Photoshop :: CS5 (under Windows 7) Crashes When Try To Print?
Feb 17, 2012
I am running 64-bit Photoshop CS5 Extended upgraded to current version (12.0.4).
Â
When I try to print, every single time, I get the following error immediately:
Â
> Adobe Photoshop CS5 has stopped working
Windows is checking for a solution to the problem
Â
and then shortly after
Â
> Adobe Photoshop CS5 has stopped working
A problem caused the program to stop working correctly.
Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available.
Â
Quite infuriating. My printer works fine. I can print photos to it from Lightroom no problem (which, in this occasion, I had to do - saved from PS, imported to LR, then printed... very efficient!!).
Â
I note there are other posts on this but they seem to be mostly Mac and also many seem to cure by upgrading to 12.0.4.
Â
I am a relatively light user (keen amateur not professional) so I don't use PS regularly. However this also means it is pretty much an out-of-the-box install since I don't tinker with it either. It's so long since I last used it I can't remember if I had this problem last time - I vaguely recall having had it sometimes but not others. Doesn't seem to matter whether the file I opened is a JPG or a PSD (the only two I have tried).

I am having trouble printing to an HPÂ Designjet T770 from AutoCad LT 2012, on a Windows 7 computer.
I am using the HPGL/2 driver. I can print a test page, and I can print from other programs.
When I try to print, it looks like it is sending it normally, but the printer just ignores it.
I am able to print to this printer from AutoCad 2010 on a Vista computer.

I'm having an issue with Autocad LT 2010 where when I xref in my title block which has our company logo in color, the logo will only print in black and white. If i open just the title block and print it, it will then print in color. I only seem to have this problem when the title block is xref'd in. I downloaded the 2012 demo version of AutoCadLT and it prints just fine? This has just started happening when my computer was upgraded to Windows 7 64 bit.

I just got a brand new Dell XPS8500 with Windows 8 2 days ago and installed CS6, and I'm having problems with Photoshop crashing, Indesign has also crashed a few times.
Photoshop seems to be working for a few minutes and then crashes, and just says that it has encountered a problem and needs to close, no further explanation. It looks like my Windows is up to date, but when I try to download Adobe updates it says "The update server is not responding. The server might be offline temporarily or the internet or firewall settings may be incorrect". I didn't think there would be updates, I only installed 2 days ago.

Recently installed and then updated Photoshop CS6 Extended - "About" says Version 13.0.1 x32.
Â
Sometimes Photoshop comes up and I can use it, but then I get a Windows XP error"bark," with no error message or error dialog. Once that happens I can no longer open or edit or save images. Other times it will not completely start up.
Â
The "universal" Microsoft Windows "fix," a re-boot of the computer makes the problem go away, until it happens again. I have made sure that there are no errors in the registry with Norton Utilities. Windows XP is up to date.
Â
Is there an error log someplace that Photoshop issues? All other apps on the computer seem to work fine.

Intermittently save for web and other function (usually related to saving) crash. I'm running a brand new Win7 64bit box with latest version of CC - Photoshop CC 14. It's crash list thing since I first got Photoshop - so it's not something new, it's been doing this since I have installed the software. I have no 3rd party plugins installed and Photoshop doesn't give me a crash report when it does crash.

This has happened since I installed the program last year. Photoshop crashes no matter what kind of image file I try to print. I use a MacBook Pro and an Epson Stylus Photo R200 printer. I have checked for driver updates and there are none. The printer works fine with other programs. I tried following the directions to run Photoshop in 32 bit mode but the option does not come up in my menu.

We just upgraded our user to CS 5.5 from CS 4. He still has CS4 installed. When we go to print the item he's working on via "Print" the program crashes. When we click "Print options" that crashes. Alternatively when we print via "Print one page" that works. I have removed and added the printer since we did the install and his version of software is fully up to date. Here's the error log.

I went to print from Photoshop CS5, and once I decided my settings and hit "Print" the program crashed and has done so consistently. I've provided the crash report below.

