I exported a still from AE CS4 32 bit project to work on in Photoshop but found that Photoshop crashes every time I try to open it. I can open it in Fireworks or Premier but not in Photoshop.
I am using a dual dual Xeon with 12 GB RAM with a Quadro FX1500. There is plenty of power there and 4 TB of disc space. Open GL is turned on and normally it has no problem with 32 bit files. Any ideas?
I installed both the Photoshop CS 5.1 for 64 and 32 bit...I opent the 64 bit Photoshop to edit a jpg file, but when I import it or drag and drop it into the Photoshop interface, Photoshop dies , and stops working and shuts down every time I do this.
I can open one file fine. As soon as I try to open a second document, so that I have 2 files open at the same time, it crashes. It can be anything, from a .PSD to a plain .jpg.
It started after I installed 3ds max 2009. I've uninstalled it,
Photoshop keeps crashing when i open specific .psd files, but they'll open and function in Windows 7. ( all files were created on a mac)The files are quite important because i need them for work, and i can't keep working on a Windows just for those couples of files.I have the crash report, but it makes no sense to me at all.

I'm working with a 2.73G PSB file that will be printed in a large format printer and eventually end up as a vinyl wrap for a cargo trailer. I've never worked with a Photoshop document this large but from what I've read, PSB's can be up to 4G.
When I open the file, photoshop goes through the trouble of loading the file (the progress bar loads all the way) but when it trys to actually open the document, I get a message from Windows that the program has encountered a problem and has to be closed. At an early stage of working on the document, when the file was less intense with layers and blending modes, the file would open but crash when saving.
The funny thing is that my co-worker runs a MAC with lower specs than mine and the file opens and seems to run stably. I'm thinking it could be a RAM issue but according to CC spec's my machine should work fine?
On my machine, I'm running:
Windows 7 - Service Pack1 Intel Core i5-2400 CPU @ 3.10GHz 1.60 8.00 GB (2.98 GB usable) 32 Bit
I've also read that to access your full RAM's capability you have to be running 64 bit but I'm not sure about this?
i'm using videostudio x6 to cut and recode ts-files from am Kathrein UFS 923 sat recorder. But i have infrequent crashes during "opening video file". Some ts file makes the opening dialog hangs up (this occurs at the mouse single click on the ts file and the double click too Another software: DVD HD Studio 3 from Hanilein-Software manage this ts files correct ..
When I open a file the program crashes. It doesn't matter what file, they all cause the program to crash. It seems that X6 just cannot create the work environment unless it starts from scratch.
The solution I have found is to start a new document first and THEN open the file I want. After that, everything is fine. I can open any files I want all day with no crashes. Kind of weird, but what the heck..at least it works. By the way, my files are typically small (less than 2MB) composed of a few jpegs, some text, and some simple vector shapes.
I am using the 64 bit version of X6 on a 64 bit pc running Windows professional with 8GB ram.
I installed a OKI C301dn printer this week, thats when the problem first occured (not sure if the printer has anything to do with the problem, but it's the only 'change' i made) Most .ai files will open normally, except the one I need. The specific ai file (contains a linked jpg and a linked psd file) opens normally on my other machines (Mac and Pc) I removed the printer and CS5, used the Adobe cleaning tool and reinstalled CS5 but the problem remains. (I also did a memory check, registry clean) I'm using Win7 64bit on a i7 system with 8gb
The Coreldraw Graphics Suite X5 is my first foray into this product since version 3 (way back when). PhotoPaint supports CR2 files.
Except that in my case it doesn't do so consistently. Files from my Canon 5D MkII occasionally open fine (just this evening, I started getting a problem withe these as well), but 7D files consistently crash the program and I have to exit.
I have SP3 installed.
This machine is a 6-month old 64-bit HP desktop (AMD multi-core processor) with 8 GB of RAM. Photoshop, Lightroom, Painter 12, and PSP X4 work without incident and open all supported files smoothly.
I have a problem with Photoshop CS4 Trial. The first time that I ever installed it it worked without a hitch, along with several other trials; Dreamweaver, Fireworks etc... Since than I have reformatted my computer due to other problems and now am running a clean install of Vista 64. Now, however, Photoshop crashes every time i try to open it. Ive tried several installs in several different directories.
