Oct 11, 2013My friend created a flyer for me in photoshop and sent it to me as a JPEG. I converted to a PSD in my Photoshop Elements 10, but I cannot edit anything in it?

3ds Max :: NURBS Surface Converted To Editable Poly
Jul 10, 2012I found to model a joystick. I have created a spline mesh, and applied a Surface modifier. The next step is to convert it to an Editable Poly. Fine, no sweat there. The thing is, when i do that, Max creates a ton more vertices; so many that its blatant over kill. My Surface mesh contains only 214 verts, but after conversion, i have over 6000.
Im guessing its adding some kind of smoothing somewhere...? After conversion, the tutorial has no more verts than it did before conversion, and it looks pretty much the same.
Conversion does not add extra vertices?

May 25, 2012I have taken this sketch (jpeg) converted to .eps and performed a live trace in illustrator. I then go to live paint to select areas to fill with different colors, but the whole image is selected. It could have to do with me not being able to separate into layers before the trace, but i'm not too sure where i am going wrong here. I've watched several tutorials on turning sketches into vector files, but obviously im missing a step.

Feb 13, 2013A simple editable mesh object, a piece of terrain, which has standard texture on it an no modifiers, just some UV's on channel 1.
Whenever I add "edit poly" modifier or convert it to editable poly, additional geometry will be created. Statistics show that only vertex count of the selected object goes up about 6x but no additional faces are generated. This not the case when check on a sub-object level, there are lot of additional faces created. I've never seen this happen, jumping between edit poly and edit mesh has been easy without any errors like this.
I've tried the same model with 2013 as well - same results. Also tried collapsing the object, removing uv-mapping, different materials, attaching the mesh to empty box, etc, garbage collection, exporting it to obj and importing - even then same thing happens.

Dec 30, 2012I use Canon 60D and normally shoot in mRAW. I am considering a move to DNG conversion so I did some test conversions and was amazed to find that, far from reducing the size of my mRAW files, it increased them by about 60%. I repeated the exercise with RAW files and found that this did reduce the size of the files by over 10%. In fact, i ended up with the crazy situation where the DNG files converted from mRAW were much bigger than those converted from RAW.
Below are some sample sizes based on Medium previews, Embed fast load data - YES, Embed original RAW file - NO, Compatibility Camera Raw 7.1 and later
Before : mRAW 17Mb mRAW 12Mb
After: DNG 28.5Mb DNG 21Mb
Before: RAW 23Mb RAW 22Mb
After: DNG 20Mb DNG 19Mb
If I went for Full Preview, the DNG sizes rose by about 2 Mb
why the mRAW conversion is so inefficient?
I am still not entirely sure whether to adopt DNG but, if i do, it looks like I certainly won't be using mRAW as the source.
