It's been running in the background on my computer for several days now. I'm willing to let it finish, if it does indeed finish... but if its normal way of operating is to use 100% CPU when idle for ever... then I'll shut it off.
BTW, I am not asking how to turn it off, I know how to do that. I'd just like to know that it will reach the end of my library at some point and then only run on new additions.
How do I close elements auto analyzer? I am trying to download a new camera raw version - elements 11 - and it has 2 seconds left but will go no further as the elements auto analyzer will not close. I went to organizer - edit - preferences - media analyzer - unchecked run at start up but nothing has changed.! I have been struggling with importing raw files from my Panasonic FZ200 for weeks and was 2 seconds to fixing it!

View 2 Replies View RelatedFor those who disabled the PSE 12 Auto Analyzer by putting a space into its name, be sure to go back and take the space out before running the 12.1. update. The update resets the auto analyzer to its original state, so you will need to go back and redo everything if you want to prevent it from running all the time after the update.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm running Photoshop Elements 12 with Windows 7 on Intel i7-3960x. OS and program are on SSD. Files on HHD. Experiencing frequent Organizer crashes especially while updating faces or scrolling, but it will also crash when it not active (just sitting in background). I turned off auto analysis and so far no crash. I have tried remove and reinstall, repair cat, optimize, etc. No luck. I have about 50,000 files in catalouge.
Well, after two days, Organizer 12 still crashing whether or not analyzer is active. Tried reloading program to same drive photos are on. Still crashing. Removed Premiere 12, still craches. Also, running face analysis on a single picture faile to find any faces - even on pictures with clear, easily identifyable faces. I am getting tired of seeing "Elements 12 Organizer has stopped working". I did not have these problems with earlier editions.
A day later. So I had a chat session with Adobe and the recommendation was to create a new catalog and start over. The suspected cause of the problem was corrupted imported tags. I did not follow the recommentation. I went back to my catalog and looked through the imported tags (using the large icons selection). I found one tag connected to Facebook and a couple of tags with busted icons. I deleted them. I created new tags to replace the imported tags and deleted all the imported tags. The program has been solid for two days and a lot of usage.
I have photoshop elements 11. People analyzer will not recognize people or allow me to tag people in my photos. It works with my older camera photos such as from my Nikon D300 but will not work with photos from my D800 (RAW).

View 2 Replies View RelatedI was using these tool on a lot of images, because they often seemed to vastly improve them, making the colors pop on otherwise somewhat dull ones, and getting rid of unwanted color casts..
Later though I noticed that it is often at the cost of burning out hightlights in some areas beyond salvation.I also find shadow /highlight sometimes does this also.
Then I tried to protect some small areas with a mask before proceeding, but it seems that I can't find information on just painting a mask, but only videos with much more complex adjustment such as the Russel Crow or Lynda ones with maintaing hair detail while superimposing images, which is way beyond what I need in these cases.
If I try the wand to select and inverse I get unnatural looking divisions. Is it a matter of feathering to the right extent?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm using PE10, and usually start with the "Quick Edit" tab to do a "Smart Fix" where I can select a desirable fix. Sometimes I additionally do Shadow adjustments and/or Highlight adjustments, but not much else. Then go to "Full" edits.
- "Enhance - Auto Contrast" does tonal corrections as I understand. However I usually see no difference after doing this. Is that because when I did the Smart Fix, it is essentially doing the Auto Contrast as one of its adjustments? If so, is it just a waste of time for me to do the Auto Contrast if I have previously done a Smart Fix?
- As the last step, I usually use "Enhance - Unsharp Mask" on my photos with Amount = 70, Radius = 2.0, and Threshold = 0. Are those reasonable numbers? I understand that beginners tend to over-sharpen their photos. I've played around with various values, and these numbers seem to have worked for me, but would just like other opinions since I don't have that professional eye as to what is a great photo. I make sure that I zoom in to print size or more when looking at the results of sharpening.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have just moved from 7.0 to CS3 (and PC to Mac) and am currently trying to get to grips with the new features! Once which I love is the auto-align and auto-blend feature(s). My question is, is there any way to control how these features work? I have seen on some web sites people talk about 'fuzziness' sliders where you can control that if an object (pixels) appear in X% of the photos they should/shouldn't be included in the final image but I cannot find these.
My intention is to use these features to take photos of monuments and have the people who are moving about removed from the final image (I guess it's the auto-align that would do this.) I tried a test and took a number of photos at home but I kept moving one object around (a pen.) The pen appears in all the images but in a different location so it always appears in the final image. When I tried auto-align with a stack that included one image without the pen, the pen was removed from the final image. Given the first scenario (i.e. the object is in all the images but in a different location) is there any way of automatically removing it using auto-align or would this have to be a manual process? In the real world, it would be possible to take a photo of a monument with people in different locations but it would be much harder (or take a long time) to take one where at least one person was not in all the photos (there's always someone loitering.)
Yes, I'm probably the only person on the planet that wants this, but I liked how the Auto Tone auto adjusted the Exposure slider (ONLY!) and left all the other sliders at zero in the Lightroom 4 beta.
Is there a way to write a preset that returns that behavior?
