In CS5 I would always save my in-progress .gifs as Quicktime Movies. Since upgrading, I have not been able to open any of these QuickTime files, and I also cannot open .mp4 files that I created in Photoshop CS6. I don't have any plugins installed, if I should.

View 11 Replies View RelatedFor some reason, suddenly when I import video frames to layers, it is now set as Quicktime files that can only be opened (AVI,MPEG etc) and won't pick up MMV files at all. I used to make a lot of gifs fine with WMV files (thats the only format Photoshop PS5 would let me open for years), now it is set up as Quicktime files all of a sudden. It only opens AVI files as well, other video formats pop up with blank screens and then go transparent. Is there any way I can fix this? I'd like to be able to make gifs with WMV files again.
Is there some way you can open MP4 files onto Photoshop CS5 as well? Converting Youtube vids to WMV is quite a process.
I have the trial for Photoshop CS6 and the other day I was opening video files to make gifs from perfectly fine, however, now when I try to open video files a box opens saying "Reading Video Format" and then it gets stuck and frozen.
I left it for an hour, when it came back it was just the same, sometimes it makes my whole computer freeze. I've tried several times with different formats, nothing works and I cannot open any kind of video file now into Photoshop. Is this a common problem or is there anything I can do to sort it?
We're seeing an issue when exporting in H.264 (High Quality) and playing in QuickTime 10.0 (Mac OS 10.6). We are using a custom size video to fit a spot on our website (398x498). When exported and played in QuickTime 10.0 the white inverts throughout the video (back and forth). The same issue is not seen when viewed in VLC, QuickTime 10.1 Chrome, Firefox, Flash or IE.
We are also NOT seeing the same issue when we export the same video to a different custom size (336x596). Those videos play normal in QT10.0. And lastly we're NOT seeing this issue when exporting as QuickTime/JPEG2000 format.
the issue is very specific to QuickTime 10.0 on Mac 10.6. VLC, Flash, Chrome, FireFox all play it correctly.
I'm in the render video dialog and quicktime option is disabled.
It wasn't a little while ago when I was playing.
I can not find in the help topics why.
Might somebody be able to help me un-disable it?
Recently, an error has occurred when I try to load a video. I get an error message saying the video cannot be loaded because Quicktime 7.1 or later must be installed. However, I have repeatedly installed, repaired, etc. the latest version of Quicktime on my computer.

I've gone into Share>Create Video File>Custom>Quicktime Movie Files>Options>General... but I am unable to find a 1920 x 1080 option. 800x600 is the highest setting with the default being 720x480. I'm using VS Pro X4 and also tried X2.

I got a new laptop and loaded VS x4 on it. I have a complex edit that I started on my big desktop, where everything worked fine. I have a mix of AVCHD and MOV (1080i QuickTime) files, and they work together with no problem on the desktop computer.
However, the new laptop simply can't "see" the QuickTime files. I can't load them into the Library, so I can't re-link them in my project. I updated my version of VS x4 to SP2 on this computer, and still no go with the MOV files. How do I get VS to recognize the MOV files?
Edit: I can play the MOV files on the computer and I loaded the latest version of QuickTime. But VideoStudio still doesn't recognize QuickTime (MOV) files. MOV is not a selection in the drop-down list when I choose formats of videos to load into the Library.
I use Corel PaintShop X3 for my photo’s so logic says if I want to edit videos I need VideoStudio X4!
I have HD video taken on a Canon G12 camera which is a MOV file. When played on my Windows computer it opens in QuickTime.
My question is will Videostudio X4 upload the MOV files OK for editing and can I convert to play on QuickTime or Windows WMP?
I never had a problem exporting my projects as Quicktime MOV files until a few months ago. Now it seems when I create a QT file they come out blurry/ fuzzy/unusable. I have uninstalled/reinstalled VSPX3 and QT (and have tried to do it on several computers) but nothing has worked.
View 4 Replies View RelatedMy current workflow is to use 3ds max to render image sequences of animation, then to use Media Encoder to convert them to mov files using the Quicktime Animation codec. The problem is that using these clips in Premiere prevents me from scrubbing the sequence timeline fluidly, even tho all of the files are being accessed from a Thunderbolt drive on a Macbook Pro. Even opening them in the Quicktime player causes sluggish playback. The images rendered are 1280x720. Because of the animation being frame based, I need the derived video to not drop frames like some codecs do, so the Quicktime Animation codec prevents that and it preserves the alpha channel in the images. So my question is, what can I do to improve this so that scrubbing the timeline becomes fluid?

