Mar 1, 2013I have some text with stars powerclipped inside of wording. When I save as svg and open in sure cuts alot the stars are no longer power clipped.

Dec 14, 2012With automatic windows update 12/12/12 problem with fonts type T1, which are used in a document, suddenly no longer visible even after Save Image in PDF, but present on the document.
So when you format text in t1 long distance, for the update windows then this is visible, then no longer visible, but there was still. only way to solve computer back to earlier restore point, then everything is fine again.

Sep 16, 2013I am designing vector art that is much larger than the default 8.5 x 11. I change the page size to accommodate the art I am creating. When I export the art to EPS, all I get is this 2MB file that contains an image that is 8.5 x 11. What can I do about this?

Using Image, Mode I have verified on both that the images I am trying to save are 8 bit and not 16 bit images. I am on Window 7, 64bit.

Sep 27, 2012I am completely baffled by what is happening to my text. I am using a Windows 7, 64 bit computer and CorelDraw X6, and am trying to create a 3" round button graphic. About two weeks ago, I created a photo button and wanted to put white text on top of the button. This worked fine, and I sent the proof to the client.
They wanted to change the text and so I went in to change the text to what they wanted. That's when things went weird... Now, when I retype the text to insert it on the round path, I position it and then when I click off the text, the text is no longer white, but rather it has an orange outline and no fill!
I look at the color boxes and yes, the fill is white with no outline. I am no expert by far, but have been using Corel for many years. I do notice that whenever Windows does their little "updates" my computer gets wonky and they did about two of those updates in the last two weeks.
Today, I did a system restore back to 9/12/12, but it is still happening.

Some believe that files containing images that have been placed in containers become corrupt, leading to exceptionally slow file-open and PDF-publishing times (up to 5 minutes). Is this a culprit?
Do they always need to be Converted to Bitmap after clipping?
CorelDRAW X6 :: Power Clip - Zoom To Objects And Guides Visibility
Aug 21, 2012I am working on a photo layout of new students. This year I'm using X6 and am having some, uh, issues.
I'm using last year’s file (X3), and open it in X6. I click on an old photo and edit with PowerClip, instead of first editing several photos in Photo-Paint. I just drag and drop the new photo into the PowerClip and resize/resample it there. Next, I hold down the Shift key, click on the original photo, press C then E, and the two images are on top of each other. In X3 (and for as long as I can remember using PowerClip), I press F4 to zoom to objects (i.e. the two photos). I can then make any minor adjustments to fit inside my rectangle and delete the old photo before finishing my editing.
Upon pressing F4 in X6, however, it zooms to the entire page’s objects instead of the two selected photos. Is this by design? I now have to click on F2 for the magnify tool, and then click 'n' drag my mouse around the photos in order to get the same thing that took only one key stroke in X3.
Regarding those minor adjustments, the effect I want is to get all of the student heads about the same size: lining up the tops, chins, and eyeballs. In X3 while editing in PowerClip, these guides are visible; I can adjust the size and/or nudge to get things exactly where I want them.
It's different in X6: I can’t see the guidelines! They are BEHIND the PowerClip's photo and useless! If you switch to outline mode you can almost see them (along with the ghost of a photo), but then you have to switch to outline mode and if you don't switch back before getting out of the PowerClip, the photo doesn't show up. And it’s not a stacking order thing in the layers either: it does not matter where the guides layer is relative to my photo layer. Order is irrelevant.
So in X6, in order to use the guides layer I have to edit in the PowerClip, right click > finish editing, assess where I need to resize and/or nudge, then get back in and edit the PowerClip. Repeat until I get the look I want. Or just get it done in X3.
When I have the design ready and it's just busy work, I like to see how much I can do with keystrokes and not touch the mouse. I am so glad I still have X3 loaded on my machine. I want to get these two composites clipped and done. X6 is just not the same.

