View 4 RepliesI came accross this background effect in a magazine and would very much like to know how its been created. I wouldnt have any problems creating the underlying blue gradient layer but its the white spiral effect that Im not so sure about. Ive tried spiral or twirl filters but they havent really given me this effect.
Ive also tried creating a circle, filling it with white then drawing circles within it using the marque tool then deleting them. Still not the desire effect though, and maybe there is a much easier method?
I am trying to create a gradient background. I've created the gradient but when I open up the gradient editor to play with the slider the changes I make don't show-up in the gradient when I click ok.

I am trying to insert a photoshop TIFF into a Quark document without background data so that I may overlap images. The photoshop TIFF I manipulated and saved is simply an image with the grey and white checkered background. There is only one layer. I assumed that this meant that it would import into the Quark doc without any background color but there is still a white background.

Thought this was a Photoshop problem. When I select a portion of an image in Photoshop (which has come from Lightroom) and press Delete, it no longer brings up the Fill dialog; it just deletes the pixels.
After some discussion on the Photoshop forum, I see that now, when I tell Lightroom "Edit in Photoshop", it creates a file which does not have a Background layer, and this causes the Delete key to act differently. This was not the case several weeks ago, but has just started to happen. Is there any adjustment I can make to the "Edit In" settings to get a Background layer in Photoshop?
I want to create a transparent text on a solid color background, and I need text transparency to go all the way to through the image (i.e. do not show the solid color background). I have the transparent background layer, the solid rectangle layer that occupies part of the image, and the text layer (with text element) on the top of the solid rectangle layer. How do I make text transparency to go all the way through? Here is a similar example for Photoshop CS, only in my case, the background layer is transparent (i.e. there is no picture): URL... Basically, I need to make the letters see through, so they show the background color on which the image will be placed. Is it possible to do in Photoshop Elements? I'm using version 9 on Windows 7.
View 11 Replies View RelatedI have Photoshop Elements 11. I designed a book cover with Microsoft Word 2010 and saved the file as a Pdf. I want to upload an image of this book cover to various web sites that require a Jpeg image and the book cover has to cover at least 85% of the image and require a pure white back ground. Pixel size can be 1,000 or more. I did go to the library to get reference books but, I can't ascertain from these books how to do this. I am a beginner to Photoshop and realize I will have to get training for future projects. I wanted to upload an image from my computer to show you the book cover but there was a dialogue box that appeared saying the file was too large to upload. The book cover I designed is 8.5' x 11.0"

I need to create a white boarder around a standard 4x6 picture, to create a picture with very specific dimensions, to expedite the trimming process on the final print. This "mobile white template" would allow me to select part of the picture. This White boarder would act a little like a mobile picture frame.

I've been working on a traditional/digital painting, and in my earlier ignorance about computer art programs, I accidentally left a background on it that I would dearly love to remove. Here is the partially-finished painting

I've been trying to create a fade-style edge transition that works regardless of the background the object is placed on. I've tried the blend tool and the shadow tool.
The blend tool gave a good result on a colored background, but it was terrible when the object is moved over anything lighter. The shadow tool was better at handling differences, but I can't find a way to make the shadow the proper color. I need the object's color to just edge-fade into whatever background it is on.

Im new with Paint .Net. What i would like to do is get an image which is 4248 x 3163 and resize it to around 250 px - this was done successfully however the next part of this task was to paste this image onto another background and float it to the right. So you know this is supposed to be a logo.
Now should i create another new paint .net page with the size i have in mind and then paste it to the right?
If yes how could i create a nice background that blends into the image? The type of background i have in mind is a few lines with waves flowing left to right and fading away.
