Oct 15, 2013On a windows 7 machine I am having issues with Photoshop CS6 13.0.1 x64 Extended writing in the wrong direction, its goinf RTL instead of LTR. And the Text direction button that is suppsed to be in the Paragraphs palette is missing. I deleted preferences twice and that didnt change anything. I switched back and forth between Midles Eastern and East Asian, and that did nothing as well.
I look at my laptop MBP (MAC OS X 10.6), which has PS CS6 Extended 13.0.5 x64, and I dont have the problem with it being locked in RTL, however, my laptop doesnt have the text direction button either, and doing the previous methods did not give me that option. Is there something special I have to download in order to get it or something?
Just so you know I hav read this thread, and tried all of the Methods and NONE of them worked for EITHER Operating System.Also here is a Video for Windows 7 and a video for MAC OS X and the do opposite methods switching to either to East Asian or Middle East(both videos do the oppposite).

Mar 12, 2012I am typing in Farsi which is a right-to-left language. What I see in the monitor is correct. Words appear from right-to-left. But when I print, Entire sentence appears from left-to-right.
This happens even if I print to PDF file. So it is not a problem with printer.

In additon on center align text I set my cursor to input a period at the end of a sentence, and the period instead gets added to the beginning.

In character palette language is set to English USA, this is point text.

I created a new point text and this is happening, if I paste text from another document alignment works fine, font is Arial black but happens with all fonts.

Sep 22, 2012Can the "Basic Paragraph" style in Paragraph Styles be modified? How is this done?

I can bring up the Paragraph Styles Options diaglog by double clicking "Basic Paragraph" in the Paragraph Styles panel. I can also modify it, for example, by changing the font family. But when I click OK to save it, it creates a new style and leaves "Basic Paragraph" unchanged.

I know that the Basic Paragraph style can be modified in InDesign, but I don't see how to do it in Photoshop.

Jan 24, 2011I tested yesterday creating a video using "same as first video". All inserted files were AVCHD. The created video file, typed mpg, was missing audio no matter what I tried: tried mp4, avi, etc. I then turned off Smart Render in the options that pop-up when creating the video and it worked ( I have Smart Render turned off in the Preferences, BTW). May 17, 2013I have created a linetype with the text GAS OPTION in it. The line is continuous with a break around the text. In a straight line the linetype works fine (breaks around the text etc). However, when I use a polyline and spline the line for a curved line the text aligns with the direction of the line at the start, but when the line bends, the text suddenly changes direction and reads in the opposite direction. It looks like AutoCAD is trying to keep the text upright rather than following the direction of the line. When the text changes direction it also changes its insertion point and overlaps the continuous part of the line. I have 2013 AutoCAD.
Here is the string I used for the linetype.

Jul 29, 2008I can't start a new paragraph when I hit enter. It just closes the text layer and I have to double click the layer to open it back up. Even when I do that, I can't create a new line break. The same thing happens in InDesign.

The option in the paragraph pallet is not highlighted so I cant select it. The one I am after is the last one 7th from the lefy but it is gray and I can't select it. I get all the words but bunched in one line. I have tried selecting the text layer and selecting Convert to Paragraph and it does nothing. I am sure there is a single option or button I am missing. I can only type titles not a wrapping paragraph in the box

I need to index alphabetically. I done it for the first time last year and accomplished it through Table of Contents(TOC) I saved it in my How to and when I tried to do it again this year it's problematic, not only putting my business in alpha but also putting my page numbers in alpha (they don't match up).

Aug 30, 2005I am having trouble w/ entering text that will auto wrap. I am using PS 6. I drag the text box (which should put me in paragraph mode) and when I type, the words 'disappear' off the edge of the text box instead of auto wrap.
If I hit enter, the next line jumps to the bottom of page/box.
I don't want to have to type each line as a separate text box, but so far that is the only way to get it to work.

I want it to be perfectly aligned on the left and right. I've attached an example from a site i found online, but its somewhat a poor execution, the word spacing varies through out the paragraph.

Aug 11, 2013How do you start a new line in a paragraph block? When I hit the enter key, it just returns to the front of the same line, overwriting the same line over and over again.
1. Clicked Text tool.
2. Dragged out a paragraph block.
3. Started typing and noticed that when it reached the end of the paragraph block, it just wrapped to the beginning.

Jun 18, 2009im working on a brochure. im using paragraphy type, cs4. i drag and draw my text bounding box, and type away, then the text goes beyond the bounding box because i have too much type and there is the + in the lower right hand corner of the paragraph box. how do i get the overflow type to automatically move to another column or paragraphy text box? is there a way to link two together or have the one continue to another column or area?
