Lightroom :: 4 - User Presets Keep Disappearing
Apr 10, 2013For the 4th time this year I have started up LR4 only to find that all my User Presets have disappeared - why is this happening. All my photos are still there but I have no User presets for Develop nor print and no Metadata presets. I haven't changed any settings.

May 8, 2013When trying to print in Elements 11, after clicking "Print/Page Setup/Presets/Show Presets", the box freezes. Clicking Cancel or OK does not work. I then have to Force Quit Elements to clear it. Apple say that it is a problem with Elements. Using the same procedure in other applications, clicking Cancel or OK does work.

May 20, 2013I am having trouble getting my presets to show up under presets on the left hand side of the screen. They are still in develop presets but there not showing up and Ive tried deleting them and adding them again then closing out of lightroom 4 and going back in but I can not seem to get them to show up again. I must have hit something but there not showing up again

Nov 17, 2012I have recenty had to reinstall all my software, and manged to find most of my old Lightroom settings in the Lightroom Presets folder (inside the Appdata folder on a PC) but I seem to have lost my custom tone curves.

Sep 13, 2004My plug-ins are disappearing...Just gone. I can't find them anywhere. Artistic - gone. Textures - gone. Not sure what's going on here... Is there any way to restore the factory default plug-ins w/o reinstalling PS altogether?

Apr 20, 2012I'm setting up a brand new iMac with CS5.5. I had just gotten vaguely familiar with CS5 on my laptop, and I was hoping to simply copy and paste my Keyboard Shortcuts, Preferences, and Workspace files into the same folders on the new computer. Alas, the file setups are somewhat different.
What I can't figure out is WHERE these programs actually save these types of Presets to. They seem to be able to access my "old" files from if I drop them into certain folders through the Applications menu (see list below) but when I try to save a new Workspace or Keyboard Shortcut list, these files seem to disappear into a magical hidden folder that I cannot find.
To reiterate - below are the only locations for shortcuts/workspaces/preferences that I can find (via the Applications folder) and while the programs will read my presets from them, but they are not saving new presets to these locations:
Keyboard Shortcuts
PS - will read from, but not save to, Applications/Adobe Photoshop CS5.5/Locales/en_US/Support Files/Shortcuts/Mac
AI - will also read from, but not save to, Applications/Adobe Photoshop CS5.5/Locales/en_US/Support Files/Shortcuts/Mac

Photoshop :: CS2 Presets In CS3
Dec 15, 2007None of my CS2 presets will load in CS3. I would like to use CS3 with its new features but I would have to make all new brushes and actions, and I have thousands of each. Is there any way to get CS3 to load them?
Edit: Just a note, they don't even show up in the load dialog. Neither do a few folders (Such as ones under "C:Program FilesAdobe" where the only one that appears to be in there is "Adobe Photoshop CS3" when there is in fact about 10 other folders)
Photoshop :: PSD Files Disappearing In CS4?
Jan 28, 2012I've been working with psd files in CS4 and after saving once, everything seems normal. After working on a file more and trying to save, I get a message that it can't be saved because the file name is not valid. If I close the file without saving and try to reopen, it says I don't have permission to open the file. I've tried doing a SaveAs under a different name with same results. Even worse is that the files I thought I had saved previously simply disappear from the folder they were in if I do the SaveAs step under a similar, but different name (like adding -1 to the name.) They don't appear anywhere on the computer that I can find. I'm running an up-to-date Windows 7, 64-bit. CS4 also is a current 64-bit.

Jun 25, 2008I thought it was just the comp setup of some of my buddies, but I'm getting the same thing occasionally. It's kinda hard to repeat, but it Is repeatable.
It's simple. just open a decent sized file, mine right now is 5000x5000, select the brush tool and press the bracket key rapidly to change the size of the brush.
It might take a few times for it to actually disappear, but the mouse eventually should disappear anytime it's over the photoshop window. It shows up over tools and the file menu, but that's it. You can still paint, but it's Really hard to do when you can't see where the stroke is going to begin.
If it makes a diff...Photoshop has the file open and is taking 400MB of mem. Doesn't even seem high. Usually when this happens it's on a file with Way more layers and is taking something closer to 2GB of memory.

Nov 4, 2003when you go to "Features" you should see a big Mondera banner at the bottom of the page but for some reason it does not show up:
As you can see the image clearly shows up on my computer.
I just deleted the old site online and uploaded the local site again
just in case.
I also deleted the IE cache just in case. Still can't see the Mondera banner.

Sep 14, 2007I'll put them in the presets>>brushes folder, but when i go into Photoshop, they're not there. BUT! When I go to add a new brush through Photoshop, the file is there and I can click on it and it will load under whatever brushes I was using. They're just not showing up.
Is there some limit I dont know about?
Also, my blendings not working when i try to blend layers with a gradient. Say i were to put to pictures on a new file. I'd do a layer blend so the line inbetween them isn't so harsh. But instead of doing that, it just does the actual gradient (the colours are black and white).
Photoshop :: Disappearing Palettes
Jul 8, 2008whenever I'm doing certain things in CS2 now all of my palettes are temporarily disappearing. I can bring them back by clicking anywhere in the blank workspace, but I'm not sure what's caused this. As the most simple example, I can reset all palettes to their default positions and reset to the default workspace. I then open an image, go to levels adjustment, cancel whatever change I might make, and all of the palettes disappear. Also, all of my palettes are floating within the main CS2 window. That is, if I want to move the whole PS2 window around my monitor, I'm having to deal with each palette and main menu separately. I'll bet all of this is a simple thing to reset, but I haven't found what's going on yet.

Apr 18, 2013I created some gradients that I now want to delete. They show up at the very bottom of my photoshop gradients dropdown menu separated from the other presets by a line. I have tried to find those files to delete them and I cannot get to them from my Finder window. I can access the preset folder from Application--CS5.1--presets but the other folder where Photoshop saved these gradients is nowhere to be found.Â

(the only other folder in that location is one named "AutoRecover")

I have always used/modified my presets in the second location listed - so what is the bare-bones Presets folder for in Application Support? What is that needed?
Photoshop :: Brush Presets
Nov 29, 2003sketching with pshop but I seem to have a problem with my brushes. I am using my tablet and set the brush to use the pen pressure. Works great until I switch to another brush size. Then when I go back to the original brush the preset is back to the original. Is this normal in 7? I seem to remember 6 kept the presets. Maybe I just didn't notice this little lack in the feature?

Mar 4, 2013I'm trying to make a simple 3D extrusion of the text in a logo (Yep, freshly made text layer, so no it's not text within a png image or anything! I may be a noob, but I'm not flat out stupid! ). I know how to do it and all that stuff but occasionally when I come to do this in PS, the option just no longer seems to be available! I'm using the Extended version as provided via the Creative Cloud and I HAVE successfully made 3D extrusions in the past (made a 3D logo last night actually), and I've been through preferences etc. so it's not as if suddenly PS has opted not to use my graphics card or anything silly like that.

In this particular case, I made my text, went to make a 3D extrusion, then realised I needed to rotate the text a little, so backed out and did my rotation - when I went back to the 3D menu, NOPE, not an option.

Have I still got the 3D grid and pop-up running somewhere but just haven't clicked back to it?why I can no longer select it as an option? how to get the option for 3D extrusions back?
Photoshop :: CS6 - Image Disappearing When Trying To Open
Sep 21, 2012I am running a windows Vista 32Bit software. I just decide to finally use my cs6Â photoshop and when i try to open an image in photoshop the board remains blank but the layer panel says there is an image and shows a preview of the image like it normally does in the layer panel. Everything else works fine but the image won't show at all.
