View 3 RepliesI want to notify adobe that CS6's 3d features currently have a fatal flaw in regards to obj's in that if you import an obj that had its uv's unwrapped in any other program (in my case, Maya 2012 and Headus UV Layout) then photoshop will split the model along the uv seams causing the UV seams to become unpaintable and also causing a lot of extra work when you reimport the obj into any other program because then all of the edges need to be reattached.
When obj's are your only choice, this makes photoshop CS6 unusable for any real texture editing.
I am currently selecting 10 objects from a picture and then I delete the background. This leaves just the 10 objects of interest in the image.
I have hundreds of these images and would like to compare the number of pixels or diameter of the objects across the images for each of the 10 objects. Is there a way I can automate Photoshop to go through a directory of images and measure the pixels of each of the 10 objects, and then export those measurements to a file?
I am wondering if I have this CS3 installed incorrectly. I had CS2 before and after my hard drive failed I ordered CS3. Before the new CS3 arrived I downloaded Picasa from Google and that was my image viewer in the interim. I also installed a trial CS2 on my computer from finding it on the internet.
When I downloaded CS3, my RAW images were opening up in Picasa which I didn't like. So, I went to Picasa's software and clicked no to opening RAW images in it. That fixed that problem and I also uninstalled the CS2 trial.Â
But now my CS3 Adobe Bridge doesn't recognize that there is CS3 Adobe Photoshop when I want to open TIFF or JPEG images. It opens them in Windows viewer. Even when I right click on an image in Bridge to Open with, it only offers me two browsers, Firefox and IE. Where do I go to reset the Bridge images to open in Photoshop? Right now I have to switch back to Photoshop from Bridge and go to File-Open.Â
When importing a 3D image into photoshop CS5 extended, how come the texture doesn't come too? How do you get the refined image and not a "cartoonish" looking image?
View 10 Replies View RelatedI'm relatively new to photoshop and I have been searching for a simple answer to this question.
I'm working with images scanned from 35mm transparency film and black and white negatives. The average size when opened in photoshop is .88inches width x 1.297inches height at 2000 pixels/inch. I'll be putting these images on the web as well as printing some.
My question is:
Can I work with them as-is in photoshop and change the size later (for web, printing etc) or is there some general size I should change them too prior to working on them in photoshop CS5 extended?
create extended clean plate to fill extensive holes (created by selections)?
Often I'd like to animate STILL IMAGE but I find very difficulties to fill extended holes in background...
I find Content Aware very very useful but when the background is very not homogeneous you can meet a lot of problems... and I don't now if in this new CS6 anthing is better in Content Aware..
Cropping and saving makes my images disappear in CS5 Extended
View 4 Replies View RelatedI am working on a video piece and I need to mask out a moving figure throughout the entire video, what is the best way to to this? I know that I can import the video frames to layers in CS3 and then create a mask on each frame, but there are thousands of frames - and when I render the video from the animation it is slow to run in quicktime. Even if I were able to edit each frame, it seems like there should be a better way.
View 6 Replies View RelatedLet's say, for example, that i create an object with a size, then i create other objects with other sizes.
When I try to see the size of the first object created it says that has the same size like the other objects which have other sizes (it's even obvius cause they r bigger on my screen:D).With all the other versions of Corel i didn't had those problems, but X5 does that.
Currently I am running PhotoShop extended CS5, 64bit. in which i have my fovorite plugins (Topaz, Nik and OneOne) running perfectly.
I have upgraded to Adobe Creative Cloud and installed PhotoShop extended CS6 using Adobe Application Manager as recommended. It didn't ask me if I wanted to upgrade or do a new install for PhotoShop. So now I CS6 running with no Plug-ins. I need my plugins! LOL.
I tried pointing to additional plugins in the CS6 preference to the CS5 plugin folder. Upon Launch it gave me a whole slew of error messages saying something cant load or launch C+ runtime error or what not. It does open up, but it only gives access to Nik and Topaz. OnOne doesn't show up under filters or extensions.
So, what are my options?
Just copy the plugins from CS5 to CS6?
I dont't want to reinstall all the plugins to CS6 if I don't have to as I've auto updated them over time to current versions online, so only have installation files for my original purchases.
I have had trouble that all of my images are fuzzy when i convert any image from any program in photoshop. i do not ahve an preset filters running to my knowledge,
View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm used to open my photos as smart objects. So I open them in Camera Raw, edit and open in Photoshop CS6 as smart objects.
My issue is:
In CS6 when I double click the photo and open it again in Camera Raw, I can't find a way to save the edits. I mean, if I close the photo in CS6 and open it again, Camera Raw keeps only the edits I made the very first time I opened the photo.
so I'm working on a pretty complex image with alot of composites - models on a new backgrounds, new heads, arms, etc. I had to scale these elements down to fit the image and I used smart object b/c i had to go back and forth and get placement approval before moving on to the retouching. I still have to adjust the mask edges in the smart object PSB's but it is really annoying to go back and forth from the composite image to the PSB with layer mask. Is there a way to rasterize the PSB into the final image with the layer mask so I can better blend it? I tried dragging the PSB with layer mask over but of course it is too big (because i scaled the PSB down).

