Photoshop :: Complex Color Problem
Feb 10, 2009
On my home and work computer I have Photoshop CS3 installed. Both the home computer and my work computer have the default installation with no configuration changes.
When I open an image file (any foramt) on my work computer in photoshop CS3 the images appear to be filtered in a way that while open in photoshop CS3 the images have a rich golden look and appear sharper.
The original files are very pale like sun bleached drift wood. If I save the images and open them in other applications the the images look like the original files (pale bleached look) and do not retain the adjusted look. When I open the same files on my home computer in CS3 the files do not have this golden look, but retain the original pale bleached look.
I "uninstalled" photoshop on my work computer and deleted all references and settings that I could find for photoshop. I then reinstalled photoshop and logged onto the computer as a new user. The images still have the golden look while open in photoshop CS3 and not the actual pale bleached look.

I have a fairly complex black and white design and I want to delete the white from it and have nothing but the black with transparent holes. Is there a way to remove all of a certain color in that way? The Magic wand would take forever to select everything I want to remove.

I have a client which wants me to change the color of his products - from bronze to chrome and vice versa. I'm specialized in web design in Photoshop, I tried different techniques but didn't manage to get a good enough result. I have to add that it's not only 1 product, but up to 100. Here are the images: [URL]....

I have very complex file, with hundreds of paths, shapes, text, outlined text, etc... It's a brochure with graphs, scematich drawings and text.
Last moment, the client like the reverse the colors from (current) Black on white, to all White on dark gray background.
Problem is, I can't seem to find easy way to just change the colors, without selecting one by one, every single object. When I selest all and choose white, it start filling paths with solid fill... Editing it wastes allot of my time and I have many pages to do.
Is there any way to simple change color of everything at once, just from black to white ? Or do I have to go object by object manually ?

I have two images, a picture and an overlay. The overlay is made in Photoshop using Render Clouds and the Plastic Wrap filters. I overlayed this on my picture using 50% Fill and Linear Light blend mode.
I hid the picture, and saved the overlay as a PNG-8, hoping that the variable transparency would hold. It didn't. The question is, is there a way to control levels of transparencies in a GIF or PNG?
I already know you can edit the Color Table and select different colors, or shades as it were, but there doesn't seem to be any way of implementing 50% transparency. Or really anything outside of either it is or it isn't visible.

Photoshop cs6 64 windows 7 64. I'd like to do a highly repetitive action to a single open file. In this case:
file save as currentname_print.psd
then commit action save as currentname.png
then commit another action and save as currentname_small.png
at the moment batch seems to be great for running the same action for many files, but if I want to run a repetitive action such as this I can't seem to figure it out. but I cant seem to get it working, and searches only seem to turn up questions about doing the same action to multiple files.
ps: it seems strange that within the action menu I cant create sets that have variables aka current file name+afix, if the actions feature had this I'd be golden.
ps+ also seems that this could be handled by bridge quite efficiently.

I have to start off by apologizing for asking a question on my very first visit here... Sadly, I don't have a choice and if I don't find an answer to this question/figure out how to do this, my brain is going to explode and it's going to be messy.
(Working with Photoshop 7.0) Here's my problem: I have a picture of a woman coming out of a river. The river is banked with snake-like, winding ground with good sized grasses and a small layer of dirt layering to the water level.

I'm using Photoshop CS6 in Windows 7 64bit. I've seen other posts about a bug if you are trying to complete a 3D extrusion when a triangle is present, but my issue seems even more basic.
I'm drawing a simple wave shape with the pen tool set to shape, no fill, 1px stroke. I'm simply drawing three points to create a simple sine wave - the idea being to create a wavy piece of 35mm film. The image size is quite big - 6000 x 4000 px. The first time I did it, the rendering worked fine but I didn't like the curve I had drawn, so I stepped back and tried again. Now, whatever I do, I get the "Could not complete because the path is too complex" message.
Is this a known bug and are there any workarounds to create a single pixel wide wavy shape in 3D that looks like a piece of film.

I'm running into a bit of a problem with having a shape extruded in 3D.
If I draw a rectangle shape set to path over an image and then choose "source - work path" and "3D extrusion" I will get a 3D rectangle with the image on the front side.
If I draw a 3 sided polygon (triangle) set to path over an image and then choose "source - work path" and "3D extrusion" I will get a error telling me that the path is too complex.
I'm doing the exact same thing. Now, if I have 4 sides plus, on the polygon it will extrude just fine.
Something seems to be happening with 3 sided polygons. This holds true with the pen tool as well. Three points will give you the error, 4 and above seem not to.

if it was indeed possible to remove text from an image with rather detailed background. I'm no stranger to Photoshop and the Adobe Family however I've tried several methods and all of them seem to work but finished result looks obviously doctored...
Here is the image, my client wants the price from the image to vanish, while retaining the background!I have tried myself to accomplish such a result but my attempts at this

I find that CS6 frequently feezes when I try to use the lasso tool to add to (or subtract from) and existing, complex, selection. Any fix for this? am running the most recent CS6 on a MacBook Pro with 8GB of RAM and ~250GB of free hard disk space.

