View 2 RepliesIs there a way to get rid of the unreferenced image files from a drawing from the command line. I have thousands of dwgs to batch edit using a script and Script Pro and need to automate the "right click and detach" on the command line.
View 3 Replies View RelatedDeleting files and saving files brings up an error message. Files can't be deleted from lightroom which makes editing a nightmare. Also Saving Files (raw of jpeg), brings up an error message everytime.
View 1 Replies View RelatedAll of my files were backed up and easily transfered to my new computer. Today I was doing some cleanup and wanted to move or delete some older psd files. These were created in CS2 (I have CS3 now) and haven't been opened since getting my new computer. Windows will not allow me to delete, move or rename several of these files. It tells me that they are "open in another application" even when photoshop isn't even open. I have tried opening a couple of them in CS3 and then closing them to see if this changes their status but the result is the same. How can I change their "open" status, delete, move or rename them at this point.
View 3 Replies View RelatedAfter this error when I click cancel to delete the files and start again shows the same error deleting the remaining files.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI'm hitting delete key, one above the arrows, and sometimes the files go to trash, as did in CS2, and sometimes they become hidden files.
View 2 Replies View RelatedPhotoshop/Bridge prevents deleting files. After I'm done with a job I store it on the server then try to delete the folder or files I've finished from my desktop. No can do.
Â
I found I have to shut down Photoshop and Bridge then I can move the stuff into trash.
I use Photoshop CS2 all the time. Now from somewhere also have Adobe Image Ready CS2 which I do not want or need. My publisher images try to open in Imageready but can't. How can I delete Imageready without deleting Photoshop as well.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI scan images to go into my website on a regular basis. I scan them bring them into photoshop, use the marquise tool to move individual images to be corrected and made ready to put in website, then I save them and delete that layer from photoshop. I then go to the next image and when I use the marquise tool the previous image keeps coming on the screen.Â
I am unable to delete permanently that first image so I can move on to the next image. Then I ran into the problem of not being able to more an image from the clipboard. It isn't highlighted so I can click it. Don't know what to do and I have to resolve this ASAP to keep up with my work.Â
I have VideoStudio 11 running under an XP Virtual PC.
I'm sure that there is a command to delete temporary files but I can't for the life of me remember how to access it.
Alternatively, would it be easier to go straight to the VideoStudio working folder. I've just had a look there and was staggered to find no less than 24GB of various files in the CvtedTitle folder.
I have just moved my years worth of images off my laptop by exporting the catalogue throught Lightroom and everything that goes with it to a exteranl drive. Now I would like to delete the catalogue and all files associated with it. Do I need to do that through Lightroom or can I just delete the year 2012 in the pictures folder.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI use Aperture 3 and am thinking of switching to Lightroom 4. I do not store my photos in the Aperture 3 library. Instead I store my photos in my own folder system on an external hard drive and I reference the files in Aperture. This works well for most functions, but when I delete a photo from Aperture, it simply removes the thumbnail and all versions from Aperture, but does not delete the actual photo file on my hard drive. If I want to delete the actual photo file I must click "show file in finder" and manually delete it from the finder window.