Starting a few weeks ago Photoshop CS6 crashes every time when selecting the print command with the error : "Adobe Photoshop CS6 has stopped working" This happens using different printers and when printing anything, including a blank page. Printing works fine from other applications.
Running Photoshop CS6 v.13.1.2 x32 on Windows 7 Professional 64bit
This is a Dell Optiplex 990, I7 3.4GHz, 4GB RAM, 250GB HDD system, AMD ATI RADEON HD 6350 PCIe Video Card on a 16x bus

1) Photoshop has been updated
2) OS has been updated
3) Video drivers have been updated with new ones from the manufacturer
4) I tried new drivers for our Kyocera TaskAlfa 3550ci

I recently upgraded my laptop to one with Windows 8 (not because of Windows). The File Manager program does not work on my laptop, so I've had to install a third party file management app. Does Lightroom integrate with the Windows app because whenever I try to manage files in Lightroom (plug-in manager, publishing services, import destination) the program crashes. I can't install any plug-in's or add any new folders to my export settings.Â

I have a new (cheap) Lenovo Notebook that came preconfigured with Windows 8.
With some effort, I have configured it to have an administrator account and a normal user account.
Today I downloaded the latest GIMP and installed it on the administrator account. The program starts fine (albeit painfully slowly) and seems to run normally on the administrator account. However, in the normal user account, Gimp gets part way through loading and crashes as shown in this image:
what the error message: "The application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an usual way" might mean?

Running AutoCAD 2013 on Windows 7 64-bit OS Dell desktop.Whenever I plot 1 in 4 of the times, AutoCAD freezes, usually crashing. Happens both when either typing the command or using pulldown option.Freezes before I get a chance to choose which printer/plotter but plotting with HP Designjet T1120.
I am assuming downloading the HP Universal driver wouldn't do me any good. I am not crashing after I send anything to plot, but before, immediately after the 'Plot' window comes up, it freezes.

I have a single user of AutoCAD LT 2013 SP2 on a Windows 8 machine. It worked flawlessly for a few months and then suddenly started crashing a lot, especially when accessing the FILE menu.
We get a lot of these:The program acadlt.exe version 25.0.55.0 stopped interacting with Windows and was closed. To see if more information about the problem is available, check the problem history in the Action Center control panel.

I put him in Windows 7 compatability mode and the rest of the day yesterday was good. Today, he sent me this error:

The only changes since these started was a new wireless mouse (Microsoft) and loading Adobe Acrobat Standard (latest version) on the machine. We did both of those a few weeks ago and the problems have started after that.

I have been working on this for a while and cannot get what I want as printer output. I have a Pantone Eye-One Match3 terminal calibrator and I am set to luminosity of 120, Gamma of 32 and WP of 6500. My monitor is a Dell 2408WFP,24 inch. My printer is a HP Photosmart 8750. When I bring up a photo in Photoshop is looks great. I take my shots in raw, but my workspace is set up for RGB. If I open the same photo up in Nikon Capture 4, it looks the same as Photoshop. The problem is Windows and printing. If I look at the picture in Windows picture and fax viewer, it is too saturated. I get the same result when printing on the HP printer, even though I manage the print with Photoshop and use an HP printer profile for the paper that I am using.
Any thoughts as to why the mismatch between Windows/printer and Photoshop/Nikon Capture?

I've had a couple occurrences of X6 crashing suddenly, but a common one is when I've switched away from X6 and then try to switch back by clicking on the X6 icon on the Windows 7 taskbar.  I'm running Win7 64bit.  When I hover my mouse over the CDX6 icon on the taskbar, a couple of the preview mini-windows will show the Windows "working" round rotating icon for about a half second and then BAM - the windows "This Program is Not Responding" window comes up where you choose to either let windows find a solution (it never does), or just close the program.
I never have any trouble opening the program back up, or working with the exact same files that were open when it crashed. Â It does seem to happen when I have multiple files open, but I almost always am working with 3-4 at a time.
