I have a color picture, and I want to convert it to B&W, and then I want to add another color to it (for example – red). I don’t want to paint some areas in it, I want for example to keep all the red parts of the picture, or only part of the red parts.
It something like in the movie Schindler's List, in the B&W scene where you see a little girl with red coat.

Is there any way in Elements 9 to convert a color or color range to "transparent"? I want to change a white background of an imported image (a map) to transparent so only the non-white objects (lines and shapes) are present. The image is way too complex to select each area individually.

Is there anyway to transform a 4-color picture into a 2-color one at reasonably good quality?
The problem I met is at the galley.I could, or migh, only be able to get a 2-color printer at reasonably good price.
The original design is 4-color. But the actual detail is not very important. They are book covers, which only need to protect the book.

I have a color picture which I took, of a red berry bush. I want to remove all the color except for the red from the berries. I know how to lasso the berries, but I can't remove the color from the bush/background and leave the red berries.
Note: I did this once a couple years ago, and can't remember how I did it..I have some memories, but probably remember just enough to make me dangerous. I have done some searches but obviously the results are numeorus and I haven't found what I am looking for yet.
I know the solution involves selecting the berries and then inversing it and then setting all 3 colors to 0 for the background.
What I can do is
1) lasso the berries
2) inverse
what I can't figure out
1) it seems like there was 1 step about layering which enabled me to get started, but I don't remember this, it does seem like I am missing something very basic when I try to do this
3) Where is the color scale, the only thing I can find is the grayscale option which switches the entire project to black and white.

I have a layer that is all white with text and some shapes (with heavy anti-aliasing, so the alpha channel variations of white, too) and I am trying to convert it to a specific other color (just a cream color that I have the HTML code for).
So, when a layer is all one color (not counting variation in alpha values), is there a technique to change that to a specific other color, rather than just toggling the "Color Balance" to get an approximation?

Is there a way to apply a color to selected objects without having to search for the color in the color palette. So say if I am working with an image that has multiple colors but want to use only one of the colors in that image, is there a way to apply it without having to create or add it to the palette.

I'm attempting to convert a grayscale image into a one-color (preferably black) image for screen printing on a white background. I was thinking something along the lines of gradient created with different-sized black dots?

Whenever I zoom in, in Photoshop CS6 the color changes between the orignal photo color, to a more contrasted color, and then back. It happens when I also use the lasso tool, patch tool, zoom, etc. I've included a video, with a random image. P.S The effect happens with any picture in RBG, but goes away when I switch to CMYK. It also happnes If IÂ type in text.

How can I convert all of the transparent (100% transparent) pixels in an image to a specific color?
Â
Adding a color layer below is not the solution I'm looking for, because some pixels are partially transparent and I don't want to modify those ones.
Â
I use the "select color range" feature alot to do things with specific color pixels, but that feature doesn't seem to work in this case.
Â
I am creating bitmap images for a program, where the transparent parts of the image need to be represented by a specific color.

I want to covert a color photo into black and white but bring back a certain color. How many ways are there to do this? Which method is the most professional (as in provides the most professional finished product) I've read about doing it using the paint brush to bring back the color, also the color selection tool.
The particular image I'm trying to achieve this on is not so simple. The part I want to bring color back into is a dripping pink ice cream, so there are small drips and blobs, often with fair skin color in the background. Ice cream is dripping down face and hands and body and I want to preserve these details accurately. The bits I need to bring back aren't large blocks of color so I'm finding it very difficult to achieve a professional look.

I get different results when converting to the same color profile before and after converting to smart object.Do the following:
Â
1. create a cmyk document with color profile 'Euroscale coated v2' and fill the document with the color 86, 32, 14, 0
2. change the color profile to 'Euroscale Coated v2' -> the values change to 73, 29, 16, 0, no color change on the monitor
3. create a smart object -> the values stay the same, no color change on the monitor
 4. create a second document like in step 1
5. create a smart object -> the values stay the same, no color change on the monitor
6. now change the color profile to 'Euroscale Coated v2' -> the values stay the same, this time we have a color change on the monitor.

I'm choosing the color I want to replace and then choosing a color out of my swatch to replace it with and when the color loads onto my image it doesn't look anything like the color i chose. I don't want to use the saturation, hue, and lightness bars. I have a specific color that I want to use and it doesn't seem to be working.