There are times during a couple of the installs that the installer has had an error, "Photoshop CS4 failed to install do you want to continue?" When that happen I close the installer and delete all files pertaining to any adobe software off of my system including their registries.
Another thing that I forgot to mention was that when Photoshop loads it says "The monitor Profile "Samsung - Natural Color Pro" appears to be defective. Please rerun your monitor calibration software." Than it gives me 2 options, "Ignore Profiles" and "Use Anyway". Ive tried both options. Is this causing my problem?
Any help would be greatly appreciated. My CPU specs are as fallows:
I am having trouble opening an EPS file in Photoshop CS5. Previously, PS wasn't opening at all, but I cleaned up my fonts and I can now open some files. This particular EPS file, however, causes the application to crash every time. I recently had similar trouble with Firefox and Flash and have since upgraded to 10.7. Crash report below:

I am working on a new iMac and a few weeks ago I started to try the Photoshop CC-Tryout-Version. Everything was ok, but today Photoshop stopped opening files and crashes. The Tryout-Version is still valid - the 4 weeks haven't passed yet.

I have downloaded and installed Photoshop CS5 Extended. The problem is that after entering my ID and password (first time), the splash screen appears, saying Photoshop. When it tries to initiate "plugins-SupportScript" it crashes every time.
I uninstalled and re-installed. I get the same problem. What do I do? What should I check? I am using Windows XP, Service Pack 3.
Using CS3 on a vista 64 bit, 8gb ram, tons of storage.Screen whites out when trying to access the performance box.Have reduced the number of font, cleared cache no change.I believe this is an old problem, I sorted it out early last year usinfg vista 32 bit, but did not keep the solution as hard copy. main c: drive crashed and installed vista 64 bit on a new hd.
I have a problem with my Photoshop CS 3. Everytime I try to open a file the program crashes producing the message "Photoshop.exe has detectetd a problem".
I'm runnig CS 3 on a Windows XP x64 OS. I have already installed the update to version 10.0.1.
All I could find out was, that it must have something to do with my EPSON printer driver for the EPSON Stylus Photo 2100. If I remove the driver from the system, CS 3 works without crashing.
All of my recently installed SC4 software will initiate and open perfect. However, when I try to open a file it gives me the attached error. I can begin a new document and render just fine.
PS CC crashing when trying to open multiple images? If you open one file at a time, there are no issues, but 2 or more and it crashes as shown below. I've tried it with JPG's, TIFF's and PSD's and still get the same problem.I've also tried starting it while pressing alt/ctrl/shift, but still get the same problem.
PS CC is version 14.0, 32 bit, running on Windows 7 which is up to date. I do only have 4GB RAM, of which PS takes 60% of it according to the system info panel.I never had this problem before in CS6 or previous.
I've been using CS4 Extended for 3+ years with no problem, and suddenly it is giving me the message, "Adobe Photoshop CS4 Extended has experienced a problem and must close..." This also happens when I try to set Preferences. I'm using XP 5.1, SP3. I've installed the latest updates, but the Camera Raw 5.7 update fails to install.
Here is my system info:

I have been trying all morning to get Photoshop CC to open some screenshots I took, something that I've normally had no problem with. Any way I try to open the files (dragging them to the icon in my dock to launch Photoshop, openening Photoshop first and then going to File -> Open and opening them) causes PS to crash. This happens with old screenshots and new screenshots.
I just got a new computer over the weekend and have gone from Snow Leopard to Mountain Lion. I'm not sure if the issue is with OS 10.8 or Photoshop CC 14.1.2?
A few months ago I bought and downloaded Photoshop Elements 12 from Adobe's website due to my Elements 8 crashing before it opens. For about a month it worked fine, but when I clicked on the logo Elements 12 wouldn't open. I would right-click my images and try to open them in Elements 12 but a window would pop up saying "Photoshop Elements 12 Editor has stopped working" (I use Windows). Using Safe Mode I fixed Elements 12 so that the window appears where I can click between Organizer and Editor. Organizer works fine, but when I click editor the loading bar appears and the "Stopped Working" screen would appear again. how I can use Editor on Elements 12 again?
