Photoshop :: Crash CC Online Error Causes Unknown Software Exception
Jul 16, 2013
I have been having a problem with Photoshop crashing. It seems to be (may be) triggered by using the pattern "Pattern Overlay" option in the Layer Style dialog box. When I click on the pattern thumbnail to bring up the full range of loaded patterns.
Photoshop then seems to activate Photoshop Online Help, despite not being prompted to do so.I have two screen shots of the error messages which I am presented with. Unfortunately I seem to be unable to upload them to this message (I am using Chrome). This is another error to flag maybe?
One of the errors says, "Photoshop.exe - Application Error: The exception unknown software exception (0x40000015) occurred in the application at location 0x660561c9."The second error says, "Layer Style - Photoshop Online Help could not be displayed because you are not connected to the internet."
My system info is detailed below:
Adobe Photoshop Version: 13.0 (13.0 20120315.r.428 2012/03/15:21:00:00) x64
Operating System: Windows 7 64-bit
Version: 6.1 Service Pack 1
System architecture: Intel CPU Family:6, Model:10, Stepping:9 with MMX, SSE Integer, SSE FP, SSE2, SSE3, SSE4.1, SSE4.2
Physical processor count: 4
Processor speed: 2893 MHz

I have had numerous application errors which result in the PS CS4 shutting down unexpectedly. 1 such error message: "The exception unknown software exception (0xc000000d) occurred in the application 0x78138a8c". It happens repeatedly when I try and create Brushes, when I open normal jpg files, when I create new file. There seems to be no direct correlation between an action and a crash. (I have worked on CS2 with nothing like this ever happening.)
Recently I found that I couldn't import a .bip file onto my CAT rig. Here's the error message:
Unknown system exception
and highlights the following line of code:
local liindex = FindCATNode catNode;
I've tried several things and copy/pasting the error to google only gives a single page of results, with very few possible solutions. There was one saying I should replace the highlighted code with a different piece of code and restart max. this just changes the error message.
Another solution was to get max 2011 32 bit, save it there and open it up in 2012, however other posts had the exact same problem with importing 2011 files into 2012. so that also doesn't seem like a working solution.
That's about when I reached the end of the page... Could it be that importing the original BVH onto a biped and exporting the animation to .bip caused the .bip file to get corrupt or something? I've tried loading the BVH file onto my CAT rig directly, but this just crashed max.

i try to open Adobe Photoshop it gets through the loading screen and then comes up with this error message: "The exception unknown software exception (0xc06d007e) occurred in the application at location 0x7c812aeb" and it closes the program wether i hit "OK" or "CANCEL"
I have tried a number of different photoshop versions including CS2, and 7.0, and i have gotten the same error message every time. I have obviously tried installing and uninstalling. This error does not occur when i run my copy of Adobe Photoshop Premiere Pro 1.5
The company I work for has just switched to Max2012 but my machine has a problem with it. I get this error on startup and whenever I open and close the ribbon:
-- Unknown property: "validobjfunc" in #StructolyBoost(undefined:<data>;Public)
It throws open the max script editor window and a message prompt saying the above text. If I press OK, the message goes away. When I close the editor the message comes back and we have a loop!
To get around it I can press OK. Then run script and go to max root > stdplugs > stdscripts > PolyTools.ms
I looked around and saw people had this error on previous versions of max and the fix was to place a copy of polytools.ms in the startup folder. I tried this and polytools.ms crashes instead on startup. To me from the error given it looks like the ribbon isn't loading a script somewhere that it should do. Placing it in the startup folder makes sense as a temporary fix but in this case it doesn't work. I can run the script after every time max has loaded but this is inconvenient and means I can't do any batch operations which I do quite often.
My PC specs are Win XP x64 SP2, Xeon W3550, 12gb ram, quaddro 3800 and dual screen monitors, I also use a Wacom tablet.
The problem happens in both x64 and x86 installations of 3ds max. We have reinstalled 3ds max countless times. My colleagues have identical computers, hardware wise, haven't had the same issues. We're using SP2 patched 3ds max 2012 too.
I get an "Online Services encountered an error" message when I try to upload a video to Facebook or YouTube. I use Adobe Premiere Elements 10 on a Windows 8 machine
When opening PE 11, error message : online services could not be initialized. Please reinstall appears. Reinstalls does not fix problem. What do I do next?
I get an unknown graphics processor error when I try to use Oil Paint filter. I have been able to use this feature before and all my devices are up to date.
I just installed photoshop elements 11 on my Mac and am receiving an error when opening the organizer. It is stating that online services could not be initialized and that I need to reinstall. I tried that and it is still coming up. What do I do?
Now no save for web operation completes due to an error "Could not complete this operation. An unknown operating system error has occured."NOTHING has changed on the system.
I've trashed Photoshop pref... all of them.I've reinstalled the Mac OS 10.7.5 combo update.I've rebooted to a different drive and repaired disk and permissions (no issues found).I've Safe Booted.I've disabled ALL plug ins.
Uninstalling and will reinstall/update to see if that works.

I get this common exception while debugging right after I close AutoCAD. I have not even run any commands that belong to my project, just open AutoCAD and Close AutoCAD.

