View 3 RepliesI installed Mavericks and decided to update to Illustrator CC. It downloaded fine and when I went to launch it it opened up to the promo screen showcasing the new features like rounded corners and the segment editing tool etc. When I go to click the "Done" button Ai CC crashes. Nothing I do resolves this. So I ran uninstall and re-installed it and the same exact thing happens every single time.
A few points of fact:
- I have NO PLUGINS installed for Ai CC
- I do have Ai CS5 installed (Need this to access old art in my archive that is FreeHand format)
- I have Ai CS6 installed (Because most of my clients aren't on Ai CC yet)
- Photoshop CC works fine
- MUSE CC works fine
I uninstalled Ai CC again and the past two days had a MAC IT specialist come in and clean up my entire system to make sure it's in perfect condition before I downloaded and tried to install Ai CC again. My system hasn't been this fine tuned since I installed Mountain Lion, everything is working great.
I tried to install Ai CC again and the exact same thing happened it crashes at the promo screen. When I go and click the "Done" button the beach ball spins and the whole app goes down. Every single time with no exception.
Ai CS6 works fine, no problems at all.
Here is the crash report generated when I last tried to install Ai CC: [URL]
My system information is here too in case you need to know machine specs: [URL]
The inane "Adobe Customer Care" on twitter isn't cutting it with their scripted responses that solve nothing and blame everything on the user.
This is really getting old and I've wasted two days of work time because what should be simple, simply is not.
i want to make a promotional flyer for a party event coming up and i will be working with photos and other bitmap images. is this possible in corel or photo paint?
View 2 Replies View RelatedDoes anyone know how to clean dirt from a photo without losing the texture or the original integrity of the pic? The photo attached has a layer of brownish dirt discolration evident around the collar and clothing. I imagine this would take hours to correct using the stamp tool. I'm sure there's a way to combine layers or something to clean this up without over-softening the photo.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have found a projet to make a patch of ground but it uses a mix to add grass, and I want only to have a patch of dirt with alpha on the edges, so it overlaps a huge plane of grass or snow or anything else I put under it.
But the path of dirt remains the same.
I tried to duplicate the thing but the edges look horrible.

Using Paint.net 3.5.10
I am trying to add some red bricks similar to the ones shown on the house to this dirt path.
I tried adding a layer, made it an overlay, and copying and pasting the bricks onto the dirt area. That didn't work. Tried using the clone tool and that didn't work.

I've been trying to work on my color matching skills (which are poor). The long term goal is to be able to match a sample texture's color with other texture samples that have been de-saturated then re-colored to match the original so that they can blend in and out of each other easily.
I'm using the attached image as a sample, then de-saturating it and trying to get the same color in the de-saturated image. I've tried using different mix modes, different base colors, playing with levels, colorize, and other plug ins - but I can never get quite the same color across the image. Its either too brown, too red, too yellow, etc. I was wondering what methods would be used to get a close to exact result - and for that matter, if it is even possible to color match only using 1 base color as a overlay (or other mix type)?

how to calc dirt quantities in Civil 3D. Not just on roads, but say you have a small mountain of dirt that needs to be hauled away, and the contractor asks if you can quickly tell him how much dirt is there. And subgrade quantities for pads. Things like that.
First off, I'd need to learn the correct terminology. Knowing what to call stuff can at least make you sound less stupid when you ask a question.

I'm a furniture maker in Japan, and usually take photos of my work on the road next to my shop. I like the texture of the blacktop. Using Gimp, I'm working up the learning curve, and don't know how to remove the white lines and dirt at the upper corners, and extend the pavement to cover it. I'm hopeful that with Gimp, it can be accomplished.

I am a student using Inventor 2013 Professional. I'm working on a project for school comparing levees made of different materials. I've created multiple levees from different materials. I can perform stress analysis on some of the levees, but when I try to do the simulation on levees made with dirt or sand, I get an error stating "Some materials are not defined correctly. Please assign a valid override material in the Assign Materials dialog." how I can create levees with these materials and perform the stress analysis on them like I can with metal and concrete levees?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm working on a poster for a production of Julius Caesar and I'm trying to create a propaganda poster very similar to the one below. Any ideas on how to turn a regular photograph into a style similar to the one of Lenin? I'll try and post the picture I'm working with as well as the example poster. I've tried posterizing and blurring and colorizing but I can't quite get the yellowy tint as well as the kind of dotted shadows seen in the picture.

I am having trouble adding text to a poster where I have dropped in an image and added a border. The only way I can add text is to flatten the image then add text. Also when I try to add a image with "place" to make it a smart object I have the same problem. If I flatten the image to add text then I can't save the file as a template.