I have had this problem intermittently for years with different versions and different computers, but this time it is not going away. I need to use the 64 bit version for large files, but it keeps crashing in several different ways.
1- I open the program from the desktop. It shows the spash screen, shows the workspace for a couple of seconds, and then crashes with the message: Problem Event Name:APPCRASH Application Name:Photoshop.exe Application Version:12.1.0.0 Application Timestamp:4d90d339 Fault Module Name:StackHash_8d67 Fault Module Version:0.0.0.0 Fault Module Timestamp:00000000 Exception Code:c0000096 Exception Offset:0000000078e650ac OS Version:6.1.7601.2.1.0.256.48 Locale ID:1033 Additional Information 1:8d67 Additional Information 2:8d672743ada8a2e1e75c51ac7051c8c2 Additional Information 3:354b Additional Information 4:354bf194360e47150cf5d5ca4e71d674
I am using the latest version. My video card drivers are totally up to date.I am using a decent computer with 16 gig of ram.I am opening the program as an administrator.I have reset the prefrences too many times to count by deleting the prefrences and holding down ctrl+alt+shift at startup.
2- If by some wild stretch of the imagination I get the program to start with totally cleared prefrences and running as administrator then the program will crash about 75% of the time when using "Save As".If I try to do anything special like create a new folder to put the file into then the chances of a crash increase greatly.
3- If I try to open up a file from Lightroom, even if the files are opening every other way, Photoshop will crash very often.
What is going on here? I have made no changes to my computer, have not installed any new programs, and, as I stated earlier, have everything updated. I even stopped using plugins a long time ago because I did not want to take the chance that it was going to cause this fragile program to crash, so all plugins are uninstalled. Why does this keep happening? When this has happened before everything will work fine for months and then suddenly I cannot get the program to open. When it does open again, for seemingly as unknown a reason as when it stopped, it will work anywhere from a few minutes to another couple of months.
This seems to be a problem that tons of people have, but I have not been able to find any answer other than "Delete Settings" or "Run as Administrator" or "Update *****." What can I do to keep this from happening and to fix it when it happens?
Every time I open Photoshop Elements Organizer it either crashes before opening or very soon after. I am able to use the editor, but not the organizer. I ahve removed all older versions, disabled my anti-virus software, and have uninstalled and reinstalled the program several times with no luck. I have a Dell Laptop with windows 7 - 64 bit operating system and dual quad processor. I have used several versions of Elements and have never had this problem before. The last version that I had installed and worked was version 8.
I have two laptops, one Mac OS 10.6 and one brand-new 10.8.2. They both of Illustrator CS6 installed via the cloud solution thing, and they both crash shortly after opening existing documents. The minute I attempt to change something — move a path, add a layer, anything — Illustrator crashes with the following error.
Scott suggested I try a Safe Boot. Indeed, whenever I reboot the computer with the shift key held down I'm able to use Illustrator until I quit. I'd rather not reboot my entire machine every time I need to use Illustrator, and I'll never remember to not accidently quit it.
I was working on a project just fine until when I went to open it this morning. When I open it, AE crashes with either this message:
OR this message:
and finally ends with a message like this:
There are no special plugins being utilized in the project I am working in, only several Illustrator files. I'm not sure how dynamic link has anything to do with this because i'm not using it with Premiere Pro. All I know is that the project worked fine when I closed it last night, and now this is happening. It's a paid job as well, so it's very important that I can open it again.
I tried uninstalling and reinstalling CS6 and my video card drivers. Just to be clear, AE opens just fine, it's only opening this specific project that gives the crash. Specs:
Windows 7 Ultimate (updated) Core i7 3770k GeForce GTX 570 1.2 gb 16 gb ram 256gb SSD 1TB media drive
Corel draw x4 starts up fine, when you either pick a template, open an existing file, or click the new drawing button the mouse pointer becomes the circle and it says Processing at the bottom right corner of the screen, the status bar next to processing does not progress at all and it just stays like this until i close it. It says (not responding) in the top bar.
I have downloaded the updates from corel draw and have also un installed corel draw and re installed it and it is still the same.
