When I digitally paint, I have to manually move the spacing down for each one..Is there a way to set the spacing down for a whole set of brushes?
I just realized that brush presets won't save a brushes texture which is slightly annoying. I'm in CS6 btw and I'm familiar with photoshop which is why I'm posting here.
For example I have two brushes, a watercolor one (with texture turned on in the brushes panel to the watercolor background texture) I save it as a tool preset (I'm not making the saving as a brush preset mistake). I go make a paintbrush brush with a different background texture and save it as a tool preset. When I go use the watercolor brush it has the paintbrush background texture and NOT the watercolor.
I never touched the texture property until lately so I'm not sure if this has always been this way...
Is there some way to save that property or do I manually have to go and change it each time. I want to be able to share my brushes. Do I have to instruct people on which texture to use?

View 9 Replies View Relatedhow to create a brush stroke with a point on both ends? It's fairy easy to create a stroke with a point on the front end using the Shape Dynamics, but how do I create a point on the tail end as well? I have a Wacom pen and even the sensitivity function on it can't get a point on both ends no matter how sensitive I draw a quick stroke.
The stroke on the right is the typical brush stroke I get when playing with the "shape dynamics" to get a point on my stroke. The stroke on the left is one I rendered to display how I'd like my strokes to look.
I am having a bit of trouble with brush sizes compared to when I used photoshop. Using photoshop I could just click on a new brush size and shape as I was drawing. In GIMP it looks like one has to manipulate the size every time. And if you're to say use the eraser tool, it has to be manipulated to a desired size and then all over again to go back to drawing. Is there a way to save brush sizes and then just merely click to continue on?

Seems very strange! I am working with CS 5 on Windows 7. i have successfully saved files that don't use the blob brush. I haven't done an exhaustive investigation into similar scenarios that might also cause a crash at save. I tested a few stable files, including renaming them. When I introduce the blob brush, the file crashes at save.
I am currently working on a texture for a turtle that will be used on a model in 3ds Max. I am a moderate to expert level user of Photoshop, in my own opinion, but still have much to learn.
My question today is this. Is there a way to create an image and then use the brush to recreate it randomly over and over again on a canvas? This question is in regards to the scales I am making for the turtle texture. The brush has a whole slew of tools for changing the size, orientation, and scattering of the brush so I was wondering if it is possible to use my scale image with it somehow?
I have attempted to use the pattern stamp tool but it spaces them so far apart and there is no control like you get with the brush tool.
I'm using Illustrator to creat shapes that can be exported as DXF files then taken into a program used in CNC plasma cutting of metal art. I'm able to do this with art work drawn with the pencil tool and blob brush. I also want to do this with the brush tools creating florishes and other shapes. I've been able to take a paint brush drawn line with width, rasterized it, and then image traced it to creat a line shape with handles which allow it to be adjusted however I've not been able to get rid of the selection box, it seems to need to be selected in order to work on the shape, and the drawn lines created when I image traced it seem to be double lines. Also I can't get rid of the box that is drawn when I select the lines so I can use the handles to manipulate the shape. Most important I've not be able to export shapes draw this way as a DXF file.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI'd like to scatter a small image randomly, like you can with scatter & size jitter. View 2 Replies View RelatedSo I looked up some tutorials on how to do this because I wanted to maybe create some grungey brushes from these photos I took but I can't seem to make a test of what the tutorials tell me to do turn up in my brush palette. I followed both of these tutorials: [URL]. Saved the files as .gbr and .gih (i think is the other one it told me to do) and neither show up with my brushes.
In a related matter, I've never been able to find an option to refresh my brushes, there's no refresh button with the rest of them down the bottom of the palette.
I've noticed that one can download brush sets where several brushes are contained in a single file. Is it possible to use GIMP to create one of these files, or is that strictly a Photoshop thing?

I just got a bunch of new brushes and one of them is a series of 4 stitches that are oriented horizontally and look just like this - - - - . How can i run this in curves so that it still looks like stitches? When I stroke a path it creates a black mess(while using brush). When I drag and draw freehand the results are not much better. Is there anyway to make it so this can follow some sort of curved path? As if you are rolling the brush along a line like a paint roller and keeping the integrity of the brush? I'm using Gimp 2.6.10.

Remember, the direction in which the pattern is drawn should always instantly change in synergy with the direction in which the brush tool is drawn.
