Feb 26, 2006studying architecture and we tend to work on standard a1 portrait format sheets. Usually I just draw straight to pages etc but our new project is very conceptual type work and I wanted to try and incorporate some photoshop work into my pages rather than just plain drawings as usual.
how do I set up an A1 portrait format sheet in photoshop cs2? Is it just a case of finding the page measurements and starting a new document of those dimensions in centimetres? Or is there an option to this somewhere that I'm missing?
Also when it comes to printing.... I think I know of somewhere that I can take it to on a cd/usb drive and they will print it, but just in case that falls through, I've seen others split it into A3 size sheets and paste them together after... once you've created an A1 sheet is there a easy way to do this?

Oct 7, 2003I download PS templates quite often from BoxedArt.com to use for my own pleasure and occasionally a client website. I am a novice to Photoshop however, and don't know how to properly slice up a layout that has already been sliced. This makes it next to impossible to produce a web page from the psd file once I make the desired edits to it. It also doesn't help that I don't know how to properly create a well-structured HTML page from a psd source file.

Nov 19, 2012I am creating printable PDF files and up to yesterday I was using a free trial of PSE 10. To create a multi page document I first saved it as a PSE project file, then added blank pages, then when I was done I saved it as a PDF and voila - done!
Now my trial has run out I have bought the paid version (which is now version 11) and I seem to have lost that option entirely. The product is useless to me without a way to create multi page PDFs
Alternatively can I downgrade back to PSE10 which was fine for me!

But I have read though a couple of books, and cannot find a way through PhotoShop to place different photographs on one page. I am able to do it employing Quark xPress 4.0 and picture boxes, but that seems like a clunky solution, especially for web publishing.

Apr 5, 2014I need to create a 100 -150 magazine that will perfect bound. We have an InDesign file that we normally use for a 28 page saddle-stitch magazine. Should I use this same file and build on it? Or should I create separate files for the different sections? Can I bring the sections all together at some point? What about page numbering? I am obviously new to InDesign.

Oct 19, 2004I am making a flyer for my customer, in Page Maker. They are a florist, and I have edited the images from FTD etc to their standards.
I have run into a problem though. I have traditionally put FTD's logo directly on the images while I am editing them. A request was made, that all logo's would be the same size. In order to do this, I need to have the logo as a separate image with an opaque back ground in Page Maker.
I have been unable to paste in any images (.tif) with opaque back grounds. This is probably due to the fact that our printer has us use CMYK. Yet, photoshop can handle CMYK with opaque back grounds just fine, why cant Page Maker?

Jul 8, 2004I am creating some .jpg buttons in photoshop. At first, I could create a button and then do an <img src="location"> and the image would show up. But for some reason, now when I create a button and save it as a jpeg, and then do the <img src="location"> the image won't display. And I am positive it is looking in the right place for the image.
What I have to do is save the button as a .jpg and then copy that .jpg image and paste it over an old .jpg button that I have previously made that would show up. I would save it as the new button name then. After doing that then I can see the new button created.
I don't know if it is the way I am creating or saving the .jpg's that is doing this, or if I accidentially changed a setting in Photoshop.

Apr 16, 2008I have just finished putting very many weeks work into Photoshopping a scanned image and now I want to print it with multiple duplicate unaltered images per A4 sheet.
The image is 15cm x 7.3cm, so theoretically I should be able to print 4 of these on an A4 page no problem. However, the solution to how to do this simply and without altering the original image at all complete alludes me. I have tried using google to find a solution and have tried the File -> Automate -> Picture Package option, but besides being overly complicated this also seems to alter the dimensions of your original image. I have also heard about a "long way" of doing things, which involves creating a new A4 sized image and duplicating your image manually 4 times on this page sized image - however I am also quite stumped as to how I should do this without losing any detail of the original image.

I have tried picture package and just print, neither works. IPhoto makes this very simple but I'd prefer to use Photoshop where I edit most of my photos. print different images on one page and different sizes if possible.

Jan 11, 2013getting consistent crash when clicking on "new" in page setup manager dialog box.
Happens regardless of which drawing is open. Even for new blank drawings.This prevents me from creating new pagesetup overrides for Publishing. MAJOR PROBLEM.
At this point I have to get other people in the office to create new page setup for me. Editing existing page setups works find, only the "new" setups are a problem.
AutoCAD 2013 (G.114.0.0 SP 1.1), Windows 7.
Also, AutoCAD internal crash reporter is not called. Goes direct to Win 7, "Application has stop working" dialog.

I'm managed to create an *animated* JPEG of all 4 pages of that PDF.
I don't know how to create a static JPEG as one file of all 4 pages of that PDF - so it's not animated?

Nov 2, 2013Is there an easy way to create bleeds and trim marks for multiple objects on the same page?
For instance, I have a playing card that I've tiled across the page 6 times ( so that I can create 6 cards out of 1 page ). Each card needs it's own bleed/trim marks.
I'd also like to have printer registration marks for the page, as I have to print the card backings on another page and then glue the two pages together.
The only way I've found that I can do this is to manually create the trim marks for each object's bleed and just have them all within 1 artboard.
I tried doing it with multiple artboards within one larger artboard, but couldn't get that to work.
Is this something that just needs to be manually done?

Mar 15, 2011I would like to print multiple images on a single sheet other than those available on the sidebar of the print dialogue box.
I searched: "when you hit the print button-the wizard will come up- there is a "printing preferences" button- when you go there you can set the "pages" per sheet to 16- this will give you 16 copies of the picture on each sheet". The options I have available are 1, 2, 4, 9, 16 but I'd like 6 & 15 or possibley some other configuration. The second suggestion was to paste multiple images onto the page, is there a way to do that so the images line up in a regular grid such as might be done with cells in a word processing program?

Sep 7, 2013I have both CS3 and CS6 and I can figure out how to do this exceedingly simple thing. Take an image, use a tool to create a spot on the image, make that location a hotspot - making it clicking/a hyperlink to a URL.
This used to be - in the 90's - incredibly easy to do. I've tried slicing an image - but when I save for web - it creates multiple files, including, depending on how I save it, an html file.
That doesn't work for my needs. I just want to take a gif/jpg/png image and make certain spots on it hyperlinked to different pages in my website. When I'm done, I need it to be, to remain, as one file, as one single gif/jpg/png file.
No html. No css. Just straight-up image mapping/hotspot creation.

Mar 7, 2012My CorelMacros.CreateColorSwatch macro has stopped dumping the swatches into whatever blank Letter-sized document I have open (which is how it used to work) and instead it is creating a new document, at 4.25" wide x 7" high, and dumping the swatches into that. Using Pantone Solid Coated, but it's doing this regardless of what palette I choose.
There is no option in the Macro's dialog box to alter or even instantiate a page size, and I cannot find in the code of the macro where to set this variable.

Aug 31, 2012I'm producing a video in 1080p HD. I'm having an artist create a number of anatomical drawings and want to zoom in on portions of the drawings for some scenes. The artist plans to work with Adobe Illustrator CS5 and Photoshop CS5 to create the drawings, and will create layers I can use to animate the drawings. That is, I'll put a layer in motion over a background to create animation.
I've found the photoshop FILM & VIDEO 1080p/29.97 preset will allow the artist to create high quality images that will work when filling the frame, but I also want to zoom in on the images in Adobe Premiere CS5.
Are there different Photoshop/Illustrator settings I can have the artist use to create higher resolution drawings that will stay in high enough resolution for zooming in at 2x or 3x after I import them to Premiere?
