View 4 RepliesFirst off, I'm designing a 24" x 36", 150 dpi poster. There is a part in the poster where I want to create the illusion of space and stars. Easy enough, just make a new layer, fill it black, add a Levels adjustment layer, tweak the black and white sliders, and voila, stars....

It has been quite a while since I have posted. And in that period, my Photoshop skills have improved greatly. I am still learning a few new techniques and I just started working on brushing. There is a certain technique that I see quite often and would love to learn how to do. I'll post a few examples so you guys can see the effect that I am leaning towards.

I have tried to use custom mini brushes but, I don't want to paint over the picture, I want to cut out of it, like the attached picture. Is there a way to do this in PDN?

I'm designing a 1.25" diameter lapel pin. Around the border of the pin I've created six stars. How can I get the stars to follow a .75 circular path so they all align properly? Rather than try to do something freehand, I suppose I could use a font with a star character in it and align the font to path.

i feel like i've done this before with a tiling filter, but i'm not seeing it on CS3.
am i gonna have to trace over the image on a layer with a square brush? seems like there's gotta be an easier way. a plug-in someone knows about perhaps, or a series of steps maybe?
I want to create a droplet in CS6 that I can drag lots of images to and simply have it resize those images and save them to a new folder. I create an action to change the image size and save the images to a folder as a .jpg. I then create a droplet based on this action. I tried several times to drag images onto the droplet, though as it goes through the images it prompts me with questions as it is saving the images, and it never actually saves the optimized images to a folder.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI created a new file, set my sizes and all that, 8bit and began...I literally am using the line tool to make a straight line vertically, I then want to use my brush at 2pixels and 100 hardness to "stroke path", I set my brush then select path selection tool and right click on the line, but "stroke path" is grayed out? I really don't understand. I am following these directions from a website on how to create postcard back.
this is what i was following:
Create a new document with the same exact specifications used earlier for the front. Grab the Line tool and draw a straight vertical line shorter than the postcard’s height, and then place it slightly off center. Set your brush to a size of one or two pixels with a hardness of 100 percent. With the Path Selection tool, right click on the line and choose “Stroke Path.”
I just installed a fresh CS5, we are using some scripting that's installed on 5 other CS5 machines and this never happened before - when files are being saved (using 'save as', overwriting the original) this particular setup is saving xml files too!? See below
