Photoshop :: Can't Seem To Close/maximize/minimize
Mar 1, 2008I can't seem to close/minimize/maximize my windows in PS.
View 2 RepliesI can't seem to close/minimize/maximize my windows in PS.
View 2 RepliesWhen I first installed Photoshop CS6 Extended on my Mac it had a bar running along the top that had the program name in it (Photoshop) with the red, orange and green, close, minimize and maximize buttons in it.
Â
Somehow I have turned this off and the three buttons no longer show. Below is an example picture of the bar I'm wanting to turn on: I have the application frame turned on and they still do not show.
Have been using Xara products for years and currently on Photo and Graphic Designer V7.
Normally, I have the three windows icons in the top right (minimise, maximise and close) and these normally operate on the whole of the Xara window. (If I minimise, then Xara minimises to the task bar and I see my desktop etc.)
However, today, if I click on minimise, then the drawing (within Xara) minimises, and I'm left with the Xara window but no buttons to minimise, maximise or close the whole window .... it's just there and the only way I can see behind it is to drag the sides in or use FILE / EXIT to close the program.
Been using PSP since X2 and never had any real problems, but I recently purchased and installed x6. It started giving me a problem I couldn't live with so I uninstalled and then reinstalled PSPX6 Ultimate. That didn't fix the problem tho.
My problem: when I click on minimize, maximize or close, nothing happens. Repeated clicks of maximize has more than once even closed the program altogether.
As I mentioned, re-installation did not fix it, although the first time I clicked maximize after re-installation it did work. Then it quit.
I almost always work with multiple drawings in the same Autocad window. Often (maybe 2/3rds of the time?) when I have one drawing maximized inside the Autocad window, the minimize-downsize-close buttons disappear from that drawing's window. The only way to get them back is to cascade the windows.
View 3 Replies View RelatedAm running the system as above and can't ever see the minimize/maximize/close buttons normally in Win 7's title bar. This means I have to keep quitting the program if I want to do anything else.Am I doing something wrong here or is this a bug of this particular implementation?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have Lightroom installed on two Windows 7, 64bit systems. On one the top line above the File, Edit, Library... line is the expected; Lightroom 3 Catalog... at the left end and the three boxes on the right (minimize, maximize and Close). On my other system that line is missing. How to get it back?
View 2 Replies View RelatedHow to restore bar at top showing minimize maximize close options?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm using autocad 2013 & the classic workspace instead of ribbon. Â For some strange reason, if 2 or more drawings are open & I minimize a drawing, it removes the minimize, maximize, close buttons from the right top side of the screen like in the attached picture. Â To get them back I have to go to the window pulldown & select the drawing from there. I'm using windows 7 pro with a nvidia quadro 1000m card.
View 2 Replies View RelatedEach time I open a second or third file in CorelDraw x5, the windows seem to lose the top MIN, Max Close icons. You know the ones that sit at the top right of each window. Because of this I'm unable to close or edit the work. In fact NOTHING works. I'm running Windows 7 64 bit with a TON of memory.
View 3 Replies View RelatedThe minimize / maximize / close menu bar has disappeared and though trying nearly everything I can think of it has not re-appeared. I am using CS6 on a MacPro.Â
View 4 Replies View Related1. had this problem for sometime. running windows 7. When i minimize my autocad window from maximise to the taskbar, for some reason when i click it on the taskbar to bring it back up, it has shrunk to its restore down size instead of the maximised window it was. This problem seems to only occur on win7. I don't have my windows aero themes off as i know of those problems, whats causing this one?!
2. whats also annoying in windows 7 is that i choose not to have my taskbar buttons combined, i am only in one session of autocad yet each drawing has its own taskbar button, is this normal?!
I'm running Win 7 on an 64 bit OS machine. LR 4 doesn't display the App control buttons in the upper right hand corner controlling CLOSE, REDUCE and MINMIZE the App. Clickingblindly in their location does nothing either. I can find no way to get them to be functional.
View 1 Replies View RelatedThe minimize, restore down, & close icons keep disappearing from the upper right hand corner on my current drawing file in 2013 LT. They will reappear once I re-zoom the drawing. Is there any way to keep these icons on the screen at all times?
View 2 Replies View RelatedJust upgraded to Photoshop CS4. In my previous version, CS2 when I maximized the image I didn't lose the PS menu bar. When I maximize in CS4 the top menu selection bar goes away and I can't edit the image.
View 3 Replies View RelatedThe toolbox remains minimized.
The healing tool remains selected. I've tried the following:
1) Reopened program
2) Restarted CPU
3) Reloaded software
Preferably via a batch function, since I have 50 or 60 files... maybe more, that I've been saving with maximized compatibility.
Â
I tried disabling 'Maximize Compatibility' and re-saving the files, but this didn't result in reduced file sizes as far as I can tell.
Is there any way (in PS 7) to force imported images to automatically maximize and then enlarge to actual pixel size? When I'm retouching dozens or hundereds of images it gets time consuming and mundane having to manually maximize then ctrl+alt+0 to view as 'actual pixels'. I've read the manual cover to cover and didn't find anything (or I missed it).