I'm a new user of VideoStudio X4 and I looking for information about moving and resizing objects or images.
For example, the Star Wars sequence where the Star Wars title passes from back (very big title) to infinite with downsizing, not the long scroll text, only de main title.
In the old days (15years ago) we scanned a lot of files to DXB, and simply imported the image into the .DWG as small objects. (I believe they were treated as polyline segments). The lines from the original scan became a series of small polyline segments (not joined) but the scanned image plotted as good as the original, and even better, the objects could be erased and a "hybrid" drawing created without xrefs or "embedded" raster files. You could manipulate the scanned objects with normal autocad commands, and they existed on Layer 7.
Now, I am forced to Import a TIFF and "embed" the object (if I want it to be a permanent part of the drawing), and edit it with seperate programs like Raster Design.
QUESTION: How to convert a "embedded raster image" into a DXB image?
The scanner used to do the work for me and save the image as DXB. It was not a "vectorization program", but the raster lines became small (not joined) polyline segments in the process.
I don't want to "vectorize" with a seperate program, because then it just "traces" with a zero-width polyline.
The old scanner used to save to DXB, now I don't even see that as an option.
Any words of wisdom about creating a "scan" that can become "objects" (even small dots) INSIDE the DWG file, instead of a "Raster Image" that has to be xref'ed or "embedded", and will not even plot to a DXB or HPGL format?
I have mostly TIFF files that I would like to "convert" to DXB, and not have to re-scan them. I hate that the Raster file is treated as a seperate xref or "embedded" Raster Image.
I KNOW we used to scan directly to DXB and bring in the objects with the DXBIN command!
I'm creating a portfolio page on my website, and a while back I've seen a beautiful effect on someone else's portfolio site.
What they did was create a fairly large thumbnail image about 300 or 400px wide. And they took the home page and a details page screen grabs from their portfolio and combined 2 images into one thumbnail. The images were positioned one to the right one to the left, but angled (I can't figure out how). And one was over the other a little, but you could see the majority of each image, and there was a cool shadow effect behind both. I really wish I could create something like that myself, but no matter what I try I can't get anything that looks like what I remember seeing. I tried perspective, distort, skew, etc. Just can't get it to look cool and keep the images legible.
Can you create vector images in photoshop? Or is there another program you should use?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am trying to create a montage of small images with some text at the top. Say four 'oval' images and one line of 'arc-ed' text at the top. I intend to insert this finished monatge into a forum which has a plain coloured background. I wish my montage background to be transparent so that the natural colour of the forum background shows through (this could change out of my control).
The four oval images I want to be 'feathered' so that they gradually fade into the Forum background. I hope this is clear so far! Anyway I seem to manage this in Photoshop and can see the feather and the transparent background OK. Then I merge all layers and then save it as a GIF file. It still looks OK.
The firm at which I am currently consulting uses AutoCAD 2014. My system at home has P&ID. I don't use the object/3d features -- it is just the version of AutoCAD that I wound up buying. (I think it was on special or something.) In any case, some of our drawing files have become too cumbersome to use, especially on the machines at the office, and I wonder if my P&ID is the culprit. The large files appear to have AEC objects that are bogging them down, but nobody has ADT, so we are unsure from where these objects are coming. They may be coming from the client, but I wonder if they are coming from my system. Does P&ID automatically create AEC objects and, if so, is there a way to keep it from doing that?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a circle with split into 5 segments (image A).All of the segments have a stroke (1px) of white, and a fill.
What I want is for the STROKE to be transparent so that when I position the 5 segments over a different background colour (image B) I see the colour underneath where the white stroke would otherwise appear. To recap - I would like to retain the width of the stroke, and make the stroke coloue transparent..
I've tried the Opacity setting, but this applies to the object, not just the stroke.
I have cs6 - i should be able to create a qr code under objects but the option is not there...

I'm drawing some illustrations and want to fill overlapping objects with a paper texture. I have done this using the Transparency window and placing a paper texture image over each object. The problem is that where the objects overlap to create the whole picture, they are quite transparent and so you get the effect of layers of tissue paper. I want each object to look completely opaque, but despite opacity being set to 100% on each object, they don't.
I've tried filling the objects with lighter / darker paper texture images and tweaking the Transparency settings to Darker / Ligher / Soft or hard light, etc.
I can create a rotating image with sevaral images in Photoshop? Much like a gif? Would this improve my page load time or would it be the same as loading a slideshow? Here is an example of what we wanna do
View 1 Replies View RelatedI am currently using Photoshop CS4.Anyway, I want to make a grid, not necessarily with square grid blocks, then attach an image to a new layer underneath the grid. Then I want something that will go grid block by grid block, look for the predominant color of the attachment image within that grid block, and fill that entire grid block with that color. The images I am looking to attach are cartoon style (i.e. logos), and there are not complex color schemes to work with. The Pixelize effect is similar, except that it gives a blend of the colors which may not be in the grid space to begin with. i.e., if only black and white is used in an image, it might spit out a gray color shade rather than black or white. I am essentially trying to create a pattern from source images.
