Mar 17, 2005I'm trying to create a shattered/broken mirror for a print I am currently making. Its either going to be just a few broken pieces of glass, or what I am really trying to make is a mirror after it has fell to the ground and is beginning to shatter.

Mar 30, 2011Any way to put a detailed patten into my glass window.
I have created glass with the slate material editor, used specular 100, glossiness 80 in the Blinn dropdown. Ued mental ray. Looks good, very glassy. Now I want to put a pattern on the glass, like a silouette, only that it is also translucent, part of the glass, as though it was an "etched glass" pattern on the glass. Do i make the pattern into some kind of "mask"? and lay it over existing glass?

Feb 15, 2003I have came to the step where you should add a layer mask, but im not understanding why should i need the layer i have try to add it but whats next i never get the same look as his ball : (.
One more thing when i try to flip a layer vertically the hole thing change, not only the layer : (. How should i do this, how should i flip it.
Photoshop :: CS Raw Broken
Mar 4, 2009I shoot strictly in raw (nef from a D80). All of a sudden a few days ago CS decided it did not want to open raw files any more, tiffs and jpgs still work fine. The first thing I tried was to download the latest raw plugin for CS and install it, still resulting in the same problem. I then proceeded to uninstall and reinstall CS in a few different ways, but to no avail. I also tried opening a raw file from my backup drive with the same results. The specific error message is "could not complete your request because of a disk error," which doesn't mean much to me but I am getting the idea that it is a problem with my machine and not the CS software itself.

Sep 12, 2005I have a picture that was taken on a very cloudy day through the window of a single engine aircraft. There is a considerable amont of glass reflection throughout the photograph which I would like to remove. Most of the reflection is seen in the clouds but there is also a condiderable amount in the water. Since the backround is mostly gray due to the weather the reflection shows up as a light grey to white against the grey. Could you tell me the best way to remove it? Is there a plug-in that will accomplish this quickly or must it be done through some other means?

Nov 13, 2005Ok I am having trouble following the tutorial below for glass buttons. So I googled "photoshop glass buttons" and found this tutorial Now I completed it fine and I think it is amazing. But I am wanting to make rectangle buttons. I have tried 6 other tutorials and followed them word for word and none of the buttons came out right. So I attempted to do the one I pasted above but using rectangle marquee tool. Except when I fill the space it doesnt have a solid edge around.
I was wondering if anyone could simplify or possibly show me a good tutorial for making rectangle glass effect buttons that definatley works.

Mar 4, 2013Since switching to CS6 when I create an image resize action in Photoshop the action runs correctly but if I create a droplet then the action makes the image width and height deminsions the same matching neither from the action.
It makes a 2550 x 1880 image, that I'm trying to convert to 612 x 432 into a 512 x 512 image. It also seems to be having an issue with eps files, because when I open the same eps again and run the action it adds a '-1' then '-2' then '-3' and so on, to the end of the name.
I've tried it on three Macs works the same on each one. I'm try to convert .eps files created in illustrator to .gifs for web preview. I can make an action in Illustrator, but there's no droplet. And if I save the files in .ai then the action for the droplet won't make it past opening the files. Even though suppress action open prompts are turned off.

Aug 22, 2012I created a set of actions a few weeks ago and have been using them regularly. Today all of my actions with curves are no longer working (giving the same effect).
Instead of having the settings I put up on the curves layer, an empty curves layer comes up instead. Is there a way to fix this?

Apr 25, 2008This is hopefully something simple that I am just missing, but am panicking! I can toggle the tools bar on and off, but all that appears is the little slice of blue with the feather on - no tools, and no obvious way to get them back! I'm slightly freaking out as have a mammoth design project on, and whilst I have re-downloaded a trial version its only got a few days left on it and i'll never finish in that time!
