Oct 6, 2011Is that possible to read the Autocad Table data , without opening the Autocad from VB.NET. I tried with opening one autocad then loading the source dll. it was working perfectly.

GIMP :: Reading Raw Image Data (not Camera RAW)
Nov 23, 2011Is it possible to read raw image data into Gimp? By raw, I mean image data without a header or compression, i.e., RGB, 16-bit unsigned, or 32-bit floating point grayscale, etc.
I see "Raw image data" under "Open > Select File Type", but grayscale isn't listed. Is the only option? Are there any add-ons for grayscale?

May 23, 2013Would you have a solution to accessing ODTables for a dwg object only loaded into memory? I have 1000+ dwgs that I want to return a string with the names of the various ODTable names for auding purposes that I would prefer to just side load rather than full load for performance reasons.
I'm attempting to use something like this (which works fine on an open drawing):

The problem is that I can't seem to link the ODTables object off of the memory database object. In this sample, the msgbox always returns a count of 0 where I would expect it to be in the range of 1-4.

AutoCAD Architecture :: Space Evaluation / XLS Template Also Reading Space Property Set Data?
Feb 1, 2012after discovering zones and the space evaluation tool I wonder whether it is possible to customise the XLS output further by also reading out information from a property set attached to the space?
The office standard is to have a property set attached to each space that defines a room number (which is the level ID plus a number, say G-01), the area and the space name.
We used to simply schedule the areas with a schedule table. That only gives us net rooms, no subtotals per department (or say per flat) and no grandtotal.So we got as far as using zones grouping the spaces in each flat.
Now I need an area schedule XLT template that also displays the room number from the space's property set and the schedule grouped in a fashion that I get subtotals per flat (=my zones) in another column and a grandtotal.Playing with the Space evaluation tool I seem to only ever get Room/ zone names and their areas.

Nov 28, 2008how to disable the cropping tool from cutting out data on layers when you do want it keeping!... its ok if you don't.. but there are times when you want to crop an image and not lose that hidden data!
also why can't you drag n'drop layers to another document tab!! its stupid workflow not to mention all the other lacking areas of CS4 tabbed ui.. like mousewheel functionality.

Aug 27, 2013I've taken a color picture and made it black and white by doing the following: Layer>New Adjustment Layer>Hue/Saturation. I brought the saturation down to -100. The pencil is selected and my foreground color is black.
When I try to select the flowers in my picture to bring out their color (within the black and white image), I get a circle with a black line thru it and the error message "could not rasterize because the pixel data for this layer is not directly editable". The steps I followed are working for most of my team but some of us are getting this error message.

In the interest of not using the actual captures (intelectual property restrictions), I have extracted the data alone to a new multi layered file with each address as its own layer. Some have 1 person, some have 200 people.
Can I export each layer to file in such a way that the canvas will not be the 75 inch canvas in the parent image? I needed to use such a large transparent background because population density is very high. Is ther an autodetect feature?
3ds Max :: Viral Orphaned Animation Layer Data
Feb 16, 2012we are seeing "orphaned" animation layer data hanging around in our files. even in a totally empty file, it accounts for about 30mb of data, and it slows down loadingsaving. we suspect it came from a client asset at some point, but unfortunately it carries over even on merge so it has propagated quite quickly to a large number of our assets.
using maxscript to access the animLayer manager to delete these does not work either.. (it will remove a few of the layers, but others generate a runtime error) here's a snippet from the listener:

in max 2010, at the very least we were able to use "File-->New.. Keep Objects and Heirarchy", which would leave this data behind at the expense of removing all other keyed animation data in the scene as well. this doesn't seem to work in 2012.
attached is a screenshot from the trackview (only place i know to see it--the Animation Layer Toolbar does not see them). i would attach a file as well, but even compressed it is 24mb..

Sep 15, 2011I have been asked to write a module that will export layer data from AutoCAD and put it in an Excel spreadsheet. The user wants to have this done through a macro. I am assuming that I need to create a dll that is called from inside AutoCAD but I am not sure.
They want to start with AutoCAD 2008 and once we get it working there we will convert it to 2011 or 2012.
First of all, I can not find the 2008 API and second of all I'm not sure where to start. I am very experienced at programming. We are going to use VB.NET.

I simply want to select the black portion of the image, copy - duplicate a set amount around the existing image.
I thought this would be select, copy paste, paste..... done, save. but no not that easy.
I assume I have 2 layers a FG and a BG layer. I believe that FG is Black ? I have tried rectangle select then paste but that is not working.
How do you get a listing of layers?