Jul 1, 2013I have been using several resizing and sharpening batch processes which have saved a resultant file at the end with a different name. In the Batch process an original folder was selected and a destination folder and the file name changed with a different custom prefix. I have been using these batch processes with no problems for years. Without warning I have noticed that all of these batches are no longer working and the end result is one file in the destination folder, ie it must me overwriting. I have tried to recreate the basic batch process again and have resorted to using both 'save; and 'save as' at the end of the process in different test batch processes and the same result happens pretty much each time, the one file after the original folder had 5 images. I have noticed that 'Save as' is not showing up in the actions of the batch process (only shows as 'Save' irrespective if you selected 'save' or 'save as'. It is like Photoshop is refusing to accept 'save as' with a new file as a valid action. I have also tried to check the override 'save as' box etc. If you edit normally in Photoshop and 'save as' for that image, there are no problems .

Sep 13, 2013When I have images placed in Illustrator, even just a few small ones, Save takes much longer..so long that it can be 20 seconds before I even see the progress bar, and after that the saving actually happens.
Is there a way around this, or are we stuck wtih mind-numbing save times when we have raster elements placed in Illustrator?

Photoshop :: Save As PSD No Longer Saves In Compatibility Mode?
May 2, 2013When saving a psd file I can no longer save in "compatibility mode". I'm using a Mac computer with OSX (version 10.8.3) and Photoshop CS6 (version 13.1.2 x64). I just noticed this problem tonight when I tried to bring a psd file into a MUSE project. Now whenever I save a PSD file the menu that asks if I want to save in compatibility mode doesn't appear (it just saves the file). I've reset the preferences and restarted my computer but Photoshop still doesn't give me a compatibility mode option when saving a PSD file.

CorelDRAW X4 :: User Symbols No Longer Visible?
Dec 31, 2011I recently had to reformat a hard drive and reinstall everything.
I have a bunch of custom made symbols that I use often and for some reason, when using the Symbols Manager docker, they are no longer showing up in the Local Symbols>User Symbols folder in that docker as they used to.
The old hard drive had XP Pro on it but this new one has Windows 7 Pro on it. I am aware of the path changes made in Windows 7 and swear I have the custom symbols located in the correct directory.
I am using X4 version 14.0.0.567
I have them placed in the following directory:
C:UsersAdministratorAppDataRoamingCorelCorelDRAW Graphics Suite X4User Symbols
When I attempt to create a new Symbol, it saves the new symbol file in the directory above and when I go to that directory, I can see all of my custom Symbols. They just are not showing up in Draw X4 for some reason even though they are there.

Mar 4, 2011I have been trying really hard now and this has ocurred several times before for me: I copy a text from MS Word and paste it into a Paragraph text frame in Corel Draw, and all I get is a line break. That's correct, just one line break, no text.
If I take just a few hundred words it pastes allright, but if I have like 14 000 characters including spaces, it fails to paste. If I paste the same amount of text into Notepad and then from there to Draw, it works alright. There seems to be a problem importing/pasting formatted text, even if you discard all fonts and formatting in the Paste text dialog.
If I go to Edit/Paste special/Text the import works, but the text does not land in the text frame selected or where you have the cursor active, instead you get the text in some randomly fomed text frames where you most likely don't want them, many times just as big as the page and with no margins.
So there definitely seems to be a problem pasting longer texts into Corel Draw.

Apr 9, 2012I am running the 32 bit trial of X6 and the transparent vignette bitmap effect no longer works. I have converted the bitmap to CMYK transparent and back to not transparent several times in CorelDraw X6 and it still does not work. I have event tried making the bitmap an RGB transparent background and it still does not work.
Then when I click "Edit Bitmap..." it DOES open as a bitmap with a transparent background but the vignette function in Photo-Paint X6 does not work with the transparency either. It forces a background color. There is no longer an easy way to fade the edges of a photo.
Why do you always manage to break stuff that was working Corel?

Jan 13, 2011I've done a series of system roll backs over the last week and now I cannot get any Corel program to open.
I've un- and re-installed twice but this has not worked.
I can see my .cdr files and their previews in Windows 7 but when I double click on one I get the error message "there was a problem sending the command to the program"
Is there something I need to do for a clean uninstall so I can reinstall correctly?