Illustrator won't let me save! It says "Unknown error has occured." I only have line work and text I placed from AutoCAD as a DWG file on the artboard and I was going to color the rooms in Illustrator.
We work on PC's with CS5 installed on approximately 7 seats. One artist posted this error message asking what do you do when you see this? Well now I'm seeing this message. Not funny. The problem started when I attempted to paste an template into a blank document. There was a conflict between swatches. I'm not sure how many there were, around 200 or so. Each one requireing me to click OK.
Starting yesterday I now get the above error message when clicking anything on any open Illustrator file (CS5 - Mac). Wondering if it's something I did or a corrupt pref file or what? How should I resolve this or what can I check?
I get an error "The operation cannot complete due to an unknown error" when I copy paste ax XL graph from MS excel to Illustrator CS6. This happens only when I paste the graph created in Win7 but when I paste the graph created in XP, it doesn't throw any error and works fine. why get this error only with the graph sheets created in Win7
We've been experiencing an issue with saving illustrator files (as .ai). The error message is "unknown error occurred" when attempting to save. Things tried already:
delete preferences file uninstall/re-install CS6 standardize all fonts to arial save in another location (desktop, network) save as .eps
But still same.
This happens when copying components of one ai file to another and trying to save it. Found that removing one tiny piece from a drawing allows the save. There is no text in that piece, just lines and shading.
In five years using Inventor I've never seen this- I can't get it the parts list or BOM to register the quantities. Each box comes up with "Unknown Error" and it will not allow manual override to update those quantities.
Sometimes I get a MAXScipt Callback script error – Unknown property Modifier. Everything seems to work fine with this message popping up but it’s just annoying.

I am working on a scene in Maya 2011 as a Maya binary and can open the scene up in Maya 2012 as a binary without any problems. But, when I save the file in Maya 2012, I can no longer open it in Maya 2011.
I've read in the forums that I can save it as a Maya ASCII file and have better luck transferring between Maya versions but I cannot get Maya 2011 or 2012 to save the scene as a Maya ASCII file.
I get the following error: // Error: File contains unknown nodes or data. To preserve this information, the current file type cannot be changed.
I've tried "Ignore Version" on when opening and have deleted all all by type/non-deformer history but no luck.
I'm attempting to export out an animation clip and got the above error. A similar post years back and said it was a plugin issue. But nor sure which plugin I might have turned off.
By the way, Steps performed prior to"
Selected mesh and rig (contains IKFK nodes)> Generated character set "walk", ect Then while still selected, Edit>Keys> Baked Simulation Then from the graph editor and the character selected, File> Export Animation Clip....that's when I get the error.
I think I covered the steps correctly. Maybe I'm missing something?
You more experiance animators/riggers might be able to shed some light on this modeler.
Attached is a surface model with parameters which drives an assembly I have. I was testing it by changing dimensions to see where failures in the main assembly occured. It worked for a few changes so I saved it and checked it into vault.
The Split using the 70 Deg Plane (you will find them in the browser, Split 5 and Split 7) is where the problem occurs. When I increase the outside diameter (i made it 147 in.), Spits 5 and 7 get moved up to the top half.
The same surface (named OUTER HOUSING SIDE) and its mirror are split on the XZ plane prior to the splits in question (5 and 7).
I have both 32- and 64-bit versions of Adobe Illustrator CS6 The error occurs only with the 64-bit version,The error occurs only when saving files containing text objects.Unchecking "Create PDF Compatible File" doesn't solve the problem. Resetting Illustrator's settings also doesn't work.
It's pretty much time taking switching between the two versions and I also have files pretty big enough that require opening in the 64 bit version.
I am not able to save my files and illustrator gives the message 'An Unknown Error has occured'. In a previous discussion transparency is called out as the culprit however I am not using transparency in my document and have checked all the items. I have also tried copying the work into a new ai file however this also will not save. This is has happened to me about 5 times since I updated to CS6.
Update - I just closed Illustrator and lost all my work and then an Adobe update window showed up asking me to update Adobe Air. I recall an Adobe Update window appearing once before when I had problems solving. Could the Adobe update window interfere or prevent me from saving my documents?
Trying to troubleshoot a weird issue w/ Lightroom 5.3 on a PC. Updated my current catalog and wanted to import a couple of old catalogs to consolidate images. The first two of the old catalogs updated and imported just fine, previews were merged, data seamlessly integrated -- all good. But the third catalog is giving me no end of grief. It goes through the update process to be LR5 compatible, but when I say "import everything" on the list of found images/folders, it tries for a bit, then fails out with "unknown error". This happens regardless of what I pick from that catalog -- even a single folder. It also happens if I export a sub-catalog from the old catalog and try to import that. But the updated catalog runs just fine on its own.
I've tried optimizing the offending catalog and checked for any possible issues with folder names, missing images, incompatible formats etc. etc.
I'm reluctant to try the "reverse" operation and import my main catalog back into the old, "challenged" catalog for fear of future corruption.
I use lightroom to edit the timelapses I shoot and it works brilliantly with the sync setting. But my problem is I use presets that call for the slideshow to move at 24 fps, 26fps, 30fps etc. and some of these time lapses contain over 300 photos and whenever I try to export the timelapse as a video from the slideshow module about an 8th of the way into the progress bar it stops and a message comes up that says "unknown error occurred" So my question would be: Is there a maximum number of slides you can have in a slideshow and is that what's causing this to happen?
I receive that message when I try to open a new document. My others such as Photoshop and In Design are fine as far as I can tell. I'm using CS4 on Windows 7.
