Illustrator :: Numbers Added To Exported Files In CS6?
Feb 8, 2013Is there any way to prevent Illustrator from adding numbers to the end of exported files? It's really annoying because I end up with a bunch of extra files and only need the single exported version that I overwrite when making changes to the AI file. It's also annoying when I have an exported file linked in a Premiere or Indesign file. I was last using CS3 wich didn't have this 'feature.'

Mar 1, 2013The attached picture is me trying to balloon a part. I would like to just add some notes to the balloon so that I can update them manually but all I can find is to have a symbol. So I created a symbol, the insertion point for the symbol is shown. For some reason I get an extra number and the symbol offcenter. Why is this happening? What I'm really looking for is a balloon that is fully customizable so that I can just add text to the top and bottom and fill out the details.

Mar 9, 2012The problem I've been noticing for a while now has been especially in OSX, now also on windows 7 is that whenever I have a PSD file open and go SAVE AS as a JPG alot of times I tend to do a batch from a single psd with different version.. ( name01.jpg name02.jpg name03.jpg etc.)
What I came across is that sometimes I tend to forget to select JPEG from the drop down menu (because the window always displays Photoshop File as default).
What happens is that Photoshop File is in the drop down menu and I name my file Name01.jpg it saves it as a Photoshop File with a .jpg extension. which confuses everyone that tries to open that file because they cant and its huge..
I remember on windows XP when this happened photoshop was kind enough to name my file Name01.jpg.psd which made the file stand out and approprietly named.
Aside from the whole .PSD .JPG issue with this not adding the appropriate extension automatically, this also causes problems when I name a file Name01 photoshop leaves it at that and does not add any extention to it so it becomes an orphan file on foreign computers.. It doesn't happen often but when it does I want to punch my computer in the face.
I'm sure I'm not the only one saving JPGs from Photoshop in large numbers that this happened to..

Feb 20, 2012I am trying to link my parts list to a drawing however all balloons have different numbers.
I open the assembly and check everything out from vault I open my bom and change item numbers. When I get back to my drawing and apply for auto balloon I get completely different item numbers in my balloons. We just updated our software to a new 2012 version so it's maybe something with set up.

Jul 19, 2012I have an action in which it will place an image onto an image like a watermark, when i place the image, it is not center by center so i drag it or use keyboard arrows to center and then press enter, then i saw its on the center, but when i save it, the saved image is not on the center, how was that?
you can see that the right side of border it is not centered because the left side border is thicker than right side, here is the part of the action
you can see that i move the image after i place it because its not on the center so adjusting it makes it at the center but the Translate part is not equal.

May 12, 2009A while back I took a Photoshop class and remember a lesson on where you could select a region of an image and save it for the web with a high quality and select another region of the same image and save it for the web with a low quality, so that the focal point was saved with a high quality and the background was saved with a low quality. I have no idea where my notes are from this class and can not remember at all how to do this. Can anyone direct me to a tutorial about this?

Mar 8, 2013If I load a large image (say 5400 px sq.) in Paint.net (or similar) & choose a zoom level where I like the look / size of individual elements, in ONE area. Image is still no where near 100%.
I select a rectangle so the ACTUAL size of rectangle_AND the way the selection looks AT THAT ZOOM level, is what I want. Say, to use as Fx header background.
Problem I've had: Because the image I initially cropped wasn't at 100%, when crop it - the PHYSICAL size of the rectangle may be 1920 x 180 px, but the prgm still thinks / knows it's really 3500 x 450 (or such), at 40% zoom. I can't just save the image - as it looks on screen - & it be that size when reopen it.
I DON'T want to resize / resample it, because (sometimes) that changes the current look (size of certain elements in the image). The only way I've found (gotta be another way) is take a screen shot of the cropped image, at it's CURRENT zoom level. Then it will save as a 1920 x 180 px image, NOT as a 3500 x 450 px image that was at reduced zoom.
If I resize & save at a REDUCED %, it can change the look & size of elements. Every thing I've tried to save the image - at it's PHYSICAL size on screen - say 18.5 in. x 1.75 in. (when image is NOT @ 100% zoom), results in saving a much larger image. I understand this, but looking for a way around it. Used various settings & tried to trick the apps many ways - cropping in one app, copying to another - you name it.

I am also sue that thousands of screen printer also use this feature. Why can not such a simple already installed feature not be kept?
