I need to change the background of 15 photos to 40% gray and cover the existing background.I am new to PS elements 7 and not skilled manipulating layers.I was told I can place a layer between the foreground and background and edit fill the middle layer to 40% gray.I tried that but it didn't work.

is it possible to change the background color [outside the artboard] to a dark grey? because i really dont like having a big white screen while working in illustrator.when you normally work in illustrator, the artboard is indicated by a black border line but when you select the artboard editor tool, the background changes to dark grey, so it is possible and that is the effect im looking for, but then permanently.is it possible to do this via the preferences somewhere, or via a hack?

A top layer with the concrete hatch pattern and a background layer with a solid hatch patern. The ctb file concrete plots the concete hatch black and the solid background hatch light gray. I am using civil 3d 2013 and the hatch allows a seperate background color mask. I am trying to make all my concrete layers (Top of Curb, Curb Flowline, etc.) a certain color scheme, i.e. shades of green. I would like my on screen concrete hatch patern to be a green color with a gray background, but plot the concrete hatch black with a gray background. I can not figure out how to do this without making two layers. Is there a way to use one layer and utilize the background color mask to show on screen green and gray, but plot black and gray?

Not just change the color but change the color AND make it keep it's original shading, etc. I have some family photos we had made recently and they used a beige color draping for the background. The ones we had made before had a black draping. I'm trying to add a .png logo with a transparent background to a photo, but it always shows up as a gray background. What am I doing wrong.
I have photoshop elements 7.0 and I am having difficulty making making a photo with a transparent background. According to the tutorials I watched, I am supposed to bring the desired photo which I do and can be seen on the right in the layers box dialogue. Then there I create a copy which is "unlocked" which shows up on my screen. Then, I select the brush tool and I select the areas of the photo which I wish to make transparent and then hit the letter "D" on my keyboard, or the delete button. Although the background is seen gone in the photo in my layers box, the background is still shown in my photo on my screen. The perforated lines are seen and although I keep pressing the D button it does not work.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI use a light box to take pictures of my wood art items. The walls of the light box are made from foam core boards and light wooden frame for increased stability. Even though I can place a poster board for background color inside the light box and curve it up the back to create a seamless surrounding, parts of the corners may get in the picture.
I have recently purchased Photoshop Elements 11 and am in the learning curve. Can I touch up the areas of the light box corners that show up in the photo? This is probably done in Editor. I have used another "old" editor Microsoft Picture It! Publishing Platinum 2001 for years where I would use paint to touch up the background or cover up something in the background. But it was difficult to get the background colors to match even if the color was white.