View 9 Replies View RelatedI was working on multiple projects, and you could see all of them. I maximized one and now i dont know how to get it minimized so i can see all the projects at once. how do i do this?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI found out that QuickLook in Mac OS X doesn't work properly for PSD documents if the file is saved without Maximize Compatibility feature. If you press space bar, only white canvas appears and not the actual document. I don't want to use this feature because I don't need the compatibility and all the files are much smaller without it. However, as I work with a lot of PSD files I am used to use QuickLook a lot. Is there a way to have maximize compatibility disabled and at the same time be able to use previews with QuickLook?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI am having troubles with printing my work in Photoshop. The problems is that the printing window is to large for my 10" screen, which means that I cannot see the whole window and the printing button. How can I make it smaller, so I can print?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm using CS3 on win XP. I'm creating a massive montage of over 60 images, I want to import the lot & minimise them all.60 individual mimimizes are a pain. Can I minimise them all ?
View 8 Replies View RelatedI am using Photoshop CS2 on Win XP machine and was wondering if there was a keystroke to minimizing all open windows or can that be set up in custom keystrokes.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI would like photoshop to show a file image for the thumbnail (instead the generic lines of type). I know in the pref box I can set the "Maximize File compatibility" to "Always" or Ask, and this will save a flattened version of the file as part of the document. But this greatly increased the file size. I did some checking on 10 layered files ranging from 14Mb to 45Mb. The new file size increased a whopping 35% to 88%. That's a heavy price to pay both on my system here, our back up / archive, CD / DVD burning, and our client systems. I'm in the process of putting together a browser based image library. To render a image thumbnail it shows the generic lines of type if layered (useless), and a image thumbnail only if "File compatibility" is set to Yes. ( Which greatly increases file size, and cost of storage space).
Â
Is there a way to get a image thumbnail without having to set Maximize File Compatibility to Yes? It would seem to me that photoshop should be able to create a small, low res flattened version, at a low quality setting, that would be on the kb in size for a thumbnail. And imbed that into the file, vs the bloated composite. I understand the reason for the composite for file compatibailty with previous versions etc. Just not for creating the thumbnail.
When I open, say, 10 images at once, I see (10) individual "restore down" windows atop each other;I then maximize top window & process; when I close top window:in my CS1, next window=image auto-maximizes window & sliders will appear if I zoom to 100%
Â
in my CS2, next window=image is still "restore down" & I have to click windows upper right "Maximize" icon
Â
Question: how to get CS2 "behaving" like CS1?
im working on a PC , with windows 7, with photoshop CS5 i searched everywhere for answer , but none was given.. people did mention this problem, but for different photoshop versions , and, i had it good till i dont know what happened and changed it, so i believe it is fixable but people understood it wrong.
Â
anyhow, the problem is, when you try to maximize the image window (assuming you changed it from tabs), the window maximize all over the screen, over the tools and title bar.
instead of staying inside the workspace.as i mentioned, it used to be like it , but something happened and now its all over the thing.i tried double click the hand tool, all sort of things with the "F" and Tab shortcuts, the arrange documents thing on the top, even trying to restore default setting but nothing really did the trick.
i tried to look for something called "Application frame", that somehow suppose to do just that, under window->Application frame, but its not there. again, it used to be ok so i know there is still hope..
Â
here it is restored, under "fit screen" option, notice it only get the hight right, i would not call it "fit screen" but what ever..
red circels show the title bar and tools..
and this is when i hit the maximize button and unleash hell, red circles are where the title bar and tools were, not so nice and cool..
i noticed none of the others gave pictures, so i gave it a go..there are no words to describe how annoying it is.
When I maximize an image in CS4 the image goes to full screen and covers the tool, task bars, and everything else. Is there a way to keep it from doing that? It did not do that on my CS2.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI don't really care for "tabs." I'm used to having open files placed randomly within PS.
So I uncheck this feature in preferences. BUT, this means when you hide/minimize PS, the open file remains visible. Is there no way to minimize open files at the same time as PS?
1. Where is the Maximize Compatibility option in CS6 to save to earlier versions?
2. Does this option still exist in CC? If so, how is it enabled?
Photoshop cs5.1. I don't like double click title bar to minimize the window. I don't use it, I don't need it. Isn't there a way to disable it!?
I'm unsing Snow Leopard, but I do have "double-click a windows title bar to minimize" disabled in system preferences > appearance. So photoshop overrides those settings? Maybe I'm missing something?
I just love GIMP.
But imagine the huge dismay felt when this dedicated user updated GIMP to 2.8.6 and found there was no maximise button any more! Is there anyway to get this button back??
I use it regularly as part of my work-flow, and now I find this once fantastic app pretty much rendered useless to me.
Not having the maximise button also doesn't allow me to see the bottom part of the program's window, so the bottom slider is useless to me.
Not having this pretty much puts my budding photography on-hold, as I resent having to pay an extortionate amount for Gimp's closest 'worthy' competition. That, and photosh*t doesn't play nice with Linux anyway.
Also, I don't have the ready cash to rush out and buy a larger monitor (for a laptop thats screen size works well for all other apps) just to use Gimp.
Using Ubuntu 13.10.
