Photoshop :: Drawing Parallel Edges...
Feb 17, 2009I am trying to draw two shapes but need to keep the inside edges perfectly matched, after which I want to fill them with red (I can do that part).

View 5 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to draw a line that is parallel to the one I've already drawn. It works fine (Osnap on) when I draw a whole new line and then draw a parallel line. But when I try to add a parallel extension to an old line, it doesn't work. The old line is located in another layer, but I tried to copy it to the same layer and it still doesn't work.

View 3 Replies View Relatedif I have two lines which run roughly paralel, but sometimes vary in the distance between them, is there a quick method of having CAD draw a line which is central to the two?
Basically, like an offset, but it would need to offset the line at a distance that is central to the two lines, as and where it varies. IE, you couldnt choose 'offset' and then choose 'mid between two points' because the distance between the lines varies at points..
I set a viewport to a perspective mode. I do this by starting 3DOrbit then right clicking and choosing perspective. Save, close, open and all perspecitve views are set to parallel projection.
View 9 Replies View RelatedJust did a beginning drawing and placed it too close to an edge. Tried figuring out how to move it away from the edges. When I select it with one of the select tools, and then use the move tool, it moves the whole canvas (right word?). I did not want to move the canvas, just the object on the canvas, or layer, or background, whatever it is called.
Perhaps there is no way to move this. If that is the case, then how to I make the background bigger, and keep the object where it is so I can draw around the object?
Is it the limitation of my hardware that gets me these jagged edges or is there a way to at least make drawings with smooth lines?
View 9 Replies View RelatedLooking at a side profile of a channel in a drawing, you will usually see a top and bottom edge, as well as some nominal flange thickness.
In Inventor, all you see is the top and bottom edge...because the channel's shape is really radiused on the flange.
So I turn on "Tangent Edges" in the Display Options of my view...now I see three lines representing the flange. I can manually hide the other lines, but this option creates a TON of lines in my views that I would have to manually hide.
What is the quickest and cleanest way to represent a channel without seeing a ton of extra tangent lines?
Is there any way to have Tangent Edges to show within all view's created on my idw automatically within the my template file or do I have to remember to double click on each of my created views per page, select display options and make sure Tangent Edges are checked on.

So basically, I created coloured text inside Adobe Illustrator and however much I zoom into the text, the text always appears to have smooth edges. Once I click on 'Save For Web', the edge all around the text becomes rough and aliased. I chose GIF and PNG, but it still happens. The text is on a transparency background. The same problem applies to images when I am creating a logo.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI thought this was going to be a piece of cake in the new Illustrator CC but I am having a few unanticipated issues:)I need to create some vector tire images with different edges, such as the top one in the image below. So I thought this would be SO easy by simply creating a pattern brush in Illustrator and then using that for the outside. So I created the shape you see in the middle image below and created a pattern brush with this shape.I then created an ellipse and used the new brush for the outline.
All of those are open paths...it has taken the shape and applied it to the outline but has kept each shape separate, so I am not able to fill the circle in black. I could of course go in and manually join each little corner separately where the little shapes meet but this will take FOREVER with all the images I have to do.
I'm trying to snap a head with it's neck with the merge edge tool, but somewhere along the way, the edges lost there border edge characteristics and now I can't merge the edges. Is there a way to make the edges back to the way they were?

