View 1 Replies View RelatedI can open photoshop but it does not respond to anything, not even the Ctrl key. I have a new pheonix envy and windows 8. I have only used this photoshop program for one editing project. I have tried to reset the preferences with the keyboard shortcuts but nothing happens. I cannot quit the program or close the window. The program is completely frozen everytime I open it and all I can do it restart the computer. What could be causing this? It was working before I edited some photos....

When ever I restart Photoshop it always automatically opens the last doc in the program from the previous work session. Is there anyway to stop this from happening?
photoshop opens some jpg files 3 (i have a folder with 60 pics raw and jpg ) and it opens always via camera raw. I mean i want to open these 3 files like other jpg files , directly in photoshop.
View 8 Replies View RelatedPhotoshop CS3 opens very slowly. Not the programm, i mean the files. When i make FILE -> NEW and make my setting and press OK it takes about 45 seconds to 1 minute to make the new file.
When the file is open, it works normal till i want to make the next file.
I have tried to update everything is current.
I tried to open jpeg-gif-png and PSD nothing will open.
tried creating new file and the new box wont show.
I believe it is opening the jpeg preview stored with the DNG. Is this true or does Preview support DNG an RAW natively somehow? The particular image I opened, just to try it, looked brighter and more saturated than opening the same image in a converter.

View 3 Replies View RelatedHere's my problem:
I get eps files that i have to post to a website. I open the files in Photoshop, and they open on 1 layer, a Background later, that has a white background. However when I drop them into a PPT or Word doc, they are indeed transparent.
When I open the EPS's in Illustrator, they are transparent. When I re-save the EPS in Illustrator as an Illustrator EPS, and then open that file in Photoshop, it opens on "Layer 1" and is transparent.
Why are these EPS's opening on a background later to begin with?
I installed the CS4 Suite. When Photoshop comes up the background layer is transparent. This happens even if I open a file with Photoshop. In that case, the Layer icon shows the image but what I see on screen is only the checkerboard pattern. The proper way for the New file to show up is with the background a solid (specified) color and for an opened file the actual image being opened.
View 9 Replies View RelatedUnder some circumstances, whenever I open the color dialog (maybe others can't remember) for some reason I don't know Photoshop opens the Help Site in a browser... it does not just once, but maybe dozens of times.
This is an annoying bug that has existed for many Photoshop versions. Keyboard layout is Icelandic.
This is driving me nuts. When I save a photoshop file as a .png at 300 ppi, when I open it it is 299.999 ppi.
I wouldn't mind for my personal use, but these are digital files I sell. Believe me, I will get emails about it.
Even when I open the .png file and change the ppi to 300, if I open it again it's once again 299.999!
I am saving files with a transparent background with compression no interlacing. I'm using save as, not save for web.
Here's the interesting thing.
1. This started happening when I got my new iMac with Lion and installed CS6. Did both at the same time.
2. My assistant, this happens with my assistant who is on PC with Photoshop CS5.
Every time I open a photo in PSD CC, It opens pixelated and inverted.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI opened a raw file from a CD in photoshop cs4, lets call it photo1.nef. 2) I saved the file with a different name on my HARD DRIVE after making changes, photo1b.tif. I did not in any shape or form save the file on the CD (can't anyways). 3) Now, whenever I open the original file, photo1.nef on the CD it opens with all the changes I made previously to the file saved as photo1b.tif (remember this is the original unchanged file not the file I changed). But, when looking at thumbnails it appears to be the unchanged version of the file. I have closed photoshop and deleted all my temp files and still it opens the file with the changes, even though other programs open the file in it's original state without any of my changes.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI downloaded MacHacha because I needed it to join some segments for Toast . So, I open ImageReady and use it but I look in the dock and notice a funky icon and not the right one but again, it still works but I don't trust it. I close IR and re-open it but MacHacha opens instead. I go to my Adobe Photoshop folder which contains IR with the right icon but it still opens MacHacha. So, I click get info in finder and it says that IR is a MacHacha file. WTH? I don't even know how but after I copied IR to my applications but not in my PS folder and I right-clicked get info and it says Kind: Adobe IR but it's the wrong icon. I can use IR but it's all messed up. I opened it from the PS folder and got info and it says it was modified on the 10th which I don't understand. I've used it since then and right until last night, it was working fine with the right icon etc. I also can't jump from IR to PS but the reverse works. I even tried adding IR to the dock from Apps (not PS) and the right icon appeared. However, when I clicked on it, it didn't worked and the wrong icon is shown right next to it. Here are some captures, don't click- C&P. Now, it's happening with PS 7 which is recognized as a MacHacha file.

I've tried all the traditional 'associate this file' but nothing works. You double click on the file, Photoshop loads, then nothing displays. Open... or even drag and drop work just fine.
When ALT+mousewheel is used to zoom, the ALT press is also interpreted to open the menu, so when I stop zooming, I have to press escape again to get out of the menu. Does anyone else see this? It's a bit of a pain. Usually, when ALT is used as a modifier for something else, it also cancels it triggering the menu.
