Photoshop :: CS6 - Merge To HDR Pro Fails To Complete
Jun 18, 2012
I'm running Win 7, 32-bit and just picked up LR 4.1 and CS6. I've updated everything to the latest versions. I'm shooting with a Nikon D800.
Â
I'm trying to merge 7 pictures using Merge to HDR Pro. I've tried this using raw files (NEF) and converted JPG files. I select the 7 files, PS comes up with the first picture showing. It starts to process the second picture and the filename changes to something like Untitled_HDR1. After a few seconds, that picture goes away and nothing else happens.
Here is my System Info:
Â

When in Bridge, after selecting 6 images (CR2) using the command TOOLS>LOAD FILES INTO PHOTOSHOP LAYERS the first file will load into Photoshop, Photoshop will then generate a second blank layer and then read the second file. At this point the "script" will stop. I am left with a document with 2 layers. The top layer has my first image, the bottom layer is empty.   At this point when I quit Photoshop I am prompted to save this open document which appears to be the only open document. I choose not to save this as a file. I then get a dialogue box prompting to save another open document. Photoshop has loaded the second file to place as a layer but as the "script" has aborted I am left with an open, but invisible file.  When I first loaded CS6 on Snow Leopard, it would demonstrate this behaviour every time I attempted to run this command from Bridge.I did a clean install on a blank HDD of OSX Lion. Installed CS6. The command worked without fail for about a month.  Then I would get the command aborting occasionally. Restarting Photoshop would let me continue for a few hours before this aborted script problem would happen again. Over the last week it has become more frequent, to a point where this workflow is unusable.  A restart of Photoshop may fix the problem for the next batch of images, only to fail again soon after, or fail on the first attempt after a relaunch of Photoshop. A reboot of my computer will allow my to load one or two sets of files before again failing to complete the command.   I have tried the following:   In Photoshop preferences:
disabling the "Use graphics Processor"
Increasing or decreasing the amount of RAM available to Photoshop
Changing the cache levels or changing the cache tile size
changing the scratch disk
Trashing the Photoshop preferences file (Photoshop Settings.psp)   In Bridge   Purging the cache
Increasing or decreasing the cache size
Resetting Bridge preferences (holding Command on launch) and deleting all cache files.   In general system  Quitting extra programs (Safari, Thunderbird, iTunes)
Sometimes this will seem to then allow Photoshop to load a full set of images, only to abort again after a few sets.
Rebooting the computer - again will work for a few images sets before again failing. Â Â Now the fact that it worked fine for several weeks without presenting a problem would indicate that it is not a bug.The fact that is slowly started happening then became more frequent would indicate something changing slowly over time - a larger cache folder perhaps, although purging known Bridge cache folders has not filed the problem.
System is as follows: Â Â Mac Pro 2 x 2.66 Quad Core 24GB RAM ATI Radeon HD 4870 512 OSX Lion 10.7.4
Whereas I'm able to get the desktop version of the Color Checker profile maker to work fine, the X-Rite Lightroom plugin consistently fails to complete a profiling operation--quitting with the message that it "is unable to locate the color checker crop marks" in my image. In one such "failed" image, the (in focus) color checker occupies about 75% of the frame! I'm using LR 3.6, Mac OS X 6.8. Latest versions of the X-Rite software. Is this a common problem (making the plugin pretty useless)?
One of the purposes I want to use GIMP for are in scaling the dimensions of objects like musical instruments or sculpture, to create a construction plan. If I have an undistorted photo of, say, a guitar, and I know at least one dimension in the photo, I can SHOW and CONFIGURE GRID to get a "1 square = 1 inch" reference and extrapolate the remainder of the dimensions.
What I need to be able to do is include the grid in a saved/rendered photo file, which GIMP doesn't seem to want to do. The grid appears to be virtual, and disappears when layers are flattened out and the image is exported.
Is there a way to do this, or do I need to generate a standalone grid as a transparent layer and include that in my merge? If so, how do I go about generating a grid layer without having to hand-draw one?
Why cant I save a cdr job with all the merge fields setup so that next time I open the file I can go straight to 'merge to new document'.
So Ive set up a 10 to view raffle tickets job. Inserted 20 numerical merge fields, positioned, resized, applied font size color alignment etc etc etc.. Takes ages..... So then merge to a new document, works nice and I can save it fine.Â
There are a hundred reasons why i may have to close the 'master' merge file before the job has been successfully printed. It may be a repeat print job.
Any which way I really dont get why the live merge data fields are lost on closing the file.
