web with no positive results.
I have Elements 11 and Premier 9 installed on my PC but when I try to burn a slide show from Elements iI am asked to download Premier 11 and can find no way past this. What can i do to create a DVD from Elements 11 using Premier 9
I've been editing very large images with many layers recently, and I noticed disk performance issues - so I thought that by changing my preferences to set the scratch disk to the D drive, I might improve things (more available space, not competing with Windows disk usage, etc).
Now when I launch PE, it throws up an error: 'Could not open a scratch file because the file is locked. Use the properties command in the Windows Explorer to unlock the file' and refuses to open. However, it doesn't say what file it's trying to open, so I don't know how to fix it - and I can't get into PE to change the preference back to the C drive.
Unfortunately the preferences file isn't ASCII so I can't edit it manually. Added a half-hour later: By simply removing all the setup files I can get back into PE, but I'd still like to know what folder(s) and/or file(s) PE is trying to create on the D drive, so that I can see if there's any performance improvement.
The following message appears when attempting to install the trial version of PSE12 onto an iMac.."The following disk images could not be opened - Photoshop Elements_12_WWEFDJ.dmg error -4960"...The installer then hangs with the install extractor and does not respond.
I'm using PSE/PE 11 with latest updates, Win7 64bit (again, latest updates). I7 cpu w/8GB ram. When I attempt a backup of the catalog (EVEN after optimizing & reconnecting) to an internal HDD (SSD) with 188GB free - NO LUCK. Attempt another backup to a different internal HDD with 345GB free - NO LUCK - the app says I must free up some disk space/not enough space. My catalog size from System Info shows 21.6MB but within the Backup app of Organizer, it says it is trying to backup 612,678.10MB.
All my MACINTOSH versions of Photoshop - S5, Elements 10, Elements 11 - display the opening start screen, but ABORT THE LAUNCH of the EDITOR with the error message:
"Could not open scratch file because of disk error."
"Could not initialize Photoshop Elements because the preferences file was invalid (it has been deleted)"
I have cleaned up my external disks so that they all have at least 100GB of free space
How can I correct this so that I can recover the Preferences, re-establish the Scratch Disk, and launch the Photoshop Editor?
I keep getting an error pop-up that the ElementsOrganizerSync - No Disk. I doesnt go away, when I tell it to close it pops right back open. It started when I deleted some Actions I'd added to my library. Also, Actions that I've added recently are not showing up even though I've added them correctly. I plan to upgarde to version 11 but it has to wait a few more weeks.
I have Photoshop Elements 10. It worked until I upgraded to Mountain Lion. Now when I try to open it, I get two error messages: 1: "Could not open a scratch file because the disk is not available." 2: "Could not initialize Photoshop Elements because the disk is not available."
