Photoshop :: CS6 Opening Video Files
Aug 6, 2012I have the trial for Photoshop CS6 and the other day I was opening video files to make gifs from perfectly fine, however, now when I try to open video files a box opens saying "Reading Video Format" and then it gets stuck and frozen.
I left it for an hour, when it came back it was just the same, sometimes it makes my whole computer freeze. I've tried several times with different formats, nothing works and I cannot open any kind of video file now into Photoshop. Is this a common problem or is there anything I can do to sort it?

Jun 6, 2012In CS5 I would always save my in-progress .gifs as Quicktime Movies. Since upgrading, I have not been able to open any of these QuickTime files, and I also cannot open .mp4 files that I created in Photoshop CS6. I don't have any plugins installed, if I should.

Feb 13, 2011I recently purchased Video Studio Pro X3 - and after going through the knowledge base and product read me, I have been unable to find an answer to the following problem I have:
PROBLEM:
I have a number of videos (HD 1080p) that I have recorded. Each video is on average 50 minutes in length - what I want to do it to be able to do is to slice this video into 10 x 5 minute videos (based on topics discussed in the video), (so essentially clip the video into these segments and edit each one) and then when producing the video file - actually create 10 separate video files (all with editing in place) instead of one single large file.
As far as I have been able to work out, I need to go through the whole file, clip relevant sections, edit them, and then save project. I then need to go trim the saved file 10 times, to extract each time the single 5 minute video I want to create. This is a fairly manual and time consuming process, hence my hope that I can create 10 files based on the clips I have made in the larger 50 minute file in one go.
as I have 30 videos to edit, so looking for ways to save time!

Nov 20, 2012I have started a new video project with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 in Photoshop CS6with a pixel aspect ratio set to square.. In the project I add a video to the timeline. The source video was created in QuickTime and exported at a 1920 x 1080 resolution MOV file. I have check both the source clip at the canvas siye and have confirmed that both are 1920 x 1080. However, when I import the video it takes up less than the entire frame. It appears that the video is being scaled down so that there is some white space to the right and below the video clip. See the image below.
In the past I have been able to import 1920x1080 video to a 1920x1080 project without a problem. I have 4 or 5 examples that have worked well.

Oct 28, 2013So I use Photoshop a lot. I think I got CS6.Anyways. Last week I could play 3 internet files, two movies, photoshop 5 different documents and much more. However, now I can't open internet and do photoshop. I have to restart my computer to run photoshop and make sure I don't use any other program. Sometimes the file only lasts 30 minutes before it won't allow me to edit.
I have A LOT of room left on my computer. 706GB free of 907GB. I tried to clean my computer, but that didn't work. It also is saying extrusion file is curruptied or damaged.

May 7, 2012Right clicking on image in LR4, then selecting open with CS6. CS6 program starts fine, but no image? If I select CS5, it works fine.
Also, I tried a workaround, by exporting the file to my desktop (DNG). Right clicking on the image, and selecting CS6, again will not open the image? If I open CS6, then Menu>file>open, all files are greyed out until I select "all documents" in the enable menu?

Feb 4, 2013I recently purchased CS6 and loaded it to my desktop PC running Windows 7 and everyhing is fine.
I recently purchased a new laptop and loaded a second copy to it (running Windows 8). When I process a RAW file and try to open it in PS6 about every 4th file does not appear in the PS6 workspace. The file details show in the top left corner, the background layer appear, I supposedly can save this file but I cannot see anything. When I close PS6 and re-open it and re-open the ACR file, then open to PS6 if works fine.

Feb 27, 2013I'm IT support to a team of studio artists who are having some issues with our newly upgrade CS6 Premium suite (Mac OS 10.6 + Mac OS 10.8).
(Mac OS 10.6 problem) someone will be working on a 2GB network file, and tries to open a PDF to import elements into the current document. Machine has 12GB RAM (7 allocated to PS, 2 free, the rest used with OS/other apps).
After choosing the PDF file, the window will pop up and become 'stuck' in front of all other windows, all other programs. Activity Monitor describes PS as hung (red text) but Finder still recognises it as working (but will not show the program title in the menu bar). It is possible to CMD+TAB between programs, and the pallets recognise mouse-over actions but are unresponsive to click. Again, "Import" window is on top of all other windows, and can be moved but does not respond to mouse clicks.
Activity Monitor also shows intense disk activity (60-80MB/s) on local volumes. It appears not to be network activity though (while hanging, 50-150KB/s). RAM allocation doesn't change during this time.
The extreme disk activity implies that PS is processing on the scratch disk, but what or why is it doing this, and is there any way to disable it. Would it have anything to do with Background Save or Autosave? Something to do with purging memory?

Photoshop :: CS6 Bridge Not Opening
Jun 10, 2012Before I installed CS6, I removed CS6 Beta and my copy of CS5 using tools provided by Adobe. When I run Bridge, I notice that for each of the Open With apps shown, they are listed twice.
When I choose a JPEG or raw photo it opens with no problem, but when I open a PNG, I have to choose open with since my Mac will open it in PREVIEW. When I choose open with PS, it loads and opens a second Photoshop even though I have it open already.