View 5 Replies View RelatedIve gained access to a very powerful 32 core machine. Im using maya but im sure the same applies to 3dsmax, The initiation of each frame is actually single threaded, whereas the rendering itself is multithreaded.
Because of this the cores are not used until the actual rendering starts.Ive noticed that The initiation is taking about 2 mins, whereas as the render is almost instantly complete because it utilizes all 32 cores.
Is their a way to tell backburner to start initiating more then one frame at once on a single computer? Or can the initiation and the actually render be split up into separate jobs?
Any other distributed software packages that might accomplish this?even though the 2 mins isnt that much. The time savings would be significant over thousands of frames.
Some time ago i used express tools to save my sysvar settings and now when i read the old settings back in, i'm put in 3D parallel project mode. I know this because i have the background color for this mode set to something other than the background color for 2D model space. But now i can't get out of 3d parallel projection mode.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI need to dimension between the face of a wall and non parallel wall opposite it. The non parallel wall turns a 90 degree corner, and it is at this corner that I want to measure perpendicular to my first wall.
1. Is there a way to dimension between non-parallel walls? When you place the dimension you click on the wall at the location you want to dimension, so I don't see why Revit can't place the dimension at that point. That dimension would be particular to that one point along the non-parallel wall.
2. I got around this by placing a reference plane and dimensioning to that, but I'd rather not do this because then if I hide the reference plane, my dimension disappears.
Is there another work around or am I missing a tool I don't know about?
I have two alignments that are not parallel that make up one corridor. Each alignment has a separate profile running along it. At stations where I have a template drop in my section editor, it is not representing what is really happening because it just is perpendicular to one alignment. Is there a way to develop a secondary alignment that will have my section editor show what will be parallel to both alignments.

I am drawing pipe and beams.
I use a variety of methods. Right now I just SNAP to the elipse, draw the lines at the angles and then hit the other elipse. Sometimes though the lines jump all around the elipse.
We have been experimenting with Parallel threading. The situation is that I have an assembly that contains multiple parts (approx. 40) which all have contained "almost" the same code. In order to rationalize this; we have rearranged the code in such way that we now only reference External iLogic rules form these 40 part files (only one place to revise the code if necessary).
The side effect to this rationalization has been the we have problems in executing the codes in parallel, see this simplified example:
Imports System.Threading.TasksParallel.For(1,40, Sub(h As Integer) iLogicVb.RunRule ("Part "& h &"", "iTriggerRule") End Sub)
Now all of these 40 part files try to execute their code.
'Configutation of Part filesiTrigger=iTrigger0iLogicVb.RunExternalRule("Cut configuration")iLogicVb.RunExternalRule("Bracing of the part")iLogicVb.RunExternalRule("Parameter context")
As they all are dependent upon running the same external rules the result is that not all part files are updated according to the required design requirements. It seem as if one of the part files calls the external rule and the rule is "busy" handling another part file it just terminates without warnings or errors.
Can multiple part files run the same external rule at the same time? Is there some form of queue? I do not get any warnings or errors, the partfiles just do not update. How can I make sure that all the part files run the external rules and is there a way of checking this?
This is probably a simple one that I am missing, but how do I get a parallel constraint applied to these two edges.
View 4 Replies View RelatedAs you see in the picture I have a subdivision that follows a curving road, and therefore all the lot lines also follow the road. This is unfortunate, as I have been creating label styles 1 by 1 for left, center, right, for every angle of line. Is there a way to get your label to go parallel with the line automatically?
What I am thinking of is with structures, there is that circular grip that rotates the structure, is there something similar to this with labels? or must i keep grinding away making the labels one by one in their separate degree intervals.
Right now I have 33 label styles.... and I am not even 1/4 of the way done.
What I have is a shape files that contains the road centreline of a city I am working on. And that shape files also have a data of its road name etc.
I know how to do it as FDO (using map connect). But what I require is an autocad text entity.
I can save the map as a drawing. But what I only want is just a number of road names and they are not adjacent or near to each other so map filtering is not recommended.
So what I did, I add the shape files using map import command and added the road name data. And then, I used the command Annotation and do the "define annotation" and "insert annotation". From here, I am doing fine. I created a text/block annotation that will extract the road name on the imported centreline on the line I just selected.
Now, my problem is, all the text are in just one direction (in my case they are all horizontal). I tried playing the "rotation expression" but still without luck.
how or what "rotation expression" should I use to make the text parallel/along the centreline.
