Photoshop Elements :: File Is Not Compatible With Current Version
Mar 12, 2014
Cannot open a Photoshop Elements 7.0 file that was created yesterday. It says the file is not compatible with the current version. How can I get it to open?
I am trying to load an action and am getting the error Could not complete your request because the file is not compatible with this version of Photoshop. I am getting this with both my Windows 7 version as well as MAC OS 10.7.3. Both versions of Photoshop is at the latest version, 12.0.4 (12.0.4x20110407 [20110407.r.1265 2011/04/07:02:00:00.
That version is from my MAC. Others that have tried this version of action is working fine. Now, I do not know what version of operating system and version of Photoshop that they are using. The action is a .atn file so that is not an issue. The creater states the action works regardless of what version of Photoshop a user is running.
I just bought a new laptop with Windows 8..I need a cheaper older version of Photoshop Elements compatible with this....I have been using Elements 7, but no longer have this. Also what version of Lightroom is compatible with windows 8?

I literally get about 2min into my design and before I can even crop the photo Microsoft's DEP (data Execution prevention) closes down Photoshop. Any DEP compatible version of photoshop?
I have an older version of Adobe Photoshop (3.0, 1996) that I have tried to load under Windows 7 and under a "Parallells" WIndows 7 on a MAC OSX 10. Both give me an incompatibility message regarding a 32 bit application and a 64 bit application.
how I can use the older Photoshop under Windows 7.
I downloaded Pyrochilds "Smudge" plugin and the plugin error says that it's not compatible with this version of Paint.Net. I have the latest I believe v3.5.8 I also unblocked it and still nothing.
I have taken some photos today but in the file information the date is shown as '2012' but it should be '2014'. Is there a way to ensure the correct current date is entered automatically?
I just got the new Canon 70D and I went to photoshop to edit my picture (I just got the cloud version today) and it won't open my files... I went to the help files and does not even support my camera.
I accidentally downloaded photos to PSE 11 and spent hours editing them before I realized I was in PSE 11 instead of PSE 12. I had already converted the PSE 11 catalog to PSE 12. I'm hoping there is a method to move the edited file from PSE 11 to PSE 12. Do I have any hope???
When I edit a picture and save the result (using either "save" or "save as" and making sure there are ticks in "Save in Elements Organiser" and "Save in version set with original"), the edited copy is often (perhaps 3 times out of 4) treated not as a new version but as a new file. When I close the edit, I am told that there is a new file in a watched folder. When I accept this, I am offered any tags which were applied to the original (which works a bit) but then have to find my way to the edited file and the original, and manually make them into a set. It adds a couple of minutes to each edit. I am using Photoshop 11 on a Windows 8 laptop with a 1000GB hard disc (with about 100GB free). My catalog is quite big- about 70,000 items. I am a long-time Elements user (since the original?). This problem is fairly new (ie months not years)- certainly since I moved to V11. This is independent of the format of the original (in my case, RAW or jpeg) or the edited file (in my case usually jpeg).
How do I find the current version of VSProX6 that I am running?
I have tried numerous times to download the Newblue TitlerEX from the "Do More Tools" tab. I get an "Your download is ready. Install Now" notice, but nothing happens and nothing appears in my download folder.
I have a problem concerning the frame generator skeleton. When I try to save my assembly with its frame.iam and skeleton.ipt, I can't save it. The save window says that the skeleton is not the current version.
In the folder where the skeleton file is saved, two skeleton ipt files are appearing, one "skeleton.ipt and one "skeleton.newver.ipt"
I'm working with Autodesk Inventor Professional 2012, in combination with Autodesk Vault 2012.
My external hard drive recently crashed and now I am trying to restore my Lightroom catalogs. When I try to open the most recent back-up, I keep getting a message stating the catalog is too new for the current version of Lightroom. I have not done anything to my most recent version of LR.
How can I search and/or filter to find photos which have not been updated to the current Process Version? I would like to get a list of the photos rather than going through them one by one and looking for the lightening bolt.
After the installation of Photoshop Elements 11 and Premiere Elements 11 on my new system, the catalogs of version 10 do not appear for the conversion to version 11; my 2 catalogs are installed on a LACIE-2BIG NAS system.
Elements Organizer 11.0.0.0 Version principale : 11.0 (20120830.r.32025)
I am getting the message "this file is not compatible with this version of Photoshop." Which doesn't make sense because I used this version of Photoshop to create this file.
I am on CS3 Windows XP Pro The file is a layered Tiff and is 190.3M AVG is my security, not Norton Anti Virus
When I look at the preferences it states that it was created in CS3. How can I open this file? and what caused this to happen?
I purchased PSE 11 which is what I needed for it to work with my Nikon D7100, also less than a year old. I have just purchased a Nikon D610 and it seems I need to downlaod Camera Raw 8.3 but it doesn't seem to work with PSE 11. When I check the adobe site it appears that I need PSE 12! How can this be when my software is less than one year old!! Is it adobe money grabbing again? Are there any plans to add support for RAW photos taken on the Nikon D610, which after all is only a very minor change to the Nikon D600, to PSE 11?
i am thinking of buying a new camera but am concerned with some cameras not being compatable with the photoshop elements 11. Im looking at a Nikon D70.
Various tests both by me and Apple Mac technical department indicate that PSE12 is not compatible with the ipad. Is there a setting that should be activated, If so, which and what are the steps to deal with this problem? I have not had this problem with photos edited in earlier versions of PSE
Photos edited in PSE12 and sent as jpegs to the ipad cannot be opened. Photos not edited in PSE12 can be opened. This needs fixing.
The file is .psb (large document format). I am on a mac, OSX10.7.3, PS CS5.1. I have been working on this file for some time, and this message suddenly appeared, which of course has stopped all work, and the job is almost ready to be printed!
I have a single user who's PS (CS6) that seems to always (or atleast, a great majority of the time) corrupt large .psd documents. It doesn't seem to matter if she is working with previously created files, or starting from scratch. If she saves a file that is larger than about 900MB, it corrupts and nobody can open it anymore. I've tried removing the entire CS6 design suite, and reinstalling it, but the issue persisted. I have about 10 users on identical systems that have never had issues, and she never had issues until about two weeks ago. As far as I know, nothing major changed on the system when this started happening. how I can stop the file corruption?
