Does anyone know the best way to do this with Photoshop of Paint Shop Pro?
I've been to many tutorial sites but just can't seem to get the right effect.
All I want is for my image to be white with black lines outlining the edges so that my children can be creative and color them in.

I'm trying to create a simple 6 image per page book using Auto Layout. No matter what I try, I cannot get it to lay the images out in sequential order.
The images are numbered 001_XXXX.jpg and I see them in the correct order in the LR Library.
This page [URL] has an example of a 3D book that I would like to know how to make on GIMP or through some other means starting from a square 1D cover.
I would also like to know how to make a good CD image from a square book cover:
This isn't a great example because it doesn't show image transfer to CD without distortion: [URL]
How can I color over a black and white image without losing what's originally there (lines, texture, etc)? Usually when I color it's using my own lineart, which I just put as the top layer so it doesn't get in the way.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI'm designing a banner for my gaming guild's forums. I have draw the logo/banner and textured it. After Desaturating the image im left with a nice B&W image.
I know of many ways to color the image but everytime that I do the color doesn't match the other colors we have on the forums.
What I want to do is color the image according to a color gradient that we use on the forums.
I would like to have the whitest pixels of the banner be the lightest color from the gradient(#c0a864) and the darkest pixels of the banner be the darkest color from the gradient(#917341). And have GIMP interpolate between those two colors for the other pixels in between the lighest/darkest.
Similar to how a Bumpmap works, only instead of simulating depth based on the range of colors from Black to White, I want it to colorize the banner.
I am making a map for a fantasy book and need to be able to duplicate mountains quickly. Is there a way to take a mountain (already drawn, colored, and cut out) and duplicate it without creating a new layer?
I've tried creating brushes and stamp patterns but neither does the simple task that I'm looking for. I just want to be able to place a full image the way you would place any shape with a paint brush.
Does anyone have any tips for removing the spine of a book from a scanned image? Any useful techniques or tricks?
View 18 Replies View RelatedI would like to scan the cover of my book but on it has a price tag that is very difficult to remove. Even if i removed it, there will be bits and pieces of it left.
Does anyone know how i can crop the price tag and make sure that that cropped area blends in with the book?
And if the book is a little bit yellowish as it is quite vintage, how do i touch up image?
I want to scan something and place it in a book without scaling the original up or down. I have not found a way to do this – Lightroom only tells me what percentage of the image is showing and it can be at any scale.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm having trouble trying to figure how to create a mini TOC in a book. The content of the book is divided in 6 files.
Sample of how it looks likes
1) - Front cover (Pg 1)
2) - EN (Pg 2-20)
3) - SE (Pg 21-40)
4) - DE (Pg 41-60)
5) - FR (Pg 61-80)
6) - ES (Pg 81-100)
From file 2-6 they have their own TOC. Simple and it works, since each file have their own list.
I'm trying to create a small TOC on the front cover telling me each page numbers for each language file/chapter.
EN............2-20
SE..........21-40
DE..........41-60
FR..........61-80
ES........81-100
At the moment, I do it manually. But, maybe there is no simple solution....
I am trying to seamlessly merge two pages of a scanned book into one consistent image. The image sides are slightly crooked and there is a gap between them. I can't seem to align the two sides and merge the two together.
Also when I align one side the other is will not line up. Here is the image:

View 4 Replies View RelatedI am in the process of making a photobook using Lightroom and discovered when I reached page 240 that I couldn't add any additional pages, much to my surprise. I was surprised because I knew from Blurb's website that the limit for standard paper is 440 pages and mistakenly assumed that this limit would also apply within Lightroom. I did more research online and found many others being surprised by this limitation after spending hours and days on a photo book. I will likely work around this by exporting from Lightroom to .jpg and uploading to Blurb, but that will take extra time and effort and reduces the appeal of using Lightroom to create a Blurb book. I had also tried exporting from Lightroom to .pdf only to find that the .pdf format exported by Lightroom is not compatible with the requirements of Blurb.

I am trying to up load a 40 page 12" x 12" photo book to Blurb from the book module in Lightroom 4.2. It renders the pages and then having rendered the cover gets stuck, about 50% to 60% through the process. None of the photographs are starred or colour coded. I have uploaded successfully from this iMac in the last few weeks.

I accidently erased 38 pages, so after I re-created them, I clicked on Create Saved Book, which put it in Collections. Now I am trying to work on the book again, and can open it, but when I go to the Library of photos, Lightroom automatically repopulates a new book with all the photos in that file and won't let me put them in the book I saved. How can I get this partially finished book so that I can use it?
