Photoshop :: CS6 Always Crashes / When Lose Internet Connection
Apr 15, 2013
My Photoshop CS6 always crashes when I lose my Internet connection...why? This is really aggravating, particularly when I am traveling with my laptop and try to use Photoshop. As long as I have an Internet connection it is fine, but as soon as the Internet is no longer available the program stops working.
Seems to affect both x64 (my usual use) and x32. During the startup phase (before loading command libraries, etc), the program frequently crashes IF I am not hooked up to the internet. If I am hooked to the internet, it starts OK, and if, after starting, I disconnect from the internet all is OK as well. I presume it may be checking for updates at startup and running into trouble without an internet connection there, and there seems to be no way to turn auto-check feature this off.
Since I can usually hook up to the internet-- using an air card, if naught else-- this isn't a fatal problem for me, but it is an annoying glitch. I mostly want to somehow get this into the Corel system as a bug report.
regarding Photoshop CS3. Whenever I import a photo into Photoshop it locks up for about 20 seconds then the picture shows up. I opened up the task manager and it shows that during the 20 second lockup period my PC is sending data through the Internet. Once I disconnect from my network and try to import a photo it loads instantly. So my question is why is Photoshop transferring data whenever I import a photo? Is there anyway to disable whatever it is doing so it does not lock up?
I have had my second activation of Photoshop CS 5 on a backup computer that has no internet connection. I needed to change the operating system (Windows 7 Home to Windows 7 Professional). I called up Adobe, and told the technician that I was de-activating CS 5, reformatting the hard drive, then I was going to re-activate Photoshop. He gave me a case number so that the next technician could easily understand what I was doing and what I needed.
The first time I installed Photoshop on this backup computer, I contacted Customer Service. The technician had me do several things to get to an activation screen. I gave him both the serial number and an installation code. He then used them to generate a unique activation code, which I typed in to activate Photoshop. I had Photoshop on that computer, working, for a year.
I called on August 30, after the re-formatting and installing the new operating system, I called Customer Service to get re-activating Photoshop.
The first technician said I could not reactivate Photoshop. The second technician said it could be done, but not at his level and he would escalate the case, and someone would call me.After no calls, I tried again on 09/05. I was transferred to the manager. He said it could not be done, but he would escalate the case to the "expert team," and that someone from that team would call me "tomorrow" (09/06).
Along the way, one technician said I did not need to reactivate Photoshop because when I called about deactivating Photoshop, that technician assigned a special number that would obviate the need to reactivate. How did my computer, off-line, and my software, on a proprietary disk, know that number?
If I am offline for extended periods in location that don't have internet.what happens when I want to work on the photos that I've been busy shooting during that time? Will ACR and PS suddenly stop working becasue they are cloud based and need to check in with big brother to check my subs?
I have photoshop CS3 on an old computer. The computer’s keys have frozen and I cannot access any form of internet. I have tried to disable it so I can reactivate it on my current computer but internet access is required to fully deactivate. Can I write to Adobe with my serial number or some other way to deactivate as this computer is so near death and PS3 is the only thing of value left on the computer.
I am using Photoshop CC with Windows 7 64-bit and all plugins have issues detecting my internet connection. When trying to use them, an error message pops up saying "No internet connection detected." I am connected to the internet, am able to connect to Adobe servers, and am not using a firewall or connecting through a proxy server. I have checked my plugin settings in preferences to make sure plugins are allowed to use connections, and have tried editing the registry values in Windows to make sure that all Adobe products automatically connect to the internet, but still have had no luck. Plugins I am trying to use are Kuler and Subtle Patterns (a third party plugin).
Bought the box version of Elements 12. Received serial number. However, Elements does not recognize my internet connection and will not let me register. So after the trial period I can't use the program. Every other program on my computer that uses the Internet connects flawlessly.
I have recently re-installed Photoshop CS3 in my new Windows 7 (64-bit) computer and fell foul of the Bonjour Service problem that trashed my Internet connection by installing an "unknown network". I have remedied this by disablng the Bonjour Service in Windows Services Manager.
As I plan to upgrade to PS CS6 on this computer:
1. Does CS6 use Bonjour? 2. If it does, and I have to disable it for the reasons above, will I be able to register and activate CS6 online, and will I be able to get updates?
my major commands: (save, export, copy, etc.) are all frozen until I sign in, BUT when I attempt to sign in Corel error message pops up that I am not connected to the internet. I work at a large design firm and have full access to the internet, no firewall or anything and have no other problems connecting, so this is most likely a Corel issue and not my connection, I believe. Also, other people at my office have it installed and no problems.
I downloaded X6 patch #1 with no problem, but then I downloaded patch #3 and when I press Continue to install I get a notice: An Internet connection required. connect to the Internet and try again... But I AM connected to the Internet! I have no options how to proceed.
