I have always used/modified my presets in the second location listed - so what is the bare-bones Presets folder for in Application Support? What is that needed?
This after an install of CS6. They do appear in the flyout menus, but every folder inside the preset folder are apparently empty. I open the install file and found all the preset files there but for some reason they didn't load. ???
I made some presets to effects, toolbar customization (including creating my own), create picture frame and so on. I would like to backup these information considering the case of reinstall PSP and recovery my settings.
a) which are the folders that stores presets, customization and my settings?
b) If I install PSP in other computer, could I just replace these folders in order to recovery my presets, customizations and settings?
c) Recently I reset (shift + F8) the PSP to its factory setting and I lost all these stuffs ! Were the customizations deleted or there is any way to recovery them?
When trying to print in Elements 11, after clicking "Print/Page Setup/Presets/Show Presets", the box freezes. Clicking Cancel or OK does not work. I then have to Force Quit Elements to clear it. Apple say that it is a problem with Elements. Using the same procedure in other applications, clicking Cancel or OK does work.
I am having trouble getting my presets to show up under presets on the left hand side of the screen. They are still in develop presets but there not showing up and Ive tried deleting them and adding them again then closing out of lightroom 4 and going back in but I can not seem to get them to show up again. I must have hit something but there not showing up again
I have recenty had to reinstall all my software, and manged to find most of my old Lightroom settings in the Lightroom Presets folder (inside the Appdata folder on a PC) but I seem to have lost my custom tone curves.
Do you know which folder they should be in (indise the Lightroom Presets folder)
I STILL don't understand why there are TWO comminty forums for Lightroom;
Is there a way to have the organizer folders set up the same was as Windows Explorer? I have a main folder called Family with sub folders for all the years and in each of the subfolders there could be other subfolders. It wouldn't allow me to click on main folder and get all sub folders. I had to open main folder and then it shows all folders and sub folders separately. They are no longer nested.
Along the same lines, I wanted to create an album of Family with all subfolders, but that doesn't work.that is definitely a short coming which is why I never have used the organizer program, but just PSE for editing.
I had two 2013 folders, each with about 100 daily folders. The dates were differnt in each annual folder. I dragged one into the other. The folder where the daily folder was dragged from is now empty but those folders do not appear in the recieving folder. All the photos are still in the catalog, but do not show in the folders (left side panel).
I renamed a lot of my photo folders in Explore. Now in LR4, all these folders appears with an ?. I can't work on pictures from these folders - I get the message: File named xxx is offline or missing. It does not sync the parent folder. Nor does it sync the folder it self. If I right clik on a LR4 folder with a ?, and try to locate the folder, I only get the option to merge the identical folders. Is there any way to sort this. I can't restore the old folder names.
I am using LR3. I appear to be digging a massive hole for myself trying to sort out the catalog. When I first got LR, I had initially added just a small number of files just to see how LR worked. At this time I was still completing sorting out my full photo collection in 'my pictures' which were also copied to two external hard drives. Once that work was completed, I imported a complete folder (some 4000 images) into LR. The folder/subfolders appeared in the folders panel but the sub folders I had initially imported were displayed with a ? and a message 'file is missing or offline' Going down the road of 'find missing folder' eventually led to my problems.
About 6 sub folders are involved so I eventually took the decision that it could be easier just to remove them so I could then re-import them from 'my pictures'. That hasn't worked out as planned. When I go into 'file' to import photos from 'my pictures' the missing sub folders are there but the images are 'greyed' as well as the import button. When I put the cursor onto one of the greyed-out images the message 'appears to be a duplicate of another photo already in catalog' appears.
how I can restore the 'missing' sub folders into the folders panel.
I lost my PDF Presets (CS6) so when I try to save to a PDF format, the std presets are not there. How do I reload them? I previously created a custom preset when building a book for Create Space and that is the only preset there - & I have not used this since.
I'm setting up a brand new iMac with CS5.5. I had just gotten vaguely familiar with CS5 on my laptop, and I was hoping to simply copy and paste my Keyboard Shortcuts, Preferences, and Workspace files into the same folders on the new computer. Alas, the file setups are somewhat different.
What I can't figure out is WHERE these programs actually save these types of Presets to. They seem to be able to access my "old" files from if I drop them into certain folders through the Applications menu (see list below) but when I try to save a new Workspace or Keyboard Shortcut list, these files seem to disappear into a magical hidden folder that I cannot find.