For what I need Photoshop for, I use CMD-E all the time to create raster graphics from vector shapes. I often use this feature to combine shape layers to create buttons. So, this completely destroys my work flow. The only work around I've found is to create an additional raster layer to merge with the vector layers.Â
I have tried installing adobe photoshop cs4 and It successfully installed, BUT after I successfully typed the seiral number I was in he stage where I had to accept a licence and when I tried to do this it just stopped and do nothing. I have tried it a many times without any satisfactional results...I can uninstall any adobe application through add or remove programs and creative suite uninstaller. Â There are like 30 adobe applications on add or remove program list and I cannot remove any...
following adobe applications are:
Anchor Service CS4 Adobe bridge CS4 Adobe Cmaps cs4 adobe color - photoshop specific cs4 adobe color eu extra settings adobe color ja extra settings adobe color na recommended settings cs4 adobe color video profiles
I have many of the KPT plugins and was working with them until recently when they all stopped working. Did Adobe come out with an update that rendered them useless? I get the error message "Could not complete the KPT FraxFlame II because the program could not be found." This message appears on all the KPT filters.  I was using the 32 bit version of Photoshop on a Win7-64 machine.
I'm trying to download the trial version of Photoshop cc. When the 50% mark is reached when downloading, a window requests that I close bridge...bridge isn't open. How do I complete download?
I am running CS3 and for some reason, I get this error on many of the filter options. To reproduce: - load any picture - it does not matter what format I use- create a new layer by selecting the new layer icon at the bottom of the layers pallet-
with the new layer selected, going to the menu item filter/blur/Gaussian Blur I have reset the preferences by pressing ctrl/alt/shift while bringing up Photoshop. I also have reinstalled (repaired) Photoshop. I've tried many different pictures with several formats (raw, .psd, .jpg) with no luck. Interestingly enough, the filter Lens Blur does come up with the screen.
I was sent a .psd-file (actually 3) which were created in Photoshop CS3 but I can not open any of them, because PS tell me "Could not complete your request because it is not a valid Photoshop document."
Also, I was sent a lot of .psd-files during the last years and I have most of them in my email-account. Unfortunately, I can't even open any of them either!! And these were .psd-files PRE CS3 and worked just fine in CS2 ...
I tried everything: - Drag & Drop from Windows Explorer into Photoshop - "Open as" >> Nothing seems to work...
I use Photoshop CS4 now and I have a problem when I want to import (by dragging'n dropping, importing, open - I tried every way)a .png or i.e. also an .jpg:
when I worked a short time with PS (i.e. 10 minutes) and want to open a .png then, there comes the popup-window with: "Could not complete your request because the file-format module cannot parse the file"
The funny thing is: my file is NOT broken!! Because if I then shutdown PS and open it again, there is no longer a problem to open the .png-file.... after a while of course it comes back...
I am using Photoshop CS3 on Windows XP Pro (Upgraded from PS v7.0 a few months ago) on about 10% of my images I'm getting an the error: "could not complete your request because of a program error"
when trying to save the file after doing changes to it. Oddly enough I do NOT get the error when doing "Save As" even after the recieving the error on a save. Nor do I get the error if I open one of the affected files in PS v7.
I believe from searching on line that the problem is "something to do" with the format of the metadata in the images. I am not sure exactly what, nor am I sure why it only affects about 10% of my images - all of which have been processed, captioned and keyworded the same way. However it is noticable that I cannot open "File info" dialog box in PS CS3 for any image that won't save. The error given is: "Could not complete the File Info command because of a problem with the File Info module".
Using CS6 Photoshop extended on iMac early 2008 model.....  Processor 2.8 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo Memory 4 GB 800 MHz DDR2 SDRAM Graphics ATI Radeon HD 2600 Pro 256 MB Software Mac OS X Lion 10.7.4 (11E53)  I get this message when I try to open a .mov file...  "Could not complete your request because DynamicLink is not available?"
A customer of mine has a problem when he tries to open a pdf document in photoshop. This document is only 50MB large, but Photoshop displays the message "could not complete your request, not enough memory (ram)" when he tries to open this.
It is a windows 7 x64 system with 6GB of RAM. When the file is being opened, in process explorer you can see that photoshop is using more and more RAM untill it reaches the point of just above 2GB. Then photoshop displays this message. The system still has 30% free RAM memory left, but adobe won't use this memory.
