what plug-in that I could use to add a magnifying glass to an image? Inside the magnifying glass I want that part of the image zoomed in. Also I want to add a thumb or finger print to the image. Is the best way to add a finger or thumb print to the image to add a new layer or is there a plug-in or brush that would do this?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm running CS3 Extended on a Dell Latitude 830 laptop with a Dell bluetooth mouse and a Wacom tablet -- the tablet plugs into a USB port.
I'm seeing two hands, two magnifying glasses, two selection tool arrows, etc.
How do I get rid of the doppleganger? It doesn't affect performance,
I have a second laptop with a different bluetooth mouse and have shut that off (machine and mouse) thinking it was picking up an extra signal, but it doesn't make a difference.
All of a sudden getting 3 cursor images for arrows, hand, magnifying glass etc. and can't get rid of.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI just upgrade to LR 4. However in the develop module, whenever I choose my white balance tool and then hover over the image it changes to the magnifying glass. If I click, all it does is zoom in and out. The circle where the WB tool lives, is blank like it usually is when the tool is selected.
I've checked for stuck keys and still have same result.

I can use my touchpad/mouse, but when i try to use my touchscreen to draw or other things with my finger or pen, it doesnt work. If I click outside the box/layer and drag into it, it will work.I have a lenovo twist with windows 8
View 1 Replies View RelatedI was coloring skin textures on a drawing using a spatter brush with flow at 25%. Then i switched over to the blur tool to smooth it out. it was ok.. but not quite what i was looking for, so i switched to the smudge tool. Using that tool with the "sample all layers" box checked, made it look really nice-- so i drew some freckles on the face and the smudge tool really blended them into the skin without making them look blotchy.
So here's the problem: I clicked on the "finger paint" box to see what other effect it would give but it seemed to pick the foreground colors and smear it across the drawing. I didn't like it so i unchecked the box. it was still smearing across the drawing. so i checked and unchecked again... nothing. I searched the internet and all i could find was if any weird behavior arises and persists, restart Photoshop, and while its booting up, hold Ctrl, Alt & Shift to clean out the Preferences. So i did. Same thing.
How to get this tool to function as it was initially. The smudge tool seems to be 'stuck' on the "finger paint" option or feature no matter if the box is checked or unchecked.
I am using photoshop elements 8 on a Windows 7 OS. My cursor often turns into 3 hands with the index finger pointed. Is this normal? How do I get it back to just a simple arrow?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI set up SDKs on my character's fingers. Everything was working fine. Fingers rotated properly from the open hand "0" position to a closed fist at the "10" position. I have the hand set up as the Driver and the fingers as the driven.
I then wanted my IK arm to work in FK, so I went into my attribute editor for IK pole vector constraint and checked on "IK/FK Control". I did a few rotations of the elbow joint and everything seemed fine.
I then went back to do some work on my hand, and when I when to change the values in my channel box to get the hand to clench, the fingers did not rotate into a fist, but rather went in all directions.
I can get the hand to work correctly intermittently (when I go back to the bind pose), so I know the correct rotation information is there. I have tried deleting history and making sure translations are not set on the hand. Would this be a gimbal or a local vs. global orientation problem?
Also, a side question: I noticed that when I built the SDKs for the fingers, I had numerous "blendWeights" created. Are these weights involved with moving the fingers between the minimum and the maximum values you set in the SDK set-up process?
Any way to put a detailed patten into my glass window.
I have created glass with the slate material editor, used specular 100, glossiness 80 in the Blinn dropdown. Ued mental ray. Looks good, very glassy. Now I want to put a pattern on the glass, like a silouette, only that it is also translucent, part of the glass, as though it was an "etched glass" pattern on the glass. Do i make the pattern into some kind of "mask"? and lay it over existing glass?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm in the middle of preparing a couple videos for an event in less than 2 weeks. One will be played on a larger LCD or plasma TV. The person in charge of that stuff at the hotel suggested I put that video on a thumb drive and that it could be looped. But now I find out that I have to set that parameter myself. So far, I can only see that it can be done when you burn the DVD. I just tried it and it works fine.
So, my question is, how can I burn the same video, to a thumb drive to accomplish the same end? Is that possible?
BTW, I'm using VP Pro X5 Ultimate on a PC.
I wanted larger page thumbs and find a setting in XaReg
As the attached screen shot shows, the thumbs are indeed bigger but the gallery width has stayed the same so that the large thumbs are clipped.
P.S. I would like even bigger page thumbs.
My work PC says it is W7 64bit, Xeon E5504 2.0GHz ( 2 processors ) with 24GB. I am not sure how fancy that is but it sure has a lot of memory.

Scrolling the PageGallery thumbs was super fast.
Scrolling the whole document was a bit laggy but just acceptable ( not really ).
BUT the delay between clicking on a PageGallery thumb and that page being rendered was unacceptable ( ~15secs ).
So, unable to navigate at a workable speed, I gave up and split the document into several separate files.

It's just the same. If anything the delay after clicking a page Gallery thumb is longer. So I guess memory was never the problem ?
I am running cs4, I have a picture of a hand holding a piece of paper, I want to put text behind the thumb and the forefinger. I'm thinking clipping mask, but I can't seem to get it to work right.

For instance, would an average 25 Mb raw file convert to about 5 Mb jpeg with the Lr export quality set to 100? To about 3.5 Mb with a quality of 80? …
I know the size will vary, but when I am exporting a collection of raw files and I have set the max file size to a certain amount, Lr sometimes won’t convert all the images because I have limited the file size too small. I’d like to be able to get a handle on some sort of quality/file size relationship before I start the export process.
In LR3, when exporting a raw file as a jpeg the only choices given at the top of the dialog box are Hard Drive and CD. Is there a way to export directly to a thumb drive or external HD without exporting to the HD then copying the file (s) over?

a realistic method for making frosted glass. The problem that i have is i am ainterior designer and want to produce large panes (or smaller sections on larger panes) of frosted glass in an interior enviroment. At the moment i work in 3ds MAX creating the glass in there and apply a blur to it in photoshop. Iknow you can prob create frosted glass in 3ds MAX but it can be quite render heavy..

There is a considerable amont of glass reflection throughout the photograph which I would like to remove. Most of the reflection is seen in the clouds but there is also a condiderable amount in the water. Since the backround is mostly gray due to the weather the reflection shows up as a light grey to white against the grey. Could you tell me the best way to remove it? Is there a plug-in that will accomplish this quickly or must it be done through some other means?