To reiterate - below are the only locations for shortcuts/workspaces/preferences that I can find (via the Applications folder) and while the programs will read my presets from them, but they are not saving new presets to these locations:
Keyboard Shortcuts
PS - will read from, but not save to, Applications/Adobe Photoshop CS5.5/Locales/en_US/Support Files/Shortcuts/Mac
AI - will also read from, but not save to, Applications/Adobe Photoshop CS5.5/Locales/en_US/Support Files/Shortcuts/Mac
ID - will also read from, but not save to, Applications/Adobe Photoshop CS5.5/Locales/en_US/Support Files/Shortcuts/Mac
Workspaces
PS - will read from, but not save to, Applications/Adobe Photoshop CS5.5/Locales/en_US/Additional Presets/Mac/Workspaces
AI - will read from, but not save to, Applications/Adobe Illustrator CS5.5/Presets/en_US/Workspaces
ID - will also read from, but not save to, Applications/Adobe InDesign CS5.5/Presets/InDesign Workspaces/en_US
None of my CS2 presets will load in CS3. I would like to use CS3 with its new features but I would have to make all new brushes and actions, and I have thousands of each. Is there any way to get CS3 to load them?
Edit: Just a note, they don't even show up in the load dialog. Neither do a few folders (Such as ones under "C:Program FilesAdobe" where the only one that appears to be in there is "Adobe Photoshop CS3" when there is in fact about 10 other folders)
I created some gradients that I now want to delete. They show up at the very bottom of my photoshop gradients dropdown menu separated from the other presets by a line. I have tried to find those files to delete them and I cannot get to them from my Finder window. I can access the preset folder from Application--CS5.1--presets but the other folder where Photoshop saved these gradients is nowhere to be found.
I am still using CS4 Mac and trying to organize all my "Presets" (Brushes, Swatches, Gradients etc) is driving me crazy - I am wondering if it is any better in CS6?
Other than that, CS4 is fine for my needs, so, is there a 3rd party add on, plug in or app that will do the job of organizing my presets on Mac?
sketching with pshop but I seem to have a problem with my brushes. I am using my tablet and set the brush to use the pen pressure. Works great until I switch to another brush size. Then when I go back to the original brush the preset is back to the original. Is this normal in 7? I seem to remember 6 kept the presets. Maybe I just didn't notice this little lack in the feature?
I was messing around with the gradient tool today--trying to make it more gradual gradient & somehow I changed it to something to do with a rainbow---& can not change it back--when it's on the "rainbow" I can do really neat things with it that I could never do before--but I really need it to go back to the normal gradient tool---does anyone know what I did & how to get it back? Also, how do I make the gradient tool give me a more gradual blend.
I've just upgraded from CS2 to CS4 and uninstalled CS2 already only to find that my brushes, patterns and styles (all very important to be able to continue working) are in a new format called .asl and these are in .psp format.
i got photoshop cs for quite some time now i just bought a new computer and i want to transfer all my page presets i saves on the first computer to the new one. i haven't found any files that contain this info.
I want to save presets for brightness/contrast and the smart sharpen filter. I need to edit over thousands of images but I am tired of having to set the same presets manually for each image.
Basically, its just the brightness/contrast and the smart sharpen filter that I use to edit the images. You can save presets for other filters but I couldn't find a way to save the presets for these filters.
I am upgrading from Windows XP to Windows 7. When I upgraded from CS5 to CS6 on my present computer, I said yes to preserving the old presets. But how will this work on a new computer? And, in fact, all of my versions of Photoshop going back I can't recall how far have been upgrades. How is this handled with a new computer? I have the CS3, CS5 and CS6 installation disks. I am not sure about the older versions. So, two questions here: 1. How is the CS6 installation handled if all I've had for the past who-knows-how-long is upgrades. I started with one of the very first Photoshops. And 2.
I've never asked about this but I've succeeded in doing this many times over the years. I have this habit of flying through my keystrokes and sometimes hit a key or a series of keys causing the entire Tool bar and Window presets to disappear.
Until now, I've reset each window to show my actions, history, etc. and re click on Tools in the Window scroll to have them show up again. The question is two-pronged: What am I accidentally hitting on my keyboard to make all these disappear at once and is there a keystroke I can use to bring them all up again?
I have been printing successfully on sheet paper with my Epson 4880 and when I tried to switch over to roll paper I consistently get error messages regarding paper settings. The printer indicator shows roll paper.