I started noticing that every time my PSCS5 goes through an update, it wipes out all my brushes... today it crashed and i went to restart it and again my brushes have disappeared.. this never happened before, but lately it has been doing this... i get all my brushes online and had no problems with it early on until couple of months ago when it went through couple of updates and the next day i came in - restart it and noticed that all my brushes have gone...
I have a custom world map for my fantasy series created in Photoshop CS5 (in 2D) that I want to turn into a globe. The image size is 14,400 x 7200 pixels. When I convert the image to a 3D shape, (New Shape From Layer -> Sphere) the resulting 3D image loses so much resolution, that when I view it at actual pixels, I can barely even read any of the text. Everything is extremely blurry. Is there a way to fix this or is it simply a process of converting the image from a 2D object to a 3D object?
When I open an image in Photoshop it looks blurry at any zoom including 100%.Same image looks fine in GIMP, Explorer, etc. Here's an example. The left side is what it looks like in Photoshop.

I've lost both of my Raid0 arrays on start-up today, and Win7 start-up repair has not fixed it, so I am looking at a System Restore. I'll probably have to go back to before I installed CS6 full release, and I am wondering if I am going to remove CS6 with the Restore without decativating it. My Program files are all on my SSD boot drive and OK, and I have full backup for the two raid0 arrays.
I save my image into jpg/gif or whatever, it tends to lose a bit of detail or rather "smoothness." The image looks very nice and smooth in PS, but whenever I save it to use on the web, It looses a bit of its smoothness. Is there some setting or technique to fix.
I'm starting to work with big format photos much more these days. I'm designing albums which will contain a few pics per spread. When designing the pages sometimes i need to CTRL+T (shrink or enlarge) the images. So the question is, do these images lose (print) quality with all the CTRL + T?
I have a scan of a pencil sketch as my background image. What I want to do is convert to colour image then, eventually, lose the pencil lines. For starters I would like to know how to flood fill an area with colour then get rid of the area's boundary line. I guess a valid solution might be along one of the following lines:
1. Flood fill, depositing the colour in one layer but using a boundary line in a different one.
2. Copy the sketch to another layer, fill the areas then somehow delete the lines.
3. Flood fill in one layer then copy the block of colour only, not the surrounding line, and paste into another layer. Any suggestions? As of a week ago I'd never used Photoshop so don't assume I know anything.
I have recently installed Photoshop CS3 on a newer PC which runs Windows 7 Home Premium, after the programme was locked on a PC running Vista which died on me and which I have just had repaired. However since installing the programme, every time I turn my PC off and then on again next morning, I have lost the internet.
I have been getting around the problem by running the HP network check and the automatic repair that it performs is to "reset the Realtek PCIe FE Family Controller Adapter". However this only works until the PC is turned off again and then I have to do the whole process again. Is there a way to fix this problem permanently? I was hoping there would be an update from Adobe that might sort the problem, but Adobe don't seem to be able to work with that as they say the programme is too old and don't have online support for this.
I have followed everything that is suggested by HP i.e. rebooting the modem and router.
If I reset the PC to before the programme was installed the problem goes away. When I reinstall the problem comes back. Its definitely to do with the Photoshop programme, but I don't understand why.
When I have copied something and go to paste the image in PhotoShop CS3, something causes my system to open a connection to the Internet for several seconds (maybe 15) before I can paste. I have checked my system for all sorts of virus issues, fearing key recording software, but I don't have anything like that. I've been told by our IT person (who checked my system) that there is something Adobe is doing. Is this true? Why does PhotoShop need to make this connection?
I am no closer to activating CS6.I do not have an internet connection on the machine I am installing it on. I have the disk. But, no way to activate it.
Spent an hour waiting for the adobe installer to download on this machine and it never gave a code - couldn't even find one.How do I activate CS6 - or did I waste the money and need to send the disk back and quit this stuff?
i have a mac computer and i am working on a cover for an undergound news magazine. i understand that there is some sort of trick to adding new fonts to the program (alledidly a code?)
I've been trying to do this for ages but i just cannot do it! I designed something in Photoshop and opened it in ImageReady to add links. I then clicked 'Save Optimized As...' and saved it under 'HTML and images'. I then found each of the images of my design in an image folder and the actual HTML of it outside the folder. When I open the HTML, the design opens up in internet explorer with the links working. But now I don't know how to actually place my design on my website. I have tried to use Macromedia Dreamweaver but when I copy the HTML code to my website, the design appears with small red crosses, not showing it.
how you add links to the buttons and such. I found slicing, and I assume this is how you add a link to one of the buttons in the template you made? Btw what is the standard size for a template? 800 x 600? Thanks guys, Im just trying to learn how to make some new things