Is the process of organizing photos in your own folder system, and deleting unwanted photos, more seemlessly integrated in Lightroom 4?
1. Updating previews (100%) is very slow.
Â
Bridge CS6 has problems updating the previews of images that get edited. While creating preview from scratch is rather swift, updating previews takes about six minutes on a MacBook Pro retina with 16Gb RAM.After one minute the preview gets updated, but then the busy signal in the low left corner just keeps turning and turning for five more minutes. Why is this happening? Is Bridge still busy with those previews? Why? The preview has already been updated, why those extra five minutes of business?
Â
2. Image deleting is painfully slow.
You type Command + Delete, and nothing is happening for five, six seconds.Only then the images get deleted. Has noticed these two hold-ups?
I just went back after writing and editing this post, and Bridge is still busy with the preview update. This is now 15 minutes after the image had been edited. The busy signal in the lower left corner just never turns off again.
Â
It feels like Bridge has also problems working in the background. As soon as you open e.g. a browser to bridge the waiting for bridge, Bridge seems to keep the busy signal rotating, but not actually doing anything until you close the browser again. Which is why I just had a 15 minute wait for an image preview to finally update. The time spent in the browser did not "count".
At first I thought it was user error, but its happening while I'm editing the sheet set.
As I'm numbering the sheets, it gets stuck and won't allow me to advance to the next sheet. Next thing I know the sheet is greyed out and then the DWG file disappears from the foolder. Different sheet sets, different jobs, different drives on the network.
I am currently testing Lightroom on my computer and found a lot of useful features.
Â
1. Does Lightroom have a function against accidentally deleting of files or pictures?
Â
2. What about synchronisation? Can I use Lightroom on two computers, I mean when I work on the one computer, will all changes be available and visible on the other computer?
Â
3. Can I use one catalogue on two or more drives in my computer?
Â
4. Does Lightroom have a back-up function?
Â
5. Can Lightroom recognize faces of people so that the software finds all photos of the same person?
I have a problem moving files, importing files and deleting them from my disk.
Seems to be a problem between my Mac and Lightroom, but i'm not sure.
For some reason when i am editing clips (COD Clips) and other gameplays, files sometimes randomly delete on me. I go to the file and it's not there. Its basically like After Effects is deleting my files, i dont understand.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI've been having a problem with my AutoCAD LT 2010 completely deleting files after I have saved them and closed them. There is no file in the recovery manager, no back up file, nothing. It has happened three times without warning and it always happens to files I've been working on for awhile and have opened and closed multiple times. Is there any way to recover these files and how do I keep it from happening again?

This is not an issue with internal hard drives and is not an issue in LR4.4 on the same external drives.
In an effort to free up space on our company server I have been tasked with archiving and/or deleting files, of which a large amount are cdr files. So my question...yesterday out of a design subfolder I deleted around 1700 backup files comprising 19GB of file space. It would be except for one thing, deleting 19GB out of that one folder cleared up 160GB of space on our server.I have double checked my file counts, sizes, folder counts, etc before and after I deleted the files and everything adds up except for the 19GB deleted cleared up 160GB of space. Â These files were mostly last saved with x6, though some of them were probably first created with x4.

What's the best way to wipe a previous adobe installation? When I try to uninstall I get error 1714. Lightroom 3.6 installs fines. If I try to install regular lightroom 4, it only immediately converts to lightroom 4.1 installation?!??!?! I already converted my catalog folder to lightroom 4...
I made a complicated selection, which I saved to a channel. Then I inverted the selection and tried to delete the inverse (hopefully to transparency, but deleting to a background color would be better than not deleting at all). However, nothing happens when I press the delete key, or when I select "Clear" from the edit menu. Trying to use the Cut command doesn't work, either.
After deselecting, I can get the selection back through the channels dock, by right-clicking and then choosing "Channel to selection" or "Add to selection." It appear to replace the selection from the channel properly. I just can't delete anything.
I downloaded a Copy of AutoCAD Recent Documents Manager.exe from the autodesk website and it won't run on any of the computers in our system. I was thinking about writing a LISP routine to delete the filenames with a DST suffix by replacing them with the next filename in the list. My question is If I replace the file with the next one above and the filetime, filepinned and class respectively. When I reach the end of the list can I just use "" for the file, filetime and class and integer 0 for filepinned (it looks like it requires a double).

View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm using LR 4.3, and would like to know how to determine which .dat cache files are associated with a certain folder of images. I don't know programming code, and, when I open a .dat cache file, I cannot determine which image file it goes with.
Â
I've noticed that when I remove a folder from Lightroom, the cache files for the images in that folder remain, because the size of the cache doesn't change. I know I can flush the cache, but I don't want to have to reload tons of .dat files already present in the cache.
im trying to edit or delete the text on this image but i have no clue how. i want to put Hexy in instead of whats there, but i dont wanna mess the background up too bad. are there any shortcuts? or do i have to pain-stakingly edit it manually?

View 9 Replies View RelatedWhen I try to create a mask in photoshop CS, for some reason my picture starts to get deleted. In the picture below, I copied the background layer, and then deleted the background layer leaving me with just the copied layer. I clicked Add Layer Mask, and then clicked the Layer Mask Thumbnail in the Layers tab and then I clicked the Brush icon to begin making my mask.
In the next picture below, I tried to make my mask, but instead of that red color I normally get that show's where i'm masking, the picture is just erased.