I spent about 45 minutes with tech support to no avail. It has been confirmed through tech support that my MacBook Air does meet all system requirements for PS CC and to use the 3d features. However, I can't. I get a few error messages. One is "Could not complete the new 3d extrusion because there is not enough memory (RAM) - but they (Adobe support) confirmed there is enough memory. Another error message I get is "your startup disk is full". Basically a lot of the 3d features are not available. I've searched the forum and didn't see anything. After 45 minutes with tech support they said this is a "common" problem with MacBook Air users and Mac Pro users.Â
I have recently upgraded from CS4 to CS6. After editing a jpeg, I try the Save As command and recieve this message...."could not complete the Save As command because there is not enough memory RAM" I also notice that all my images are at 72 dpi, is this going to affect image quality? I shoot in the largest file possible when taking the photographs.Â
I am trying to open a video to edit in CS6 and I get this error: Could not complete your request because DynamicLink is not available..I read on one of these forums that I should uninstall and reinstall the program. Â I tried to uninstall the program and it told me to use the Adobe Application Manager.Adobe Application Manager failed and it told me to download the Adobe Support Advisor. Â Adobe Support Advisor told me that there was an issue:" cpsid_82829s1: "A restart is pending," bootstrapper error has occurred. " Token Number: 40-87772-063201122012...I followed the instructions it gave me to correct this issue: Â If you receive the error "Installer has detected that a machine restart is pending. It is recommended that you quit the installer, restart try again," do the following: #Restart the computer and try the installation again.Â
"Cannot complete the reduce noise command in cs2 due to program error." Have uninstalled and reinstalled photoshop but same message appears when I click filter>noise>reduce noise. Same thing happens in filter>sharpen>smart sharpen. These 2 filters used to be working.
I'm using Windows XP and PhotoShop 8.0. I've been working on a drawing all day, and I've opened it up numerous times over the last few days. I've edited it in Paint Shop Pro as well, and haven't had any trouble with it until now. Out of nowhere I got that 'file not compatible' error and I have no idea what to do. I've tried opening it in GIMP (won't open), PSP (won't open), and ImageReady.. which opens it, but all the layers except the bottom one are blank, and the bottom one's colors are wrong and it only seems to show the top half of the image.
Is there any other way I could open and save this picture? I don't have any more programs that might be able to open it, but if someone else could or something, I'd greatly appreciate it. Thank you.
how to save a history in photoshop so that once you close it, you can reopen it and still have the history...for say using the history brush? I know how to make an external log,
Photoshop 11.0 on Mac OS X 10.7.3 Â After reinstalling Photoshop on my new iMac I'm unable to run the 11.0.2 upgrade installer. It tells me that 11.0.2 is "already installed".The "About" box in Photoshop shows the version as 11.0.
My old computer had meltdown, smoke and all so i have bult a a new one but PS 4 Extended wont install correctly on Win 7 64 bit. it will get about 75% on the progress bar and then says it failed and do I want to continue. My install is a download version. I dont see it on my Adobe account anymore to download a new copy.  the compute is a Intel i5, 10 G of ram that I have been running Premiere Pro CS4 on with no problem.
I'm trying to install Photoshop CS6 trial on a Alienware MX17 Windows 7 64bit laptop, and it fails everytime. My videoo drivers are the latest it's possible to get, I also have all the latest windows updates installed. It goes through to the "Currently Installing Adobe Fonts Recommended x64" and hangs there.
It does not quit, the minutes remaining just keeps getting longer and longer. I left it running overnight once just in case is was very slow for some reason, the next morning when I checked it, it was in the same place, same percentage and the time remaining was several weeks. I've tried using the Installer, I've manually downloaded it. Neither work. I've tried with and without Administer rights.
The Adobe Support Assistant does give me the "The computer wants to reboot" error a few times, but there was never a "inprogress" entry in the registry as suggested by[URL]...Here is a link to my latest log file. This is a brand new laptop, the only Adobe products installed are acrobat and reader.p[URL]...
Using Vista 64-bit, installed PS CS4 the other day. I have been using the 64 bit version fine with no problems. However, I downloaded a plugin that only works in the 32-bit version, so I tried to launch the 32-bit version from the start menu, and the splash screen comes up for a few seconds, then an error message saying "Adobe Photoshop CS4 has stopped working". The splash screen is stuck on "Building TWAIN menu items..." This also happens when I try to start the program from the photoshop.exe in Program Files (x86) folder.
I installed LR 2.3RC a day or two ago and life seemed fine until I installed two plugins for CS4: Nik Sharpener and OnOne PhotoFrame 4.0
Now when I attempt to open images from LR, CS4 opens up but the image never appears and LR pops up an error message saying "The image could not be edited because Adobe Photoshop CS4 failed to launch"
It gets halted when initializing palettes... I get the error: "Faulting application photoshop.exe, version 10.0.1.0, faulting module adobeowl.dll, version 1.0.92.0, fault address 0x00069b7d." the computer lab has other computers with the same hardware configuration . On those computers Photoshop works smoothly I am using Win XP sp2.
