AutoCAD Civil 3D :: Importing Points Using Depths From OGL
May 14, 2012We have a points file to create a "bottom of peat level" surface. The only problem is, along with the X and Y, it only gives us the distance from OGL, not the actual Z Elevation at each point. How do we import these into C3D to create a surface? We have a topo survey for the whole site, so we have and EG surface.

Jun 24, 2013I can give the client cut and fill grid ticks, but they want a map, so to speak. I have an existing surface. I have a post dredging surface. I can run the volumes and create a comparison surface. Now what I need is to display the combined surface in such a way that you can easily see, this is the area where 0 - 0.5 feet was removed, this this the area where 0.5 -1.0 feet was removed, and so on and so forth.

I create a part by creating rectangle on the XY of 90mm centered on 0,0. I add fillets on 3mm on all four corners. I then add two circles centered on 0,0 of diameters 45 mm and 41mm. What I would like to do is extrude the area between 41 mm and 45 mm circles to 10 mm and the rest of the rectangle outside of the circle 45 mm circle to 6 mm. The center of the part from center to the 41 mm circle is void or open.
I have read two solutions that use a "share sketch" function, that I can't find by right-clicking as indicated in the write-up.
AutoCAD Civil 3D :: Subassembly Composer - Varying Depths And Shapes
Oct 15, 2012I have a case with the Subassembly Composer where I have 3 varying depths. InsideLane, OutsideLane, and Shoulder. My Base shape below these 3 shapes will not setup properly. I understand why, it's because the varying depths will create a potential step up or down situation depending on the depth of the top 3 shapes. This prevents the definition of the Base Shape.
For the sake of quantities I'd like to create a Base Shape. I could create Base1 Base2 Base3 (one below Inside Lane, Outside Lane, and Shoulder). I would prefer not to for clarity purposes.
How could one approach this? I'm thinking that I need some conditional components to clean this up. I'm not a pro writing expressions. I basically need to define the links that define the varying depths between the top 3 depths. I need to create another point and link if the depths vary, and that link needs to be included within the shape definition for Base.
AutoCAD Civil 3D :: Design As-built Pressure Pipe Per Depths
Aug 6, 2012Wanted to know if there is a way to place pressure pipes at variable depths.
We got inspector notes which show the depths at each end of the pipes.
And I notice that under Pipe Properties, Part Properties tab, and under Geometry there is Start Cover and End Cover.
But both are greyed out.
Is it possible to use Star Cover and End Cover to design the pipes?

Nov 4, 2013I am working with a part that needs multiple 9mm gun drilled holes to different depths. The problem I am having is not being able to create a truly custom single line hole callout. Example( DIA 9mm +.50mm -.00mm TO DEPTH 1.25in)
I understand that this isn't a common hole callout but in my situation it is what is needed. The values need to be linked to the part and not simply overridden as text. I am essentially wanting to make a style that I could apply to any hole note that would give the hole diameter a metric dimension and the depth an inch value.

Jul 13, 2011Messing around with MAP in Civil3d 2011, creating object data for sanitary sewer manholes, how do you handle object data for inverts since there could be multiple depths and directions. Whats the best way to set it up? And what kind of addtional info should there be. And when I connect to a shp file, how do you label with multiple lines, I seem to only be able to select 1 feature to label. When zoomed out would like to view structure name and when zoomed in view name, rim elevation, invert elevations.

I started to get this strange error with my Photoshop when making a new document in Photoshop and got the following error: "cannot initiate Photoshop because Photoshop cannot create any more windows".
I thought the easiest thing to do would be to reinstall (Photoshop needs reinstalling extremely often unfortunately), but now when I try and open the program it just give an alert beep and closes back up. Even though I rarely use ImageReady, I opened that up to check and it does the same behavior.

May 28, 2004Can anyone tell me what color settings I need to set in photoshop in order to avoid this from happening? It only happens once in a while and I don't know what I've done to fix it or screw it up. What happens is that when I'm in photoshop and I do a "save for web" my document jumps to image ready and when viewing '2 up' for optimization purposes and comparison, I realize that the original view is actually duller in color and does not look like the original in photoshop. The blacks are definitely not as black.

Jun 7, 2004when I got my first Macintosh IICX and all of my MacPaint clip art. I don't want to get rid of the clip art because since I'm still using a black ink printer and not upgrading to a color one, the clip art looks nice in newsletters and the like.
Up until this time I had been using SuperPaint which had the New Superbits editing plug-in to refine the pictures so they had the smoother and cleaner lines instead of looking jagged. With my new computer and printer, I'm also getting Photoshop CS packaged with Adobe Creative Suite Premium, which I have never used before. Since I have not received my order yet, I was wondering if anyone could tell me whether Photoshop has the capability of improving the older MacPaint clip art like SuperPaint did with the New SuperBits editing plug-in. Over the past two days, I have been trying like crazy to back-up my pictures with SuperPaint and then re-saving them with Graphic Converter. It's been so incredibly slow that I thought I would go ahead and ask you, the experts, if Photoshop can also improve the quality of my older MacPaint clip art or if I should continue to back-up my clip art like I have been doing.

Jun 17, 2008I have just got back from the Elbow gig and pulled the images off the card. They load up in Bridge but don't have actual picture thumbnails. They are named correctly, ie: IMG_3483.CR2 but they won't open!? Error message says 'Could not complete your request because Photoshop does not recognise this type of file'
I could see them on the back of the camera.
mac users... i did a software update the other day and I noticed that there was an update for ACR. Could it have been something to do with that? And why can't I find ACR in my Applications?

Oct 30, 2012 of Adobe Photoshop v6.0.1 (quite old, I know, but it do all I want and on my old HW I did not plan/want to use any more recent version, because they are HUGE and with just a little preferences trick, I did not need to reinstall my PS - ever ), yet as Czech user, I need my software to type some special characters as well. Now the only problem is, that some of them PS just refuse to type. Seven small and seven caps are just wrong. See the line "for PS:"...
I battled the problem even by editing the fonts itsels, because that seems to work with Adobe Illustrator, yet this also cause the edited fonts to be useless in another programs. So I looked deeply and in the Adobe settings in directory Fonts / Reqrd are directory CMaps and perhaps editing the character map used will be better and usable solution? how to do it or even determine with file from the 96 files in the CMaps directory are right now used by Adobe Photoshop?

Mar 21, 2007the soft edge feature of the eraser and the brush no longer work. I can go into the pallet and choose a soft edge eraser or brush, but it comes up hard edge. When I try to use the marquee box with a feather to get a soft edge, I again get a hard edge. I've used this technique a lot, so I think I'm doing the method properly. The swatches are set and I would like it to function how it usually does, etc. I mean, even the transparent swatch on the tool bar is not there anymore, so when I use the pen path tool, I get these white and black fills which makes it difficult for me to see the path I am meant to be following.

These files are saved as TIFFs, and as part of my workflow, I have just about everything in Groups. Because of her job duties, I cannot necessarily justify adding her to the CC account since she does not need PS, AI, ID, or any of the other applications as I do. Whenever I am working in Photoshop, my blue looks purple, my red looks orange, but my green seems ok, however when I save it, the colour is different. I know it is not the gamma because that affects everything, not just how Photoshop looks (I'm pretty sure). If someone could help me and tell me how much of a loser I am and give me some simple solution, that would be great because it's a pain not being able to see what it is really going to look like without saving it and looking at that.