I don't mean "Hide" as in right clicking and hiding selected objects, because that doesn't seem to work.
I'm working with Rayfire and need a way to remove the fragment objects from my view so the program will run faster.
Alternatively is there any way to combine multiple scene's objects instead? (so I could work on the fragments and then the rest of the scene and then combine them.)

I'm working on a part of an image that, I suppose, is "complex".
I'll start by saying I have no snap to options selected. I'm zoomed to a section of an image and moving the node arrows to create the pattern. Why do the arrows push each other out of the way? How do I manage node manipulation without the pushy arrows? Is it possible to have too many nodes? I only have this happen when working on something with a lot of nodes.

cropping/cutting complex meshed 2d objects.I create a 2d plane and divide it to 100x100 sections. How can I extract a star from it preserving the meshed squares of the plane?
In Illustrator I'd create a compound path from the 100x100 (10.000 squares) and extract it. Then I'd create a star position it in front of the plane, select both and hit "crop" in the pathfinder.
What I actually need is to "subdivide" 2d shapes but if I apply the subdivide modifier It applies a triangle mesh and what i need is squares manually delete the outside segment by segment but I'm talking real complex shapes..

the situation is this:
* i have a cube with "Noise Rotation controller" assigned.
* On the other hand, i make a strip that comes flying in a straight line (a rectangle whit "path deform modifier" OSM).
* when both meets, the strip moves around the cube following it, and then keep his trajectory in a straight line.
I resolved attach the path to the cube, and works pretty well in the middle section of the trajectory , but at the start the path keep rotating whit the cube, and mess it up.
in others words, i need to attach temporarily, only when the strips fly around teh cube.

I'm a beginner/intermediate level 3ds max user and I've recently starting to model what I love the most - sci-fi stuff, more specifically, space ships. So, I've been browsing the net looking for models done..Now, there's one very specific question in mind: does a ship (say, a very creative and complex concept) has to be one single object, or can it be a group of linked objects? Notice that I have in mind game development. URL....

I am trying to create a complex shape with an opacity map. To keep things simple, consider an egg shape with heagon shaped windows. I have tried to create a solid / shell with boolean cut-outs, but getting these windows at the right angles is becoming very difficult. So, I tried a CV Surf with an opacity map. This allows for the windows to work well, but there is no depth to the surface. Is there a way to add depth to a CV surf object? Also, I want the map of the interior to be different from the exterior. A solid will have a ton of polygons, making mapping a huge time sink.

I was sent a complex illustrator file recently that contained a lot of distress patterns and points that is basically impossible to work with. It takes 10-15 seconds just to select or deselect any of the objects. I'll I need to do is move the art around a little and resize stuff, but it's taking ages with the lag. I'm using CC on Windows 7 64bit. What options are there to work around this? Is there a way to tell Illustartor to stop rendering, so I can just move stuff around without it lagging so bad? I thought the new engine was supposed to be faster and better at rendering.

I have a shape that happens to have many nodes; it was simple to extrude it (inventor saw it as a complete shape) but adding fillets is another story. each tiny segment requires a click to select it. is there any way to simplify this — either through simplifying the path somehow or by selecting the edge in some other manner?
i saw a thread on the forums about imported 2d vector files with a similar issue. I did import my file but it came from rhino. everything is fine except this one issue. i guess i could go back to rhino but i would prefer not to.
i have attached a small screenshot of one area of my sketch.

I am modeling an ASME pressure vessel with a 2:1 semi elliptical head upon which there must be a couple of lines of .375" trace tubing. I created a 3dpolyine that is the center line of this tubing, and joined all the segments into one so as to be able to sweep the whole thing and make one solid of the tubing run, but it simply will not sweep. I get a message this it is "unable to sweep the selected object." If I break the 3dpolyline, I can sweep parts of it, but the more complex the line segment, I again get the error message. I have attached a copy of the tubing centerlines.
The one on the left is the joined 3dpolyline, the one on the right is the 3dpolylines unjoined. (These were achieved using an intersection command of a rotated surface--the head profile--and an extruded surface--the tube tracing plan layout.) I have done this before, but only with the unjoined 3dpolyline, as in the right-hand example, but that is very time consuming as each segment must be swept. But I recently acquired a third-party LISP routine that joins the 3dpolylines into one. I'm thinking there must be a limitation on data of the 3dpolyline preventing the sweep, and wondering if there is a setting or system variable that will allow the more complex 3dpolyline to be swept.

I am tring to grade a complex object. Please see the attached document. The two grading objects are not interfacing correctly when graded although i can get the surface almost correct i beleive. Is there a way to remove this issue or the grading will not create a lot of difference when computing the volume clacs ( we are talking volum computation roughly about a million cubic metres cutting).
