View 2 RepliesUsing the horizontal text tool I can make a text box, but no text-blinker shows up in the box and when I type no text will appear. Although, in the Layers pannel on the right side it does name the layer whatever I have typed so why won't it show on the picture? Even if you make all other layers invisible the text layer still does not show up on a blank background.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI been using elements 10 to at tekst to pictures in jpeg format, but sometimes it is not possible to do this.
View 5 Replies View RelatedAttempting to add text to pic. Tonight, however, the size of font that comes in is super-small -- so small that I need to bump it up to 72 (but even at that it is too small on the pic. Also: I notice that the text font now shows in pixels rather than inches.
All I want is to be able to add a simple phrase or two, but Text Tool is showing my words as super-small even at the 72 pix.
Would perhaps my resetting preferences yesterday have anything to do w/this? Should I be adding text to pics in INCHES rather than PIXELS?
Also -- my pic is at resolution of 600 and doc size is 20 x 20.
I am using elements 12 and trying to add text to a picture. For some reason when I type in the letters it is just showing up as lines??

I have drawn a crystal in Photoshop...with seperate layers, there is 2 of them,What I want to do is use a photograph of a proper crystal, and use this to fill the actual drawing.
I have seen this done before I just cant remember how. It adds the actual JPG picture behind the drawing and I can drag the image around in the background of the layer to where I want it .

I successfully exported the catalog from my old Vista Computer running elements 6. I imported the catalog to a Sony Vaio running Windows 8.1 . All pics and albums are in the organizer. However I cannot add additional pictures from a file folder in the organizer to an album that is also in the organizer that was previously created in elements 6

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am using old Photoshop 7 because honestly, it has always filled every minor need of mine. Normally, I'm not doing much more than creating simple display placards, but this new project has me stumped. I am creating a simple layout for a device that will be silkscreened. The screen will be exposed using what I am creating in PS7, printed on a transparency.
The problem I am running into is with the text dithering. I found a tutorial that explained selecting the layer, then using Layer>Type>Create Work Path to generate a path around all of the text on the layer. I am now attempting to fill this path with solid black. When I select the path in the palette, the dot to fill the path is grayed out. I found an app note that stated when text is active, this is not an option. I tried disabling the text layer, but it didn't work.
I use Adobe Photoshop Elements 11. Until recently, I've had no problem with fill layers. I'd make a selection from the photo, then I'd make a layer of the selection, then I'd go to edit, fill layer, fill with background/foreground color. Then the selection only would be filled. Now, all of a sudden, I make the selection, make a layer of the selection, go to edit/fill layer/fill with background/foreground color, and the whole photo becomes filled with the fill color, and not just the selection. I'm always on the selection layer, not the background or any other layer. I've reset all the tool defaults, and I've even deleted the defaults file, but to no avail.
View 14 Replies View RelatedI have to replace text in a banner image with different text. Maybe if I upload the banner, it would be more useful...
I have to replace "Customer Satisfaction" with some other text. The text is embedded in the image; so, it's not that easy, at least for me, to replace it without making it look amateurish. Of course, I duplicated the background and worked on that layer.
First method I tried was using the clone stamp, zooming in to 1600% to painstakingly erase it. But then when I zoom out, the background where the text was placed over does not match its surroundings and looks like someone shaded it. If you zoom in real close, before making any changes to it, you'll see that the "green" (what the RGB is) touching the text is different than the "green" in areas not touching text.
Next, I thought of using the magic wand to select the text for me and that looked liked it worked. But the problem is once I select it, how to delete it or blend it in with the background. That is, if I select the "C" in "Customer Satisfaction" with the magic wand, for instance, pressing delete does nothing. Then I found I can fill the area, after I select it with the magic wand; however, what the RGB combination is of the background. Is there a way I can find out what the RGB value is of the background, then apply that to my fill color and effectively delete the "Customer Satisfaction" text?
Once I'm able to get rid of the text, I can use the text editor plugin tool I downloaded to replace the text.
That's my logic, anyway. How I can replace text in an image, preferably as neatly as possible.
For some reason, all of a sudden when I go to make a shape and choose a color, it does not fill. I noticed that the Style box to the right of the color box on the top bar had a white box with a red line through it. I then chose Simple Outer from the drop down box and it still will not fill. I am using Elements 10.