Jan 4, 2003when you load up photoshop, there is a window that shows what it is loading. and everytime i load up Photoshop, it stops responding when it gets to "Reading Fonts..."
i don't know what to do. I've deleted/reinstalled it and it didn't fix.

Mar 9, 2008I have CS3 10.0.1, Vista Ultimate and 3Gb of ram. Until a week ago, CS3 was running fine - quick start up, quick file opening, quick filters. However, for reasons I can't fathom, it has started to take around 30 seconds on "Reading Preferences" during start up, and around 40 seconds to open a 22.8Mb file (with a "Progress/Reading Photoshop Format..." dialogue and progress box).
I have no network printer and have deleted and reset my "Preferences". Made no difference.
I have not installed any soft- or hard-ware which I can imagine conflicting with CS3 in some way.
how to get back my normal CS3 performance.

Nov 18, 2012I have an early 2008 Macbook Pro running Snow Leopard. It's been awhile since I've tried installing Photoshop Elements 6, but I am trying currently. Disc is good, no scratches, used for install plenty of times in the past. Every time I insert it into the laptop, it takes the disc and thinks on it, like it's going to load. But then just ends up spitting the cd back out.

Apr 24, 2012I have a master shape file that contains parcel ID, owner, tax info., etc. I have another file ( access 2003 -open to better file format suggestions-) which contains parcel ID and a "yes" or " no" entry for whether or not the parcel needs a new water meter. All I want to do is add the water meter information into the other shape file. This would create one shape file with one table with all the information that I need.
Ultimately I will use the information to do a map query and find out spatially where i need new water meters.
Right now i have the master shape file connected though the “Connect to Data” feature. I also have the new data added to the drawing though the Data sources------>attach under the “Map Explorer” Task pane. I attached access file (ver. 2003 .mdb) which has two columns “Parcel ID” and “Meter”.
I right click on the shape file under the display manager and select”Create a Join;” however my water meter table is not listed as an option. Will this not work?
Plan B - I tried to Create and connect to the access file as an ODBC connection. Followed this guy’s directions to a T [URL]. But when i populate my table under the fdo connection the column headings exist ( “parcel ID” and “Meter”) but the actual data is missing. Am I missing something important?
Note: I am running c3d 2012 on a Win 7 64 Bit machine. I also removed office 32 bit apps and installed 64 bit apps to see if that would solve the problem. No go.

Apr 10, 2013say you make some parcels in your project with custom data fields like: id_no, permit_no, acres_served etc. you attach an agency provided shape file via an fdo connection that has many fields of information like above.
when you right click on your parcel and do parcel properties you get a tab that lets you input the custom parcel data.
lets say you print an fdo map label showing, say, the id_no, provided in the shape file. Then in your custom parcel properties for id_no you type that in.
is there a way to make an expression to put in the other custom parcel properties that will read, say, the permit_no(id_no) from the fdo like and put that information in the custom parcel property field?
AutoCAD Civil 3D :: Data Shortcuts Transferring Super Elevation Data
Jun 7, 2012I'm having problems getting super elevation data to transfer to different drawings by means of an alignment data shortcut. I know alignments hold the super elevation data so I've gone into my alignments data shortcut, input my super elevation data, saved and closed. Now when I open my finished grade drawing, reference in my alignment and profiles, then create a corridor from that information, my super elevation didn't transfer with the reference.
I pulled cross sections and it appears is has no clue there is any super elevation data. Also, I tried bringing it directly into the drawing I'm doing my corridors in and it erred saying I must be in the parent alignment drawing. Data shortcuts are pretty much useless to me if super elevation data doesn't transfer.

But every time I create and place the table the formulas are not in the table. I include the columes that contain the data but it doesn't seem to be working.

I use this technique quite often in Excel. One cell in a table can have various values: A, B, C, or D. While another cell can have a different set of values to choose from: BLUE, RED, ORANGE, or PURPLE. The user can pull down an arrow (similar to a dynamic block) and choose from a set list of values.
Photoshop :: How To Get Histogram To Give Accurate Reading
Apr 24, 2012I use the histogram feature in PS to figure out how many square feet of yarn I will use in a rug that I am making (I work as a rug designer). I am running into a problem with this which is scary because my numbers have to be accurate.
As an example, I may have a 9x12 (inch--this is later blown up to feet using a transparency) drawing. In the drawing there may be 45 organic looking shapes that will be green. I use the magic wand tool and choose all of these green shapes. What I am noticing is that once I get to a certain number (not always consistent) in the histogram reading it will all of a sudden change to a different number and go to (for example) Cache 3. Because of this I have no idea if my histogram reading is accurate.
Is this some sort of memory issue? How do I prevent this from happening so that I can get an accurate heading?