PROBLEM:
I have a number of videos (HD 1080p) that I have recorded. Each video is on average 50 minutes in length - what I want to do it to be able to do is to slice this video into 10 x 5 minute videos (based on topics discussed in the video), (so essentially clip the video into these segments and edit each one) and then when producing the video file - actually create 10 separate video files (all with editing in place) instead of one single large file.
As far as I have been able to work out, I need to go through the whole file, clip relevant sections, edit them, and then save project. I then need to go trim the saved file 10 times, to extract each time the single 5 minute video I want to create. This is a fairly manual and time consuming process, hence my hope that I can create 10 files based on the clips I have made in the larger 50 minute file in one go.

Photoshop CS6 Extened won't play or process Dolby Digital (AC-3) Audio Files from my AVCHD video files.The video plays fine just no sound at all. When processed still no sound. Are there any (AC-3) audio codecs I can download and install. How would I install them. Do I need to convert audio files to another format & if so how & what format.

View 9 Replies View RelatedMy main user folder on the iMac is set to be shared (read/write, including all enclosed files) with my MacBook Pro. The job is a series of one-page InDesign files (they are newspaper advertisements). The IDD files contain a series of Illustrator files with linked PSD files.The idea is that we can both work on the .idd and .ai files in the same folder at the same time.
It's all working fine EXCEPT that whenever an .ai file is opened on the MacBook, Illustrator doesn't know where the linked PSD files are. We can update the link, but when the .ai file is then opened on the iMac and saved, the same thing happens the next time it is opened on the Macbook.
I don't want to embed the PSD files into the .ai files as sometimes I have to modify them and they can be linked to up to 20 .ai files.

I am creating a new catalog for my photos in the Photoshop Elements 11 Organizer. When I choose "File Get Photos and Videos From Files and Folders...", the only option I have to import my photos is "Media Files". "Media Files" includes all picture and movie formats. I do not want to import my home movies, only my family photos. I do not see a filter to import only photo formats (e.g. *.jpeg and not *.mts). "File Get Photos and Videos By Searching..." does not proivide this option either. It's a problem because my photos and videos are stored along side each other in the same folders, and I have nearly 2 TB of data.
How can I import only my photos in to a new catalog in Photoshop Elements 11?

Premiere Elements 12 for Mac. Software version 10.9.2. imported movies from Panasonic HDC-SD600 setting HA1080i 25fps are pixelated and/or verticals are fuzzy. If importing using same camera but in 1080p 50fps movies are not pixelated and with very little fuzzy vertical lines. I am very disapointed as I have no problem with iMovie!

I recently purchased a new laptop and loaded a second copy to it (running Windows 8). When I process a RAW file and try to open it in PS6 about every 4th file does not appear in the PS6 workspace. The file details show in the top left corner, the background layer appear, I supposedly can save this file but I cannot see anything. When I close PS6 and re-open it and re-open the ACR file, then open to PS6 if works fine.
I have Photshop CS6 Extended but when I click on the .cr2 which is the RAW file I keep getting an error message "Could not complete your request because it is not the right kind of document"

View 2 Replies View RelatedYesterday, before closing down, I uninstalled P/S 7, CS2 and CS3 to gain space, but do not know whether that action is relevant to my problem. Today I find that JPEGs will not open in Photoshop, and in Bridge only by going through Camera Raw. Photoshop will open tiffs, while Bridge will open some, but not all tiffs, through Camera Raw only. This problem follows many months of trouble-free operation of CS6.
My operating system is Windows 7 Ultimate. I have downloaded the latest patches for CS6, and have set the Bridge Preferences item on File Associations to Default.
I am using win 7 and CS5. I have both JPG and RAW files; however all of a sudden when I attempt to open some JPG files, they somehow are vertically truncated only opening halfh the picture.

I try to open an EPS file that was created in Illustrator or Freehand (or any other EPS that is not a Photoshop EPS), it opens up
as a blank document, like a transparent layer (you just see the
gray and white checkerboard background).
This happens whether I try to open the file by FILE>OPEN or if I drag the EPS file over the PS7 icon.
I tried everything and looked everywhere but without success.
I had bought CS4 and Lightroom from Adobe.
My raw files ( nef as well as dng) open fine on it, however when they are converted, there is a mesh in front of the image.
My jpg files previously adjusted in CS2 also do not open properly with same mesh in front of them.
